For budget class is very good! There was electric kettle available etc small things what you dont find in normal hotels. Even if toilet and shower is shared, it was very ok! (felt like it is our own). Also there is a sink in a room. And good location, of course. Also we did not have any big noises as... More

Plus: The staff - very helpful, most of all, David, who was very supportive with every request and tips&tricks to better enjoy the city. The proximity to the centre, the harbour and the beach. Clean rooms and private bathroom. Minus: The lack of a room view and natural light (I had a room over a rather dirty and dark patio). The... More

Location: Very good as close to parl-lel metro station and walking distance to las rambles. Area gets quite dirty and smelly at night. Room: Very basic, small but clean. I took ensuite option as don't like sharing bathroom. This was tiny and worn but clean enough despite shower being in very close proximity to toilet. Bed was surprisingly comfortable. Hospitality:... Pension Peiro is a great place to stay for a couple of days in Barcelona. The location is fantastic, close to metro station, nearby cafes, supermarkets and the Port. Nothing really bad to say about actual accommodation, just be warned that the reception is on the second floor and is where the Hostel Apolo door is as they are the... More

The place is flawless for a budget hostel. My room was spacious, clean and modern. The bathroom ditto. The wifi is good, the neighborhood is OK and the staff is very friendly. The area can be noisy at night but that's true for most of downtown.

My 1st time in Barcelona, this hostel is in a great location, only 10 minutes walk from La Rambla, 30/40 minutes walk from the beach. Bars and restaurants and shops within walking distance. The nearest metro is just around the corner, this is good for getting around Barcelona and is good value at only 2.15 Euro for a single trip/9.95... More

The location was great, rooms were clean and staff was excellent. That said this hotel is very noise and loud with echoes. Even with earplugs it is impossible to block out. I would not recommended this for any light sleepers.

Staying in Montjuic

Neighborhood Profile
Montjuic
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colorful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.
