I travelled to Barcelona with a friend and we were really overwhelmed when we were looking for a hostel to stay, with so many options available. But we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived to the hostel. Our room was clean, bright and simply, but nicely decorated. It was not the most spacious room I have ever stayed at, but...

expect a really small room and tenuous air conditioning. The location is close to Ramblas but also close to one of the dodgiest streets of Raval. Staff is really kind and wifi is working pretty good. Desk open 24 hours.

Great location. But room infested with moths, no air contionning, noisy patio with rude tourists, and very poor sound proofing. Staff doesnt really seem to care. Price is quite cheap. Might be interesting if you're not planning to have a good sleep.

This hostel is clean and located in the heart of La Rambla. Many restaurants and souvenir stores nearby. Walking distance to a metro line, the Aerobus (airport bus) and Hop on Hop off bus stops at Placa Catalunya, Paseig de Gracia, and the coastline. The only negative feedback is the walls are thin. The guy above me had his music...

Very nice staff, rooms are clean and the location is perfect if you are visiting Barcelona (literally one minute from the Rambla). However, the reason I only give two stars is due to the centralised air conditioning. I stayed at this hostal in August, but they turned the air conditioning off so during the day I couldn't have a siesta...

As I understood, this hotel is dorms for exchange students of the university. This means there is a breakfast which is restricted for them (at least when I was there), washing machines (on the roof). It is a pro that although it is a small room, there are desks you can sit and work/e-mail. I stayed there one night and...

We stayed there for 4 nights. The place was great, just a few steps far fron the Rambla Str and Licau Metro station. Never felt in danger, although we came home late. The staff was helpful, polite and did speak english! We stayed in a double room on the 5th floor with 2 disadvantages: There was annoying noice coming from water...

This was a last minute booking with not much availability in central Barcelona and I was encourgaed by the location, good value and Booking.com photos... however, the internal room I was allocated looked nothing like on the photos and felt more like a cell with a brick wall outside and quite claustrophobic. There was privacy film on the lower half...

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
