Was there for the first week of October with a group of 8. We were in two different buildings but they were close by and both had access to the beautiful Terrace which we spent quite a bit of time in. I had a beautiful suite with direct access onto the Terrace. Only one of us had an "inside" room which I can honestly say was a little claustrophobic (no windows and rather low ceilings compared to the rest of the place.) They seemed fine with it because we spent so much time in common areas and the Terrace but I would've been a little uncomfortable in that room. (only reason I wouldn't give it 5 stars) Breakfast was great, always fresh fruit and coffee/Tea available. Even wine glass and wine if you wanted! Staff was absolutely lovey and did everything they could to make us all perfectly comfortable. There were 2 supermarkets acorss the street (one organic). But we were out most of the day but DID love that Terrace in the evening when we were back. All rooms had comfortable air comditioners. …
Fantastic accomodation only here for one night but couldn’t fault anything.Good size comfortable room, bathroom with plenty of toiletries, lovely breakfast out on roof garden.A really nice touch was the availability of free tea or coffee with biscuits 24/7.A mini bar was available in sitting room with an honesty box in place for donations which are given to charity. The hosts are truly amazing nothing was to much trouble for them and I wish them continued success and would certainly return here again.Thankyou.
We really loved our stay at Ca La Maria. Maria and her staff were exceptional hosts who really made my wife and I feel at home the whole time we were in Barcelona. The room was lovely, the breakfast was delicious and the patio on the back was perfect for afternoon reading. The only issue we had was that we didn't stay longer!
My husband and I visited Barcelona for one week and split our time between Ca La Maria and another hotel. We both later agreed that we wished the entire trip was at Ca La Maria! Located in the city central, the B&B is surrounded by fantastic shopping, restaurants, and transportation options. The room was large yet charming with a beautiful view out onto the terrace. Everything was very clean and had modern touches such as air conditioning, an elevator, cable tv, and even a remote-controlled awning over the window. Small accomodations such as the provided slippers and bathrobes, free bottled water in the rooms and minifridge in the common area stocked with various beverages, and homemade cakes made from fresh ingredients from the community garden made it a comfortable stay. Small acts such as bringing ice to our room every night before their shift ended, allowing us to check in early, and packing us breakfasts to bring to the airport at 4AM proved the staff's willingness to go above and beyond. Book with Ca La Maria - you won't be disappointed!…
We booked and prepaid for this hotel 2 weeks prior through Orbitz and the day we check in we were told that the hotel was overbooked and there is no room available for the days we booked it for. The hotel gave me an option of either find a different hotel on our own or take the alternate hotel they are giving us. Not really a choice since that was our first time in Barcelona, have no access to internet to even look up other hotels, have 2 large bulky bags, and do not really speak the language, so we ended up taking the alternative hotel they gave us, we really didn't have a choice. We were desperate and the hotel took advantage of our desperation and book us in a standard room in the other hotel which I could have booked for less if I have known beforehand. So I paid for a suite and ended up in a standard room. That's doesn't seem right even though the hotel says the alternate hotel is a 4 star hotel. I booked Ca La Maria because I thought they have great accommodations (based on the pictures and the reviews-most of these reviews are probably fake) and their location was good. Booking this hotel is a roll of the dice, so if you want a hassle-free stay find something else, it will save you the headache.…
