Sleep Green is an environmentally-friendly youth hostel in the center of beautiful Barcelona. We created it from the passion to minimize the impact of our youth hostel on natural resources. Sleep Green is a small, friendly youth hostel with comfortable air-conditioned dormitories of only 4 to 6 beds. It's a short walk to main sites, public transportation, bars, shops and the old town.

Detailed Reviews
The place was just great! The hostel in in the very heart of Barcelona. Despite that, it is very quiet and restful inside. I am a solo female traveler, so it was important for me to feel safe.
The place has clean showers, free computer access and a well-packed kitchen. Ah, and they are open 24/7 so I didn't have to butcher my plans according them to open hours. Last but not least, special thanks to Inga at the reception! She really knows the city and shared a ton of insights (and she is just adorable). Thank you, and I will see you again!

I stayed in this hostel for 5 nights, it was perfect! The bed was really comfortable and everything about it was new. The discount card and guide which the receptionist (very pretty) provided was of much help! It is a very safe place, with CCTV looking out. I will definitely recommend this place!

This hostel is an absolute rip off!
I stayed in a room of 10 sqm. 2 bunk beds (sleeps four persons) plus a locker for each person were squeezed into the space. no chair, no table, no place to hang up your clothes. I payed €165.00 for 3 nights. Imagine! That makes more than €220.00 for the four beds. No service. No towels. no water. 2 showers for women and 2 showers for men are available for ALL rooms together.
No hotel in Europe could ever rent out such a small room without any service at that price even at an ok location. The street noise was considerable, though!
The staff, all from South and Central America were really kind. That was the only positive point. Green, ecology etc is just a scam.

I had a nice stay at this hostel and was made welcome soon as i arrived. My only downfall is that the hostel itself is really small and i didnt realise that when booking it online. Nothing wrong with that, but you are limited with the amount of people you can make friends with. I was lucky i had nice people in my room to share with. The beds are uncomfortable and pillows, so i didnt sleep well at all. Bathrooms are nice and tidy. and liked the lockers were in the room. Kitchen was kept clean, with free tea and cookies which was a bonus. Cheap for what i have paid for, but if you just turn up here they will charge you around 200 euros, which is not worth it!

I stayed for 3 nights.
Good:
The front desk people were pretty cool and very helpful. The facilities were all very new. The bunk beds were pretty strong, so you won't have to worry much about moving and having the other person feel the tremor. Everything was very clean and nice. The location is awesome for shopping. It's right at the top edge of the Gothic Quarter.
Bad:
None of the any locks, so the front desk person would always coming into your room without knocking and to tell you to close the window because the AC on or they smell someone smoking. It's was extremely annoying. You absolutely get no privacy. They keep the AC off during day time because it's eco-friendly, but I say it's unhygienic because the hostel just gets muggy and there are still enough people walking around to justify keeping the AC on. The hostel is at a very busy intersection, so at night and day, you have to keep the windows closed because the noise from the traffic is very loud -- (this should justify turning on the AC during day time!). The showers make sense that it's eco friendly, since there is a timer thing per press, but they really should have a stop button for someone to turn off the water in case you're doing a quick rinse because it just waste water. The kitchen needs a hand towel. There is no towel to dry your hands.
Overall, this hostel is very quiet in the sense that there's just not a lot of common areas. And if you do hang out in the balcony or your room afterhours, the front desk guy might just rudely walk in to tell you to be quiet. Also, it's just really hard to get a good night sleep with the on-going traffic outside all night long. They need better glass door for soundproofing and keeping the AC in. And finally, they are just cheap about using AC.
Note: Because there is no door lock, make sure you lock everything in your lockers, even things like shoes or dirty towel. We had someone steal a pair of shoe in the room from under our bed while we were out.

Dear Wanda, Thank you for your review, we are glad to hear that you enjoyed the facilities and the location of the hostel. Because we are a hostel and the rooms are shared we want our guests to feel free to enter and leave as they please, however we do provide large lockers for personal belongings and the room sizes are relatively small when compared to other hostels (a maximum of 6 beds in one room). Thus, we try to provide as much privacy as possible within the context of being a hostel. We do actually turn the AC on in the Summer months and respond to guests requests to increase or decrease the temperature. Sleep Green is a calm, clean space in the middle of busy Barcelona and we pride ourselves in this. For common areas we have a large seating area in the kitchen. Part of the hostel policy is to avoid making excessive noise past midnight, to make sure that everyone can enjoy their time here in Barcelona and rest well, something you will have been informed about upon check-in. Unfortunately, beyond double glazing there isn’t much we can do to control the city noise; it’s part of the charm of being in the city centre! We appreciate comments like these as they help us to improve for the future! Many thanks, Sleep Green

This hostel should be recommended to each and every traveller who wish to try such kind of accommodation. Very clean, quiet and friendly staff plus their location is at the center of Barcelona.

I stayed here overnight so that I could catch an early plane the following morning. Very good for the price. Rooms are plain - to be expected. Very clean for a hostel. The facilities, toilets and reception were really nicely maintained. Staff were really helpful and welcoming. My 3 other room mates were nice too. Overall, a great €11 stay.

I liked this place , the kitchen is damn cute and I was quite floored by how quiet and sane it is. Of all the hostels I have stayed in , this one had the nicest vibe, I even managed to do my meditation in the kitchen. The room is cosy and the lockers are clean. The bathrooms could be a bit better but I loved how they left free food / tea/ cookies and some free cosmetics in the loo. Loved staying in a eco friendly place:)
Great going guys , keep it up !

Loved this hostel. Awesome reception and customer care. Super clean kitchen and bathrooms, rooms are basic bus comfortable, with sockets and personal lockers. Recepcion 24/7 and laundry service available, right in the center of Barcelona, surrounded by all sorts of facilities. Will go back again 100‰
