We stayed at Arai for 3 nights and had an amazing stay. The room was perfect for a family of 4 with one queen and 2 twin/couches with small kitchen and table. Modern amenities and bath. It is tucked in the heart of the Gothic neighborhood and allows you to easily walk to Las Ramblas, Picasso Museum, Barcelona Cathedral as well as explore the more intimate winding streets. Highly recommend!
We loved this stylish Aparthotel and it’s location in the Gothic quarter. Las Ramblas, the old town, the cathedral and the seafront are all within a short stroll. There is a nearby metro to go further afield and we found this very easy to use. The reception staff were so friendly, welcoming and super helpful. Special thanks to Albert 😊 We were in one of the smaller rooms which was absolutely fine for one week, well-equipped, clean and comfortable. There is some noise from the George Orwell square especially at weekends, but it didn’t bother us at all and I always travel with earplugs anyway! The roof terrace with pool is gorgeous, has great views and a perfect place to relax with a coffee. Room 51 is a penthouse with its own sunny roof terrace and jacuzzi … that would be amazing if budget permits! We weren’t brave enough to swim in the rooftop pool, but were very tempted on our last day when the sun was baking hot for early February! We ate at Palosanto next door to the hotel a couple of times and the food was delicious and very good service. We had breakfast a couple of times in the square in the February sunshine which was also lovely. All in all, we thoroughly recommend this fab hotel and we will definitely be returning for another visit.…
You will not regret staying at Arai! It was honestly my family and I's favorite part of our stay in Barcelona. It's located in central Barcelona meaning that you have access to so many shops and eateries located withing walking distance of the hotel, AND it's located in the Gothic Quarter, one of Spain's oldest streets. You're also a couple minutes away (walking distance) from La Rambla, our personal favorite. I'd give 10 stars if I could!
Excellent location and the reception staff were very nice and extremely helpful. Rooms had everything you need and a small compact kitchen area with plenty of utensils and good selection of glasses. Great shower and comfy bed.
Lovely property - historic building that has been beautifully restored. The executive room was quite small. Rooms on the plaza (George Orwell) are very noisy. We moved to family room on the street side and it was much quieter and larger.
Fantastic stay this time last year- this year, requested “quiet” room has a busker directly under the window, no manager available for next 4 days…so don’t come if you want sleep or customer service!
Brilliant customer service and very helpful. Very central and within walking distance from bars and restaurants. Really enjoyed my stay and would return. Rooms were very clean, big and out looked into the street below. Busy during the day but quiet on a night.
We enjoyed this very good and characteristic hotel. Everything was perfect: the service, location, room, bed, shower, kitchen, cleaning, gym, roofterrace. The arty decoration with museum pieces are beautiful and makes this hotel really special. Very well done how this style has been extended to the halls and rooms, love it. Sidenote: of course take earplugs with you when you stay in a city.
We stayed 9 days in the family room in January and got a great deal for this large room with full kitchen and separate dining area just for the two of us. We loved the hotel and the attentive staff. The lobby is gorgeous and delightfully "historic" in character. The rooms as you can see from photos are very modern and look to have been recently renovated. Bedding was very comfortable, big black bathroom was nice although I found the lighting a tad on the dark side. Location can't be beat. Minutes to La Rambla, short walk to the water, and surrounded by the atmosphere of the Gothic Quarter. We walked almost everywhere, but the Jaume metro is a short distance. Not sure we could afford to stay 9 days at this beautiful hotel during high season. We were grateful for our time there. Don't hesitate to book here. We'll be recommending it to friends.…
This is an old apartment building converted to a hotel. All the rooms are huge and fitted with modern amenities. It's also conveniently located close to the gothic quarters, marina and La Rambla. There are several coffee shops and restaurants within walking distance. The front-desk/reception staff is just super helpful and I would award them 10/10 for the service. It could get a bit noisy in the late evening but hey - that's part of the experience! Highly recommend!
