There are certain pleasures that are only available to those that stay at the Hotel Colón. For example, waking up early in the morning, crossing over to the window, pulling aside the curtains, and seeing the image of the Barcelona Cathedral bathed in the sun’s first rays. It’s an image that will fill you with energy throughout the whole day!
Many of our 129 rooms in the hotel offer this privilege, in addition to amenities such as air-conditioning, telephone, LCD television with international channels, high-speed Internet, safety deposit box, a well-stocked mini-bar, and the finishing touches of a 4 star hotel.
If you are traveling for leisure, after a nice shower and a full breakfast, you’ll find it convenient to have the main tourist attractions within walking distance. If you are traveling for professional reasons, having two ample lounges at your disposal offers you infinite options for any event, convention, business meeting, or celebration. In both cases, it’s good to know that, for lunch or dinner, you can depend on the excellent service at the Cathedral 1951 restaurant.
All of these reasons make a stay at the Hotel Colón unforgettable. What more can you ask of a hotel?
The roof-top bar has to have one of the best views in Barcelona, with a birds-eye view of the Cathedral. We had visited the Cathedral much, much earlier in the day so it was a very nice way to finish the day by sitting on the roof top bar, with a drink and seeing the Cathedral from from a whole new perspective. The bar is on the seventh floor. It gets quite busy and by late afternoon when we arrived, the prime positions at tables around the edges were already taken. There are two levels and we ended up sitting on the higher level at the back where there were still some free seats left. We didn't have the view from there but we still enjoyed the drinks and atmosphere. It was a very pleasant way to spend an hour or so.
I've spent a week in this hotel, visiting Barcelona with my son. It has a magnificent location - right in front of the Gothic Cathedral, in the heart of the Gothic Quarter. The breakfast room at the ground floor is offering the view to the Cathedral and the terrace upstairs, at the 7th level is overlooking at the Cathedral. We've couldn't hope for something better. We were close to other main points of interest, half way in between Port Vell and Passeig de Gracia with Gaudi's La Pedrera or Casa Battlo. Cleaning was exceptional and the breakfast, served a la carte, due to Covid was also great with exceptional service. Definitely recommend this hotel and if we'll be back in Barcelona, we'll be back at this hotel.
The hotel staff was very friendly and arranged everything, we wanted. This is a perfect hotel in a perfect location. From here you reach all locations in the old town, nice Tapas restaurants, all kind of bars. The rooms are great and recently renovated. If you are catholic (like me) bells ringing from the cathedral nearby is a great noise. For all others: Just close the doors and you will sleep heavenly.
everything about our stay was positive. excellent and meticulous cleaning and hygiene in the hotel. Breakfast was table service, and had a great selection, with tables that look on to the cathedral. Rooms were spacious, ours looked on to the back of the hotel and had views of some pretty alleyways, the room had a balcony and had a lovely walk in shower, and twin sink, comfortable beds and spacious wardrobes. the location of the hotel was amazing looking on to the cathedral, and the roof top bar had the most amazing view of the cathedral and Barcelona. i'd highly recommend the hotel
First hotel stay since the easing of the restrictions in Barcelona and a new option as I have never stayed here before. The hotel only re-opened on July 1st so it still quiet but you felt safe as they have taken all the necessary protective measures. Checkin was quick, payment for the stay was charged as well as a small deposit of €20 per day held on your credit card for incidentals ( refunded when you checked out) . The room was gorgeous, spacious and very restful and well appointed. The beds were clean and comfortable , I had the best night’s sleep in a hotel for a long time ! The A/C was easy to use and pretty quiet, it kept the room lovely and cool, the windows were great , you could hardly hear anything from outside once they were closed. Amazing , considering you are in the middle of the city. The bathroom was modern, the shower was super easy to use, just push one button and that’s it !! No messing with any knobs or controls , the temperature was easy to adjust if you so wished. Double basin and lots of counter space for your toiletries. Plenty of complimentary shampoo, soaps and soft towels . They even provided 2 face masks which was useful as they are now mandatory while out in public in Barcelona. There was a mini bar, a coffee machine and also a kettle if you wanted to make tea, also included was 2 free bottles of water which was a nice touch. Wifi (free) was easy to connect to and reconnected straight away once you re-entered the hotel. Breakfast was included in the rate as I booked it direct online on their website. It was a real spread , eggs with bacon, fruit, pastries, toast, cheeses and cold meat selection and fresh tea or coffee and cava !! The selection of bread rolls was good too. Everything was delicious , all the portions were individually wrapped so there was no contamination. The cooked items once ordered were brought straight to your table. The staff were all attentive, nothing was too much trouble and they were more than happy to help. Friendly and they had good English as well as other languages I’m sure too ! The location is just perfect, right opposite the cathedral and what a view. Drinks on the terrace bar on the 7th floor was a perfect end to the day with mazing views. It is a super hotel in which I hope to return to next time I’m in town, it’s a great hotel and a perfect place to stay in Barcelona, Make a reservation and support the hotel, you’ll appreciate it.…
