Star ratings are intended to indicate the general level of features, amenities, and services to expect. This property is classified according to Giata.
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travelers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
We thoroughly enjoyed our several days at the Melia, midway in our month of travel. Our room was very comfortable, the breakfast selection vast, and the front desk staff were extremely pleasant and helpful.
If you are not driving, you will need a taxi or public transportation to get to the sights.
Since we were traveling for a month, I was delighted to find a laundromat a 5 minute walk down the street. The hotel offered laundry services but we had a considerable amount of clothing and I thought it would just be too expensive to use that.

We stayed here for two nights on a tour. Hotel was very clean as was our room. Room had a odd floor plan however we made it work for us. The bed was comfy and the room had all of the amenities that we needed. Breakfast was good and we also had a lunch in the restaurant also that was nice. Had a wonderful stay.

Family stay for 3 days in July. The hotel is in a great location for some of the highlights in Barcelona, if you intend to visit La Rambla it is a taxi ride or long walk away. The hotel staff were generally friendly and very helpful. The hotel itself seriously needs updating to be considered a 5 star property. The rooms while large are very dated with some dubious design decisions like the glass panel between the shower and the bedroom? If you visit the bathroom at night light streams into the bedroom and wakes everyone up! Our room had some odd holes in the floor covered by the carpet that I kept catching my toes on as well. During our stay we were out for a whole day and on return to our room it hadn’t been made up or towels refreshed necessitating a visit to reception to request this. Reception were very apologetic but really should’t need to do this in a 5 star property. So we ended needed to be out of our room again for a further period of time. Also during our stay our floor had a very strong smell of cannabis near our family room, not the best family experience. The hotel has a nice pizza restaurant attached but lacks an evening bar space (or any that we could find) to sit down prior to retiring in the evening. Overall a pleasant stay but not 5 star as we were expecting.

Sub par service, checked in on a Wednesday after traveling from Madrid. The first hiccup of the stay was the safe being broken, I called the front desk only to find that the phone cord was frayed and the staff member could not hear me. I finally got through and a technician was sent to repair the broken items in the room, this caused a 2 hour delay that prevented me from getting along with my day. The 2nd issue that came up was, our Room was overlooked by the cleaning crew twice. The final nail in the coffin was at checkout. I was told that I had a 4 euro balance for making a phone call, I politely told the lady that the only call made was to the front desk on my first day there. She proceeded to waiving the charge but upon arrival to the US the charge showed up on my Apple Card a day after. Would not be staying here when I go back to Barcelona.

I have stayed at the Meliá Sarriá when I go to Barcelona for 20 years, and for 17 exclusively because it is Alexis who is in charge of taking care of us, with his extraordinary professionalism, dedication, enthusiasm and elegance. He is the soul of the hotel and it is thanks to him that we will always return. Thank you very much once again! On the other hand, this year it is worth noting that, at last, they have dedicated a little money to soundproofing the rooms (at least, ours), which with the commotion on Av. Sarriá is very appreciated. Now we just need to renovate the bathrooms... I recommend staying in The Level rooms, especially because The Level lounge has gone up several levels, both in service, product and schedules, all thanks to the excellent management of Hugo, a great professional who takes care of personally and with great involvement that everything was always in perfect magazine condition and he treated us every day with his kindness and kindness (especially nice detail that there were PAPER newspapers). In short, a great pleasure and a great experience in our home when we go to Barcelona. Until next time!

its about 20 mins north of the city centre. you can get a 67 bus into the city centre for €2.55 just tap your visa card as you get on, the bus stop is on diagonal 200 metres away and gets you there in 25mins. the hotel is certainly not 5 star as claimed but a decent 4 star. no pool but a modest spa. its a bit noisy as double glazing overlooking road is only 12mm so maybe bring some ear plugs. theres nothing touristy to walk to in this area but they do good business with coach tours etc. breakfast is unremarkable but ok. our room was fine, ticked the boxes. its centrally controlled aircon, no opening windows but worked ok. they provide you with a couple of little cans of water on your first night only but there is a small supermarket in the building opposite where you can buy 5l containers. i was surprised by their water policy to be honest. shout out to javier on reception for enthusiastic help on where to go in barcelona, without him we would have struggled the in house italian restaurant appears to be semi independent and was first class service food and price bottom line its a transit hotel not a destination hotel

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay. We're thrilled to hear that you had a pleasant overall experience with us and our in-house Italian restaurant, offering authentic gastronomic experiences, met your expectations with exceptional service, food, and value. It's also wonderful to know that Javier at reception provided you with enthusiastic and helpful insights for your Barcelona adventures. We, however, regret to hear that aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations. While our central air conditioning system is designed to ensure guest comfort, we apologize if this caused any inconvenience. Additionally, we offer a serene experience at our YHI SPA, which includes a heated indoor swimming pool, contrary to the impression that there's no pool. Finally, we are located in the vibrant business area, close to Camp Nou, and our proximity to public transport facilitates exploration of Barcelona's rich offerings. We are hoping to welcome you back in the future. All the best. Alexis Mazorra Sánchez Guest Service Manager Meliá Barcelona Sarrià 5*

As the initial statement says... the pillows are great, along with the bed size and mattress comfort BUT... there are things that should improve considering that it is a 5 STAR Hotel. The bathroom in room 907, although large, the shower leaves much to be desired in terms of maintenance, water leakage and rusty hinges. The street noise, being on the ninth floor, it's like you're on the second floor. The enclosures leave much to be desired. Last but not least, the theme of the breakfast buffet.... Although the manager/responsible in the dining room that day was very friendly, she could not replace the fact that the staff on the board was unpleasant. Turns out the bacon was burnt and I asked, please if you could make me a few less made pieces.. The reaction of the cook along with another person who came out of the kitchen was ... comment... FOR TASTES COLORS.. God... but if the tray was overflowing and no one dared take a piece... Juice area and glassware in the cafeteria..... constantly empty... I'll tell you more... Just in front of where I was sitting, on a piece of furniture in plain sight were several dirty cloths, of those dark and grime, along with a spray bottle lying down, I suppose of some cleaning liquid...
I think it is advisable to make a point in these things if, we really want to give a good service to the customers, that they have a good experience and come back one and a thousand times
Greetings

Great room, good looking hotel, good location, great staff (housekeeping, breakfast). Infact the staff were great!! Hotel room was nice. One major concern. The hotel nickel and dimes you for drinking water. You have to pay for cans of cold water. Despite reserving 2 rooms and spending over $3000 for our stay, providing a few cans of chilled water a day should not be a problem (negligible cost to hotel). But instead, when requested at the front desk, I was recommended to drink tap water (warm) from the bathroom. This is not about sustainability, this is about comfort. The sheer unwillingness to provide a simple service of cold drinking water for a family that stayed there for 6 nights in 2 rooms is the only reason the hotel received 2 star. Hope management at the hotel takes notice.

The restaurant staff (Hola Ricardo!) is fabulous! They went out of their way to be kind and attentive, going so far as to give us an ice pack nightly for my spouses knee injury. We were also taken care of by the concierge, who recommended a delicious restaurant for dinner that ended up being our best meal during our visit to Barcelona.
My review is lacking a star because of the accommodations. While the lobby is bright and updated, the hallways and rooms are dark, old, and in need of attention with worn furniture and fixtures. Our room smelled like it had been sealed up for an extended period of time. The shower is oddly designed with no shelf for your personal toiletries. Shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner were provided.
The included breakfast was typical and decent in its simplicity. Set in a bright, clean dining room, it was a nice way to begin a day of tourism.
Dark and unattractive rooms aside, the staff was truly remarkable. Upon a renovation, we would stay again.

Centrally located for business or pleasure, this hotel is the perfect place for you! The service at the front desk, the breakfast, the restaurant, and the GM were over the top helpful and professional! We appreciated an arranged taxi service when we arrived and departed to BCN airport...especially helpful when we had extra bags and not familiar with the city!
The hotel on the outside is an older building, but the updated modern decor on the inside was top notch throughout. Our room was so incredibly comfortable with high end bedding, lighting, towels, and cleaned to perfection with great protocols for our newest pandemic. Extra lovely details to make our stay incredibly comfortable.
Food was DELICIOUS. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet, The Level Lounge, the restaurant and all was over the top fresh and tasty with local flare. We loved the restaurant were we enjoyed the flavors from their michilen starred chef! We had an early morning flight back to the US and they even prepared a picnic box for us with a coffee togo!
Service beyond belief! So many choices of hotels...but this is what sets this hotel apart...the Christines at the front desk, the servers at the restaurant, the Level Lounge, the breakfast room were amazing and SO accommodating. Bravo to Marc Passola, the Manager who leads this fine group and shows such compassion for running and caring about his staff and this property!

Hi Ian, you can get a metro, it won’t take you direct to the hotel but you can get a tram which is close to the hotel with a very short walk. Drassenes to Maria Cristina on the metro and then on ground level Maria Cristina to Frances Macia on the tram. Taxi might be easier if you have lots of luggage. Hope this helps.
Best options for transfer could be taxi. Please for more information do not hesitate to contact us, we are entirely at your service.
Kind regards,
