Great room with a huge double bed. Very clean and extremely secure. Very close to Paralel Metro station - less than 5 minutes walk. Easy to get to all the great places in Barcelona (Sagrada Familia is a MUST!). Lovely Albert was great on the front desk. Very friendly and helpful, always willing to help with guides, restaurants etc. We...

Located right around the corner from La Rambla, the location was great for getting around both on foot as well as by the metro, the closest metro stop being just a few hundred meters away. It's also just a short walk away from the waterfront, the gothic quarter and the center of the city. The room I stayed at was...

The hotel staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble, on arrival they gave our daughter a pack with crayons and pictures to colour, which she loved. On request they provided extra pillows and blankets and advice on the area as we hadn't been to Barcelona before. We stayed as a family of 3 in a triple room....

This is a really great hotel, very new and clean. Contemporary and fresh design throughout. The foyer is welcoming and bright, corridors are dark and it seems to work well. I stayed in a room (9th floor) with a panoramic view of the city which is really worth it (paying extra) the views of the mountains, sagrada familia and the...

We loved this area of Barcelona! So many bohemian/ artisan shops, museums and things to do. Hotel Andante is very friendly, welcoming and clean. The rooftop pool, although small, has the most AMAZING views! Only one gripe: why no tea and coffee facilities in the room? Traipsing down to the foyer for a hot drink wasn't going to happen at...

We looked at both El Jardi and Andante for our stay in Barcelona. We selected Andante because it is located on the west side of La Rambla but just a short walk away. This seemed like a better choice to get to and from the airport. Cabs do not need to deal with La Rambla traffic. Also, while walking we...

This hotel is in the perfect location. Close to the Ramblas, gothic area and the port, one can pretty much walk any where. Metro stations are within 5 mins walk should you require. A taxi rank is located directly outside the hotel. The hotel is modern and very well maintained. We had 2 interconnecting rooms 709+710. Perfect solution for families....

We visited this hotel in Jan 2016 for my husbands 50th birthday and would definitely go back. Saying that my daughter did in November 2016. The hotel is modern and clean and has a roof top swimming pool and good views. We found all the staff very helpful. In reception you could borrow an iron and get ice etc if...

Stayed at this hotel with my parter and two other couples whilst visiting Barcelona to celebrate New Years Eve at the city's famous magic fountains. The hotel is great, very clean and modern. Its a very short walk to the lively and popular La Ramblas and also not far from the Gothic quarter which is beautiful. The staff at the...

Room was basic but clean. Had a working safe which is always a bonus. Very quiet considering the location. Located close to metro stops which makes it good for getting around. Also close to las rambles. Area just outside the hotel was the only downside as there were homeless people deciding to inject themselves late at night.

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
