We can highly recommend the ZoomRooms. Steve and Anna were super friendly and helpful. The rooms are very tidy and well kept. The location is not far from La Rambla and it is a nice walk to the beaches. The metro is also quite close by. The kitchen has everything need to make you feel at home. The next time...

Stayed for 3 nights in March. It is situated roughly the same distance from Diagonal and Passage de Gracia Metro stations, about 10 mins brisk walk, 15-20 mins if you have luggage with you. From Passage de Gracia station, you actually walk pass Casa Batlio. Cafes and bars dot the surrounding streets, so you're never far from food. Did not...

Travelled as a group of three Irish girls, found Zoo rooms on Trip Advisor. We used to walk in and out of the city every day, it was about a 30-40 min easy walk but that wasn't an issue for us. Room & bathroom were very clean and overall a really nice place to stay. Our room was off the...

Stayed for 6 nights here. Some positive and negative points to my opinions. Positive: affordable, cosy, good wifi, nearby 24hr supermarket Negative: a bit of a walk from the station passeig de gracia station esp with luggage. Noisy if facing main road but they do give free earplugs. Remember to email them about arrivals and departure time as reception is...

Stayed at Zoo Rooms for six nights. We had a terrace room with doors opening to the interior courtyard so that made the room seem larger. The terrace rooms face the courtyard and are very quiet. We really appreciated the shared kitchen. Each room is allocated shelf space in one of the two refrigerators. Surprisingly, the kitchen was not a...

We loved our stay. The room was lovely and clean, comfortable and secure. The terrace was a perfect addition to the room and we loved spending time in the hammocks. To be able to use the fridge and the lounge area was also really useful. We really enjoyed our stay at Zoo Rooms and found it to be very close...

We stayed for a week at Zoo Rooms. It is located at a central place with lots of restaurants around it. There is a 24h supermarket at the corner. You can use everything in the kitchen and the big space outside was a really nice extra. The room was cozy, clean and had a private bathroom. There was a good...

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
ZOO ROOMS offers stylish and budget "chic & cheerful" accommodation to a new generation of culturally sophisticated visitors to Barcelona who want a certain level of independence mixed with top-quality service, style and comfort at an affordable price.Hotel? Hostel? - Oh?tel! Our rooms meet guidelines for hotel standards, but our prices are closer to a hostel. we are a unique boutique guesthouse, combining the quality you'd find in a fancy hotel with the personal services offered in a hostel - you can cook your own meal, mingle with other guests, chill out in the living room, drink on the terrace, and all at an affordable price. The location of our little city oasis, in the heart of the Eixample area, was carefully chosen so our guests would get a better city experience and level of comfort and relax that you just won't find staying in the old town. We are situated in a prestigious area of the city, next to the city's most hip restaurants, bars and just walking distance to the city's finest sights: There are bars and clubs just around the corner if you want to go out dancing, the best of the city's restaurants - with prices to suit all budgets - are all within easy walking distance. Gaudí's masterpieces La Pedrera and Casa Battló are also just a few blocks away. The area is safe at night to walk around in - you will not be harrassed by beer-sellers, thieves and drunkards like in the old town.Did we mention the TERRAZA? Our privileged guests will soon discover our large sunny terrace with hammocks and tables and lounge chairs where guests can really chill out and take a break from the hum-drum of the big city. We organise weekly BBQ's in the evenings during the summer months serving a wonderful array of the best Argentinean and Galician meats, fresh fish and grilled vegetarian options. ... more   less
