Nice location but they were doing some work in the street so the street was blocked, which makes the access via taxi difficult. They only clean the rooms Once we week. They did not accept our late check out request. We checked out and had to go to the neighbour building to leave our suitcases in the locker. To our surprise the lift didn’t work because of the construction work on that street. We had to carry our suitcases up two flights of stairs. When we picked up our luggage the locker didn’t open, the cleaning lady had to open it with her key. Other guests had the same problem. Wouldn’t want to imagine what would have happened if the cleaning lady hadn’t been around to open the locker for us, especially when it’s check out day and you are on a schedule to leave for the airport.…
Normally when we travel we jump around to different locations every few days. When we stopped here, the retro mid century modern feel of the place, along with the great location and staff, had us extending our stay. We had small issues (that are the norm for boutique places), but they were addressed so quickly that we didn't care. Being right in between all the touristy stuff (you can walk to La Sagrada Familia or La Rambla in about than 20 minutes) made it ideal. An eclectic place which we will consider again.
Very nice apartment with interesting interior with retro furniture. Clean, tidy with a beautiful balcony ideal for morning coffee. Good location, walking distance to the important sights of Barcelona. Ideal for the city break. I truly enjoyed - my warm recomendation.
Pros: location, private terrace, comfortable bed, nice shower Cons: some slight trouble getting pin code to front door, as coffee was replenished quickly when asked for, they apparently will not provide extra creamers. Luckily I read in these reviews that they don’t provide soap for the sink, so I brought some from home.
Very nice hotel with charming retro interior. Well located - walking distance from many tourist attractions. Perfect for short city break. We book online with breakfast included. The first morning we got up to plan our hotel morning breakfast. It was a surprise when we found the blinds of the lounge bar closed. At noon, we were able to contact the reception and were informed that the breakfasts are not currently being served, and that our room had been upgraded as part of the compensation. This was not a problem for us, but it would be nice to receive this information before our stay. Despite this situation, the stay was very nice.
I emailed ahead saying it was my boyfriend’s 30th birthday and they went above and beyond to make it perfect. The staff were great, in particular Gabriel was an excellent breakfast host. There were 4 choices at breakfast - all accompanied by croissants, the most divine jams, OJ and coffee. I loved the homemade granola. We had a suite and it was perfect - kitchen, large balcony, coffee machine, Apple TV, seating area. The g&t at the bar and local beers were superb. We loved our stay, thank you.
Bad service and hospitality. I wouldn't recommend anyone to go here. We have had the worst time of our lives. It's a good thing we had only booked for two nights and not a week. Better think twice to book here.
Wonderful retro style hotel with furniture and interior from the fifties and sixties. Great place to relax and enjoy Barcelona. Top quality staff, friendly and charming, nice mix of clients. Quiet area, a few blocs outside the crowdy and touristic hot spots. Well accessible by subway. Lovely breakfast !
Great hotel with lovely staff and decor, retro style with original pieces! We very much enjoyed our stay at Retrome and wish to be back soon again. The place has alot of small quirky surprises! :) Very different from your standard "processed" hotel chain. Hope to be back again soon!
Really nice room with floor to ceiling windows with original shutters and a small balcony. Room was small but this was not a problem for a short trip. Free access to tea and coffee in the lounge area.
