It's a small hotel. The room has the basic facilities we need. It is clean. Everything worked properly in room. I like the rain shower in the bathroom. The staffs are friendly and nice and always prompt to help us. Even though the breakfast, that is served from 7:30-11:30, is not that varied but it could make us full and... More

Great location. The room is a little tired but on the plus side there was a free safe a fridge and a kettle. Breakfast was adequate, if a little repetitive, when your there for more than 2 days. Very easy to walk to the main sights of Barcelona

Good hotel with perfect location in the city centre and a serviceminded staff. When visiting a big city like Barcelona you want to get as much out of the stay as possible and not spend time on buses or Metros to get to where you want to go. Hotel Urquinaona on Ronda de Sant Pere is located in the very... More

The location of this hotel is fantastic, pretty much right in the centre of town & right next to the Urquinaona metro station. The staff at reception where helpful & speak English quite well. We booked a twin room & were lucky to be given a triple instead so it was a bit bigger. Overall the place is dated but... More

It is a one star hotel, but absolutely good for people who arrive to Barcelona for sightseeing. It is central, Plaza Catalunya is a 3 minute walk. The rooms are not big, but for us it was not the point, because we spent time in the room only at night. It is very clean, staff clean it every day. The... More

I had an interesting experience in this hotel. I bought room for two person for three days from expedia and 1 day from another site. Our first room was for three person (I knew before I bought). And it was at the fifth floor. Second room was a double and it was at the second floor. Our first room had... More

sarcastic disinterested staff, worst of all was the room, no pretty balcony, window overlooked the alley way full of stinky garbage. view was ratty cement wall and bathroom reeked of mildew and mold, furniture was cheap old and beaten up. breakfast was for a european hotel quite tacky. tv was a few spanish channels. at some point saving a dollar... Great central location, comfortable bed, great shower. Breakfast was poor and disappointing TV, no English channels at all. Very handy for underground and most attractions. The staff were great bar one female who was easily the rudest receptionist we have ever come across. We had a problem with the safe and she could not have been less helpful and downright... More

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighborhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
