Whilst badged as a hostel, La Isla is more akin to a guesthouse although without serving breakfast. It is also very well located, being directly outside Arc de Triomf and close to the stop of the same name on Line 1 of the Metro. Staff at check-in and during the stay were very friendly. Room was clean and, whilst we... More

Stayed here for 7 nights and as 7 nights in Barcelona hotels cost a lot we decided to book a hostel. This was a much cheaper option. It is extremely central, the staff are friendly are really helpful and speak good English. Our room was just what we needed with a balcony also! Very happy with our time here and... More

My husband and I stayed at La Isla for 4 days. We were sceptical about booking a hostal however all other accommodation was sooooo expensive! We stayed in a double room with an en suite. Positives.... The hostal is in a great location approximately 15 minute walk from La Ramblas and 20 minute walk to the beach. Staff were friendly... More

This was my 3rd or 4th visit (I go every years to the Spanish F1 GP). Again the rooms were clean, the staff friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Excellent location for my visit. A short walk to the Ramblas and it's nightlife. A short walk in the opposite direction to the bus station to get a coach to... More

La Isla, you were great to us! Do not be thrown off by the word hostel! It is an amazingly clean, friendly and welcoming place to stay with great sized rooms, we stayed in room 5 which was lovely and spacious with a private bathroom, room service every day which makes your bed up for you etc. There is a... Very friendly and helpful staff. We were lucky to get a room at the back and away from the traffic. Basic but absolutely fine. Comfortable and clean. Safe. Good location. Metro nearby and easy walk to the Old Town and beach. Didn't make full use of the terrace though and should have. Allowed to leave bags after checking out which... More

La Isla Hostel was great; Fernando was really helpful and friendly, as were all of the staff. The apartment with a shared bathroom was very clean and had a welcoming feel. Our group had 2 rooms and both were really clean and bright, everything feels well looked after. All the beds were comfortable. The room with the terrace was wonderful,... More

I really enjoyed my stay at La Isla Hostel. The room was exactly like my expectations and the whole hostel was cleaned every morning. The booking includes towels, a small tube of shampoo, free usage of wifi and the fridge in the hall. The hostel also has an excellent location because the metro station "Arc de Triomfe" is just 3... Rooms were simple and clean, everything you need for a good city trip. Staff is friendly and helps you out when needed. They took care of our luggage after arriving early. Our bags were at the top floor when we came back for the room key.

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
