Arrive off our plane from Australia and stayed in this quirky little hotel. Staff were friendly. Hotel was clean and nice and quiet. The location is perfect to expire the old part of Barcelona. Within walking distance to the cathedral and other sights.

Hostal Grau is the perfect place to stay if you want to simultaneously live in the heart of Barcelona's vivid, bustling Barri Gotic (Gothic Quarter) AND have a peaceful retreat. From our fourth-floor balcony we could watch the life of the neighborhood flowing by, but when we closed the doors, we had complete quiet and privacy. It seemed to me... More

Dear guest, Thank you very much for your kind review. We are very glad that you liked our location in the center of Barcelona. Just to let you know the walls are isolated to keep our hotel quiet despite to be in a busy city. Thank you to mention the beds! We would like to let you know that all... More

I stayed here for three nights and have no complaints at all....The room was very clean, the bathroom was great (shower was wonderful) and there's a safe to leave your belongings. It is quite small but big enough for a 15" laptop (just) - camera and passport etc. The room is minimalist in design and has both a large fan... More

Another place that made my stay priceless was the eco-friendly hotel I spent my nights at: Hostal Grau. This little piece of green heaven portrays everything I imagine my future home to look like. Just for you to get an idea, the room I stayed at was called the “OFF Room” and it took sustainability to the next level! The... More

The hotel is small, privately owned and very personal. The rooms are spacious but uncluttered so don't expect masses of storage! Aircon does the job of keeping the heat out while the double glazing keeps out the street noise. Central location is excellent for easy access but far enough from the main streets to be quietly relaxed. The management team... More

My husband and I were visiting Spain for the first time and Barcelona was our first stop. A friend suggested Hostal Grau and not being familiar with the city we made a reservation. The hotel for us was perfect. We are very Eco minded and the hotel was Leeds certified. It was perfectly located, the staff beyond helpful, and the... More

Nice clean hotel. I like the green living theme. Clean comfy bed. Friendly staff. Ceiling fan would have been good to use a/c less, also mini fridge would be nice. For some reason there is no hairdryer in the room. Great neighborhood. Close to everything crucial.

Picked this through a combination of great reviews on Trip Advisor & the reasonable prices - not disappointed. Lovely hotel, cracking location & all the staff really friendly & helpful. Spotlessly clean - lovely free glass or 2 of plonk between 6 & 7 & cake - that would go down well on the GB bake off - & coffee... More

Thank you for your kind review. I am very happy to hear that you enjoyed the hotel and appreciate all your nice comments. Our windows are double glassed but as the street is a bit narrow, sometimes if there is many people walking on the street or even speaking loud you can hear a bit. We will make sure windows... More

Finding accommodation for larger families can be a struggle, so it was lovely to find somewhere that not only caters for more than four per room, but is full of character, in a fantastic location, and with wonderful staff.

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
