The Travelodge Barcelona Poblenou is lauded for its excellent location, a stone's throw from the beach and local attractions, which travelers find particularly appealing. While the service is generally commended for being friendly, some guests have encountered less-than-helpful staff and slow elevator service.
The hotel's minimalist amenities receive mixed reviews, with praise for cleanliness but criticism for extra charges, particularly for WiFi. The atmosphere is noted for its simple yet functional charm, although opinions on value and room quality vary, with some guests considering it overpriced due to the basic offerings and noise issues.

I had read some negative reviews and left with some doubts. Upon arrival I had to change my mind. We were immediately welcomed with kindness and courtesy, we checked in quickly. The rooms are clean, a little small with 4 beds inside but in the end you don't have to live there. The cleaning was excellent, they made the room every day and changed the towels. The bathroom brush and bidet are missing... but I think these are their customs. For a hairdryer you can get it at reception with a deposit of 10 euros, and I have to be honest it's an excellent hairdryer and has nothing to do with those found in other hotels. Working air conditioning, manageable with a small wall keypad, although we didn't use it much as it was cool at night. The international breakfast is excellent, there is everything, the only thing missing is some biscuits. The location is excellent, 200 meters away you are on the Rambla where you can find many good restaurants to taste Catalan specialities, going towards the sea you will find the Nanni restaurant where the children were able to eat an excellent plate of pasta and Luigi where you can taste an excellent Italian ice cream, then always very close we find various supermarkets, pharmacies, bazaars. In front of the hotel we have the bus stop, the only flaw is that to get to the center you have to make changes. Furthermore, on the day of departure we left our luggage in storage and went out. Every evening when we returned we found fresh water at the entrance. A perfect organization. The only flaw is the lack of a fridge in the room and a safe. Also there is no closed cloakroom. Just a coat hanger.

My mother and I had a great stay at the Travelodge in Poblenou. We checked in very late and there was someone at the service desk 24/7. You could even order coffee or food at the mini bar in the lobby which had comfortable seating and wifi to work in. We appreciated the attention from staff especially Rosa Enamorado who was very kind and hospitable. The parking garage was easy and accesible ($15 for 24 hrs) and there is free street parking at night if you time it correctly. The rooms were very basic but sheets were changed daily. Overall, good value for the price.

This is comparable to what you have at Ibis Budget; clean and basic. Location quite ok, within walking distance of Llacuna metro station. There is little to complain about in the room, except that the shower gel in the dispenser smells like the cheapest dishwashing liquid available. This is a huge mistake. In addition, Travelodge is ready to make you pay for WiFi in the room in 2023; You can use the internet for free at the reception, but in the rooms you have to pay for it... also it's been years since I experienced that. Breakfast basic but ok for the class you are in. All over, this is a somewhat overpriced offer for what you get... so for me... different and better.

I will surely never return to that hotel. Rude staff and answers badly Terrible breakfast, you can't drink the coffee Check out is at 12 and at 9 the cleaning girls came in without asking permission or forgiveness. You have to leave a deposit in cash for the dryer and even the cutlery if you order at home you have to buy it in case you need one😂 Lots of chaos at all hours And the rooms (which are not so cheap) did not drain the water in the bathroom, neither from the toilet nor from the sink. I was with the water up every day. Terrible, I will never return!

I had higher expectations for this western brand hotel in Barcelona, especially given its prime location in a bustling tourist area. Unfortunately, what I encountered was an outdated property that feels overrated. While the hotel is centrally located, making it easy to explore outdoor dining options and the nearby beach, the quality of the facilities did not meet my expectations for the price. The room was small and offered minimal amenities, and I was surprised to find that there was an additional charge for WiFi access. The elevator service was slow, adding to the overall frustration. For what you pay, I expected more comfort and modern conveniences. It's possible that there may be better rates during non-peak tourist seasons, but overall, I left feeling underwhelmed. If you’re looking for a hotel that matches the charm of Barcelona, I'd recommend exploring other options in the area.

Dear Customer, We appreciate that you have taken the time to rate us. Regarding the amenities, I would like to tell you that the Travelodge hotel chain has a soap dispenser in the bathroom; we have dispensed with plastic bottles for sustainability reasons. As for the rest of the bathroom accessories, there are free services that must be requested at reception, such as a hairdryer, kettle or plugs, which we provide for a €10 deposit that is returned when returning the products. As you say, Wi-Fi is free in the common areas and paid for in the rooms. This is indicated in the booking conditions so that there are no misunderstandings throughout the stay. We hope that you give us a chance at any of our 11 hotels in Spain. All the best,

Hard to believe some of the poor +negative reviews about this hotel !! This is a basic Travelodge chain hotel which is reflected in its price range but located in an ideal spot for a fantastic beach and easy transport links to all areas of Barcelona. Lovely tree-lined areas surroundings for relaxing and watching the world go by! Travelodge Poblenou is very clean (despite reviews I read from recent stayers!!) Bed comfortable and the staff are friendly, multi-lingual and helpful. Ask at recetion for hairdryer, duvet etc and it will be provided without fuss. Vending machines available. Bar open in evening. We didnt eat in Travelodge as located next to the Rambles where we preferred to go. Would thoroughly recommend if you just want a good room as a base in a great location outside the city with options to travel around to the city for sight-seeing or stay local and enjoy eating, drinking and beaches Esther on checking out took time to make sure our stay was good.

88 € per night don't buy you Wifi, that's an extra! No matter how you look at it, it is a rip off. In any pension wifi is included and the room would be similar or better. Not even a closet... This hotel is for people looking for a youth hostel level of service and willing to pay for Wifi, with a youth hostel would provide for free.

It was awful. I emailed Travelodge to ask about the pet charges. I received no reply, so I called on the day that we wanted stay with my question to find out if the charge was €20 per pet OR per room. I got told it was per room. As we were only staying one night there was no way I was going to pay €40 for 2 pets for a one night stay so I wanted to find out before I booked. I got told by the man on the phone that it was per room so I went ahead and booked the room. On arrival they tried to charge me €40 for my 2 dogs. I explained that I had spoken to someone on the phone earlier, I showed them the call log on my phone and the receptionist said to me that I was given the wrong information and it was it was per room not per pet. After a lot of confusion, a lot of hanging around I was very stressed, I was tired after travelling and I was close to tears. After I told them to cancel my booking and that I would find somewhere else the man on reception agreed that because it was not my fault i was given wrong information they would only charge for one pet on this occasion but in future he wished to inform me that the charge is €20 per pet. Well, THERE WON'T BE A NEXT TIME!! Who in their right mind would pay €40 for one night? As if that wasn't bad enough, the hotel is NOT dog friendly. The dogs are not allowed anywhere in the hotel except to go in and out of the front door (which I had to sign to say I agreed to) So they want to charge €40 for one night but the hotel is not dog friendly? Therefore, we could not go downstairs to have a coffee, have a beer, to use the hotel wifi which was only available downstairs (unless you pay extra) or anything else in the hotel and dogs cannot be left alone in the room so what is the point?! The icing on the cake was the very noisy building work outside the hotel which started early in the morning which we were not informed of. Car park was also an extra €15. I would not recommend this place at all, especially if travelling with dogs.

Dear Ms Plant, thank you for taking a few minutes to give us your feedback. However, we must remind you that the information was provided to you from the beginning, not only by our reception staff but also by our assistant manager. You were informed that the price is per pet and per stay. In case of exceeding 7 nights, you have to pay again the supplement of 20 euros. He was told that, as a courtesy, only a supplement would be applied. At Travelodge we always welcome pets as part of the family but there are regulations that must be complied with, a food and hygiene regulation and also our internal regulations. Pets cannot be left unattended in the room. Yours sincerely, Travelodge - Customer Care Team

I do not recommend it. The hotel is in need of improvement in terms of details. and darling. Upon arrival they gave us a room that was dirty and we had to go back to reception to change it. There is no free Wi-Fi in the room unless you make the reservation directly with them (which they don't tell you until you arrive). The bathrooms have no amenities of any kind (two very shabby plastic cups), the shower head is full of lime, the Bedspread with stains, super hot room, damaged floors, elevator lights that don't work... Not recommended.

Receptionist were much busy talking to each other than welcome the new customers. Not smiling or making an effort of trying to explain how things work and where there are. We booked room for 3 people in which the room supposed to be a family of 4. The room was tiny in which family of 4 would NOT fit. There was ONE SMALL (a bit too high) shelf and only 5 hangers on a small rack, and 3 pillows. 4 small plastic cups in the room and if cleaner been they where not replaced so you needed to go down to reception and ask for new plastic cups. The water was cold at the beginning of EVERY shower. And at the end of the stay the receptionist didn’t even ask us how was our stay. Oooou and we supposed to have kettle and tea in the room but there was nothing!

Dear Anna S, We greatly value the importance of communication with our customers and are committed to providing exceptional service. We want to assure you that we have a team dedicated to ensuring our guests' satisfaction and strives to offer a warm welcome to everyone. However, it's important to note that due to high occupancy and the need to efficiently meet our operational requirements, maintaining a constant smile can sometimes be challenging. Nonetheless, our team is always ready to assist and provide the best possible service. Also, it's important to note that communication among the team members is essential and we don't believe that internal communication should be a nuisance to you. Regarding our family rooms, our family rooms (20m2) are designed to comfortably accommodate 2 adults and 2 children under the age of 12. As for the hot water in the showers, it's common to have to wait a brief period for it to reach the desired temperature, as is the case in many establishments. Finally, we remind you that the kettle and tea are available upon request at the reception, and they are provided free of charge, as initially informed. We appreciate your feedback and understanding, as they help us continually improve. We hope you will consider staying with us again in the future, and we assure you that we will do our utmost to provide a more satisfying experience. If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us directly. Your comfort and satisfaction are of utmost importance to us. Kind regards,
