We picked this B&B based on the reviews we read here, and were not disappointed!! Email communication back and forth was prompt - usually within the hour. Instructions for arriving by various means, including photos, were promptly sent. What makes this place so unique is the quality of the service and hospitality of Pablo and Anna. They provide the perfect...

I stayed at El Balcon for a week in December with a friend and was completely happy with the B&B. Pablo is, as so many people have said, extremely helpful and friendly and has lots of good advice on restaurants and things to see. Breakfast was good--the coffee was amazing. The rooms were clean, the bed very comfortable, the bathroom...

The B&B has a great location in the El Born neighborhood in the old city. Lovely room, we even had a small balcony. The proprietors, Pablo and Anna, are charming, enthusiastic and very very helpful in suggesting things to do and places to dine. My only, small, complaints are: The bathrooms are not en suite and the breakfast is sparse...

My wife and I stayed here in November 2012 for 4 nights. This is an older building but it has a BRAND NEW elevator installed so not to worry about carrying your luggage up several flights of stairs!!! The location was fantastic (near the port) and Anna and Pablo were great hosts. Anna supplied a list of places to eat,...

Probably the best thing about this delightful b & b is its proprietor, Pablo, who with his girlfriend Ana painstakingly renovated the place a couple of years ago. (Ana was out of town during our stay, so I didn't get to meet her.) This is not io give short shrift the accommodations themselves: the very attractive rooms are clean, spacious...

I stayed at El Balcon del Born for 8 nights in December. I was a woman traveling alone, so I was looking first for a safe and central location. This location can't be beat. Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighborhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
