Travelers' Choice
There are certain pleasures that are only available to those that stay at the Hotel Colón. For example, waking up early in the morning, crossing over to the window, pulling aside the curtains, and seeing the image of the Barcelona Cathedral bathed in the sun’s first rays. It’s an image that will fill you with energy throughout the whole day! Many of our 129 rooms in the hotel offer this privilege, in addition to amenities such as air-conditioning, telephone, LCD television with international channels, high-speed Internet, safety deposit box, a well-stocked mini-bar, and the finishing touches of a 4 star hotel. If you are traveling for leisure, after a nice shower and a full breakfast, you’ll find it convenient to have the main tourist attractions within walking distance. If you are traveling for professional reasons, having two ample lounges at your disposal offers you infinite options for any event, convention, business meeting, or celebration. In both cases, it’s good to know that, for lunch or dinner, you can depend on the excellent service at the Cathedral 1951 restaurant. All of these reasons make a stay at the Hotel Colón unforgettable. What more can you ask of a hotel?

Amazing hotel, paid for a cathedral view room and it was well worth it with stunning views of the cathedral and beyond. Always entertainment going on in the square below from men making huge bubbles, dancers and acrobats and talented musicians but once the windows were shut it was silent apart from the cathedral bells but I quite liked that. Excellent breakfast selection, husband has dietary intolerances but was able to eat well every day. All staff encountered were friendly from the doormen who always welcomed us back in the evening to the polite restaurant staff at breakfast. The maids attended our room everyday and left it spotless with fresh towels and the bathrobes and slippers were a nice touch. Yes the Wi-Fi was a bit sketchy and there were no English speaking channels on the tv but we were so tired from exploring this amazing city everyday that it didn’t bother us. Didn’t encounter any pick pockets or any trouble and felt very safe in the hotel. Would 100% recommend a stay here and if English don’t be put off by the name😂

Large and comfortable room, professional and friendly staff, excellent breakfast, preferential access to a roof terrace with a view, all on a historic square at a very reasonable price. Wifi in room had issues but was available in the lobby. Being in the heart of Barri Gotic was a unique pleasure; e.g., walking home from dinner one evening there were 3 gentlemen singing opera in an alleyway.

We are still here and enjoying the. Hotel. We are right across frm the cathedral and Central inn old town. I would stay here again. The hotel has a wonderful terrace overlooking the square in front of the cathedral. The hotel has excellent staff that are friendly and helpful.

We booked this hotel on the recommendation our parents who stayed here a few years ago (prior to COVID). The hotel is lovely. It’s in a nice and convenient location of Barcelona. Accommodations were comfortable. There were a few little things that made our stay a little frustrating. The Wi-Fi is terrible – it just doesn’t work. This is challenging when traveling internationally with limited data. Other minor frustrations which aren’t worth mentioning, but also weren’t addressed by the hotel. That said, a lovely and generous breakfast is included each day. You must be so careful with belongings - including cell phones. A guest in our hotel had her phone snatched off of her table right in front of the hotel. Sadly, this is not uncommon.

We spent one night here after a cruise - wish we planned better, would loved to have stayed longer! This hotel is outstanding! First, the location is perfect. We had a view of the cathedral and it is stunning. Yes, Samsung has a large sign surrounding the renovation - but hey - someone has to help with the reno costs! lol However, the plaza and location cannot be beat. Second, the hotel is beautiful ! Spotless. The room was large, and we had robes and slippers and other amenities. The 7th floor outdoor tapas/cocktail was gorgeous - we had the perfect weather, so we did luck out there. Most importantly, the staff was amazing. The customer service is impeccable. Highly, highly recommend you stay here.

This Hotel is perfectly located in front of the Cathedral of Barcelona. The street and rooftop bar views are amazing! The rooms are very clean and completely acceptable. Modern bathrooms and good quality bed linens. The room service every morning was very fast and very well managed - we would have breakfast in the hotel and by the time we got back to our room it was already made up! Highly recommend this hotel as a perfect central location for exploring historic Barcelona!

Absolutely beautiful hotel in an equally beautiful location. The staff upon meeting were keen to help and provide a map with directions to the most visited sightseeing spots. The only down side was the lack of room service and hotel bar closing at 10pm.

Spent one night at Hotel Colon after cruise. Paid extra for view of cathedral only to find church undergoing renovation and large Samsung sign blocks view of church. VERY NOISY outside. Music and yelling after midnight. Never got to sleep until 1am for a 7am flight. Beds were like trampolines. Very cheap pillows. Shower was ridiculous. No shower curtain or doors. Water goes all over bath floor into carpeting hallway. Carpet was soaked when we checked in. AC vent blows right on beds. Gave me sinus headache and I came home from trip with sinus infection. I tried speaking to manager, was told he was on "holiday". Several follow up emails ignored. Hotel clearly wants your Euros and doesn't give a rip about your comfort.

My family and I stayed in three simple modern rooms that were clean and adequate for spending four nights. We did not use any of the hotel's amenities, so I cannot comment on those. The location, however, is superb for exploring the Gothic Neighborhood. Additionally, the staff was super helpful recommending local events in nearby neighborhoods and a great paella restaurant - Restaurant Cadaques Barcelona. If you're looking for a place to drop off your bags and check out the town, this is it!

Stunning hotel in great location We recently stayed in a family room at this hotel and cannot fault it. Brilliant location opposite the Cathedral in the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona; stunning views of the cathedral from the top floor bar and balcony. Our family room was really spacious with two large double beds and a dream bathroom (huge walk-in shower and double basins).Service was great and we were able to store our bags before leaving the hotel. The rooftop area is a great touch; there is a very small pool which is probably better for dipping your feet into but also very welcome especially considering how hot Barcelona was! We paid for breakfast for one morning: there was a great spread (including help yourself to Prosecco!), But two of our party didn’t eat much breakfast it probably wasn’t worth the money for us as a family.
