My experience was amazing. The hotel and Staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a pleasant stay. I arrived at Friday Morning at around 11:45 am from a long flight from New York , I told the guy at the front, sorry I do not remember his name BUT he accommodated us to sleep because we were tired, in less than 10 mins—The entire staff was great! Jarra with his special drinks! I am totally coming back!!! Love Indigo!!!!

Most terrible hotel I’ve ever seen in my life , front desk staff no Customer service at all, bad attitude , they can’t even make a booking or extend a booking . We call more than 10 times and send emails without any response or action , worst reception ever, they don’t know how to create a booking , bad staff service and management for sure a disaster hotel , no manager supervising the staff

A lovely hotel in a great location , with plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. We were only in the city for 2 nights prior to joining a cruise , so just wanted to chill out before a busy few days ahead . This hotel brand tends to have very quirky decor which we love , having stayed in other Indigo properties in London , Singapore , and Vancouver, that’s why we chose to stay at this property. However something is lacking , I carn,t quite put my finger on it . The staff are excellent on the front desk and the bar. We were recognised as frequent customers of the IHG group of hotels and upgraded to an executive room on check in , which was very nice , and a big thank you to you. Some of the decor is a little tired , for example in our room 407 , the desk is marked by what appears to be cigarette burns , in a no smoking property !,,, also the cream leather head board is cracked and warn which doesn’t give a great impression. . Other than that. we really cannot fault the hotel , and the aforementioned appearance of some of our room features would not stop us highly recommending the hotel ,and we would certainly stay here again should we return to Barcelona . Thank you for a great stay .

Look for consistent themes in the reviews: cancelling your reservation without notifying you and when you arrive they give you different room from the one you have booked as they have already sold yours to someone else but still charged you. I have ignored these reviews and regretted it upon arrival as this is exactly what has happened to us. We had late train from Paris and were due to arrive around 11 pm but I emailed the hotel about 2 pm to confirm that we are coming. Upon check in I got charged in advance for 2 nights and they told me they took the payment for the first night already. I found this odd as I booked flexible rate but I understood it later… When I entered the room I was shocked to find that we got allocated tiny room facing the street and not “one double bed suite pool view terrace” but got charged for such at check in! I went down to reception who tried to gaslight me saying that “it is subject to availability” etc! This is not an upgrade - I booked and paid for a suite! I was not giving up so receptionist called Maria has allocated us “executive room” facing the street with no terrace which was just a little bit bigger (same as to other reviewer). It had broken jacuzzi and leaking sink. She said it will be rectified in the morning- nothing had happened for all 3 nights! Upon checkout they promised to credit extra points for inconvenience- 3 weeks later I have not seen these either. I really needed a suite as one of the days me and my husband had several important work conference calls in our respective companies and it was very difficult to do it on one small undivided space. I urge everyone to read the reviews and connect the dots. And please do not even try to accuse me on defamatory review like you did to another reviewer further down. I have evidence for everything I am saying. I have written hundreds of hotel reviews in the last 12 years and most of them are good so don’t even try to reply in the same way! I am also IHG elite member and know what to expect from the hotel in this chain. I have just called IHG customer service and they confirmed that hotel has cancelled my reservation to cover up. I urge anyone to read the reviews and connect the dots. This is not a coincidence or one off as I have mistakenly thought. If you book here - you may be running a risk of having similar experience. I found it really distressing and do not wish it to happen to anyone else. This is not to vent, this is to warn the Tripadvisor community.

This hotel is very clean and comfortable. Great sized room, comfortable bed and great shower room. Plenty of storage space. Good location, less than 10 mins walk to old town and 5 mins walk from Plaza Catalunya where the buses to and from airport arrive into. Breakfast was good; self service, plenty of choice for continental and there is also some hot options. Machine for coffee but it was nice coffee. There is a pool but it didn’t open until 11am when I was there in July so if you have any plans to swim in the mornings you should note this. I was very happy with my stay except for one thing…when we checked in at 9am I was told my room wasn’t ready and we would have to wait until 2.30pm for checkin. I had no problem with that, it was what I expected since I was arriving at the hotel so early. However, the receptionist then said that they had a room which was cleaned and available if I paid 30 euros. Bearing in mind that this Hotel was in the region of £200 per night, this annoyed me. Am I living in the past? I thought the deal was that if there was a room ready you would be given the room. For your comfort and for the hotel’s convenience too, as it means they don’t need to check you in later and retrieve luggage. If the room is ready surely there is no inconvenience for the hotel to give you the room early. I can understand a charge for late checkout as the hotel has the inconvenience of delaying cleaning the room perhaps at a cost of retaining housekeeping on duty. I enjoyed my stay at the hotel and would recommend because of location and facilities but I won’t stay there again because the check in policy is not providing good customer service.

If you love shopping this is the hotel to be, the shopping street is just 500m from the hotel, and the hotel is in the quite neighborhood, to travel from this place is also very easy, the rooms for a family was small but over all the whole experience was very good, also my kids also enjoyed the swimming pool in the hotel. Stayed here for a week recently--my first trip to Barcelona. Truly enjoyed it! Plaza Catalunya is a wonderful neighborhood and the hotel was close to many major sights, and also very easy to access from the airport. Once inside, I truly appreciated the hospitality. I arrived early from an overnight flight, and although check-in is not until 3PM, they checked me in early at no cost after a brief wait in the lobby. I'm an IHG member and although my preference is to be in a room away from the elevator, they did put me in a room right by the elevator which didn't prove to be a problem because it was never noisy. The room was very small but cleverly appointed, and worked for me as a solo traveler. Loved having my own coffee & tea makers, and the shortbread cookies left each day are a nice touch. Same with the complimentary water--helpful for those scorching days walking around Barcelona. My quibbles are minor--had a hard time securing a "face towel" because they ran out of them but a fantastic employee went out of his way to secure one for me. Also, I didn't love the breakfast--uninspiring with a lot of stale carbs. It was really not good (except for the bacon, which was delicious). Fortunately the hotel is close to many other local cafes & I found the sustenance I needed. I finally want to offer major kudos to the following staffers, who went above and beyond, so friendly and helpful every single day and truly made me feel at home: Chayenne Maria Kriss Manuel Jarra A great team dedicated to making patrons feel at home, safe and comfortable. I would not hesitate to stay at Hotel Indigo Barcelona again!

The hotel room was quite big with high ceiling. Room was fresh and looked recently refurbished, however small bathroom. Breakfast was good and food felt home made. Hotel is very central and near Placa Catalunia. Did not try the swimming pool, but it looked nice.

I was visiting Barcelona with my two teenaged kids, and we stayed in the Indigo hotel for 7 days. The hotel is very comfortably located near the center of Barcelona. We were able to reach many places by foot or easily take a train or a bas. The hotel has a very good and rich breakfast - the room is convenient, clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and hospitable: I would like to say special thanks to Hanna (reception) - for helping us find our way via map of Barcelona and locate important places to see. Adrian (Bar restaurant) - for being so positive and friendly and for cooking a very good hamburger and other dishes (: Jarra (hotel maintenance) - for being a wonderful person and helping us feel at home.
