Stopped in for two nights recently - well located in the Gothic quarter between 2 metro stations (a short 5-10 min walk to both). Exceptionally lively area in easy walking distance.
We were able to leave our bags until our room was ready - staff...More
Shared a twin room with my best friend on a 3 night break. Everything was top class. Loved the room, little balcony. Modern shower . Can't fault it. Very clean. We sat upstairs on the roof top one night, and tapas and drinks were brought...More
I was traveling by myself in Spain and while I know Barcelona pretty well, I wanted to stay some place safe and near the heart of the city. I happened upon this place and I could not have been happier. The room itself was small...More
the hotel is ok and the staff are lovely, however the rooms and other parts of the hotel are extremely old fashioned and definitely need a revamp for the prices charged.

With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local
musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.

I believe at least the first and second floors are done. They only renovate during the winter months. Check with hotel on which floors are renovated. We stayed on second floor and our room was brand new and beautiful. I think there were about 6 floors total but I don't remember exactly. We only had dinner in Gothic Quarter one night. We dined at a restaurant recommended by hotel that was nearby called Neyars. We enjoyed the food. The best meal we had was near the Mediterranean Sea at Port Olimpico. La Barca del Salamanca was recommended by a friend. The food and service were outstanding. It's a seafood restaurant.
