I've been to quite a few Indigo hotels in various countries and chose this because they are always in great condition and really quirky. Alas, not this. The reception has blowups of Gaudi pieces - hardly original - and vases of false flowers. The room was bland and quite poky for the price, with stained carpets, scuffed and damaged walls, a stained wash hand basin, a bathroom floor with mould and a wheezing, cranking lift that took forever. It did seem clean, if completely run down. I am used to being asked how my stay was when I leave and had my answer ready. I'm also used to them saying thank you staying or hope you come back or other pleasantries. Huh. She thanked me for the key and that was it. I was going to tell her I won't be back.

We stayed at the Indigo - Plaza Catalunya for a WW company meeting gathering 38 people from around the world for a week. I warmly recommend. Thanks to the professionalism and the flexibility of the staff (the event organizer, Charlène, the front desk, kitchen and service teams), the quality of the accommodation, the meeting room and the equipment supplied the technical part of the seminar has been very well rated by all the participants. Special mention for the timely and well organized lunches and breaks enabling effective meetings. The facility was very well prepared by the hotel's staff. We had a number of value add proposals helping in making decisions on some of the key elements (meeting places, lunches, welcome cocktail) The hotel is very well located, at short distance from major locations in Barcelona (Sagrada Familia, Gothic quarter, Plaza de Catalunya...) providing options for the international visitors to get a good view of the city and some of its main sites. Checkin was terrible, no room available, told to come back later, still at 5.30pm they were struggling to find me a room. I am Platinum member, means nothing at this hotel. I was asked by reception staff 5 times if i wanted to include breakfast, a clear NO was given to them each time, they even said “why don’t you like breakfast”! Room provided was terrible, noise levels though the plasterboard walls was shocking like I have never experienced before in my life! Room and bathroom dirty, stains on carpet, warn and stained desktops, nothing in minibar, room was tiny, TV had terrible reception and lack of English Channels, Bed was old and rock hard. I checked out after first night, was planning a 4 night or longer stay. Staff rude, abrupt and unhelpful. I completed the IHG survey with zero response from anyone!…

I am sorry to hear about the issues you had during your stay. It is a pity that we could not met in person and discuss the issues, I am sure I would have been able to find a solution to them. Regarding some of the issues, our mattresses are one year old, this might be the reason you found them a bit hard. Nevertheless, and if advised, our HK Team would have placed a topper to soften the mattress. We apologize for the TV problems since we do have channels in various languages, we kindly always advise our guest to report any problem to our Front Desk team, they are the one that can send maintenance right away. We apologize once again for not meeting the expectations. I will be sharing your feedback with hotel management and Front Desk to prevent this for happening again.. Awesome staff, great bartender and nice room overlooking the main street in Barcelona. Walkable to everywhere we wanted to go. The market, Segrada Familia, shops and the waterfront. Room was a nice size.

Very nice hotel good location, the rooms are spacious very good size and well maintained, the room were clean, The breakfast was with good options also for kids. Kids went one evening to the pool. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Will highly recommend.

Horrible!!! Disrespectful and insulting front desk employee (Angie) made our family wait from 10am until 3:10pm for a check-in. Guaranteed check-in in time 3pm, as a platinum IHG member i am aligible to an early chek in. When I asked about our room readiness she responded "sit down close your mouth and wait. What a disgrace to Indigo Barcelona. After ckeck AC was not working in the room... really disappointed. Avoid this place rude service.

Perfectly nice small hotel. Very quiet rooms (not always the case in Barcelona!) despite being on a major road. Breakfast acceptable and staff were lovely. Only negative comment is that the pool is much smaller than the pix but I didn’t have time to use it regardless. Would definitely stay here on business or short personal trips again. Easy walk from Aerobus Plaza de Catalunya.

Indigo used to be one of my favorite IHG brands, but in the past few years I had more and more negative experience that I have decided to skip IHG for good. Indigo Barcelona is a mixed bag: + it's centrally located + hotel rooms are a bit tired but spotlessly clean But what is breathtakingly annoying is the fact that the hotel has loudspeakers installed in the corridors and the entire day the hotel plays loud music on them.... and of course you can hear everything in your room. Even with headphones on, I could hear the music from the corridor. I don't know about you, but I get to a hotel room to get rest.... At least you don't have to worry about noise neighbors.

Great hotel with good location. Friendly staff that is really sweet and service minded. Rooms are big and beds are comfy. Small pool, but great for a dip to cool down. Breakfast is good. Plenty of choice. Long wait when checking in, but staff tried their best. We will come back!

Good rooms, reasonably sized, good bathroom and coffee machine in room. Breakfast quite good, several options. More business style than tourist style and the quality was better also. We had some small issues during the stay, and it seemed like it was many of the staffs first day when we were there and also the systems were down so a bit chaotic in reception. However, seems like the staff are all very friendly and solution oriented so we had a good experience. Location is good and convenient for the Plaza Catalunya and the Aerobus connection to the airport. The pool is tiny, a bonus perhaps in a city hotel. We didn’t have time to use it as there is so much to see in Barcelona. Hotel functioned very well for us, would recommend it and consider staying there again.
