Friendly and helpful upon check in. Breakfast was included for elite members, but the food & selection was limited and average tasting. Not the friendliest of staff. Rooms were underwhelming for the design/size of the room was identical to an AC Marriott that we stayed in in another part of Spain. I expected the rooms to be more upscale since...

I have stayed at this property before, & I booked again because it is centrally located, has comfortable rooms, a very nice breakfast (that is included if you are Gold or Platinum with Marriott - not sure of the price if not), and best of all - a wonderful rooftop deck with amazing views of the city - (you can...

The Renaissance Hotel is modern with a minimalist feel - a great location in walking distance to many of the "must see" sites of Barcelona. I found the staff to be very helpful with directions and recommendations. The elevators are small but I think this is normal for many European hotels. The bar was warm and welcoming and I would definitely...

We stayed here on an extension for a cruise. We had a nice sized room and the hotel is conveniently located. We like to walk and we were able to walk to all the sites we wanted to see. Our room included breakfast and they had a nice breakfast.

We have stayed at the Renaissance Barcelona twice now, and have been quite pleased both times. The rooms are modern, well appointed and well maintained, everyone ion the staff with whom we interacted was well-trained helpful and very friendly, and the food and bar downstairs was more than acceptable for those nights that we chose not to go out to...

I am a huge fan of Marriott hotels, and am at gold level for life, based on total stays. And in general Renaissance hotels are first class. This one definitely is not. First, they have no executive or concierge lounge, which I found surprising as this is pretty standard with this brand. But the most striking dysfunction was the food...

Modern, full-service hotel with a great location. Friendly bar with good snacks. Victoria taught us Spanish while we sipped Verdejo. We had an exceptionally large room (#301) with a king bed, I believe one of the few kings in the hotel. Just a few things to be aware of: -the hotel has no concierge lounge -the hotel has a terrace...

Nice, clean rooms in a great location. We could walk easily to the Ramblas, Sagrada Familia and a bunch of other places. The area itself is quiet with restaurants, cafes, some supermarkets and other stores in close proximity. The staff was friendly and did their best to make us stay comfortable. The check-in process was a breeze, though we arrived...

Like in most cities, the location of the hotel you stay in is key and the Passeig de Gracia area is - hands down - the best part of the city for higher end travellers to stay in: it's within walking distance of most places you'll want to visit (including Casa Mila, Casa Batllo, Sagrada Familia, Rambla, Barrio Gottico, Cathedral,...

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
