Casa Marcelo is a very comfortable place to stay in an excellent location. Next metro is 3 minutes on foot, beach in about 15 minutes on foot, directly in the beautiful old town of Barcelona. 3 minutes away is a coffee shop called "El Magnifico" (walk towards Jaime I, 50 m after Santa Maria del Mar on the left) with... The building is well located in the beautyfull Borne district, directly in the centre of Barcelona. Short ways to supermarkets, beach, a lot of restaurants and bars. The rooms are stylishly arranged, the service of the hosts is simply great.

Very nice room in great location! Close to Barceloneta, right in the Gothic quartier! Nice neighborhood, small streets with bars, restaurants and small shops. Walking distance to center. Living room with breakfast table, quite basic. Two bathrooms to be shared, cleaned once per day. One floor for 4 rooms and a kitchen, quite small halls to fit staff and residents... More

The guesthouse is absolutely beautiful and the location is beyond perfect! From the house there are eateries and bars and shops right out the front door, it is a quick walk to the beach and it is right next to one of the bus stops for all of the tourist buses. Right in the gothic quarter you can pop in... More

Marcelo and Victorio are excellent hosts, provided a warm welcome and as much information as you could want. Decor has personality! The rooms are clean and bright - about half have their own bathroom, which was important to us. Breakfast was not huge, but the orange juice, fresh bread and jams were just right to get us started in the... More

One of the best B&B's we've stayed at. We were warmly welcomed by Oliver who greeted us at the front door and helped us with our luggage. Once inside he explained everything in great detail and gave us a lot of information about Barcelona that was helpful for our stay. The rooms including the common areas were spotlessly clean and... Very nice, centrally located B&B! Quick walk to the Picasso Museum and other sights. The owners are very helpful and the rooms are very clean. Oliver gave us a map and outlined where many of the sights are and the best way to get there. The Metro is very user friendly, but we walked most places. The nightlife near the... More

This B&B located in the city centre is a beautiful place to stay. We got a warm welcome and a lot of information about the city. Our room and also the bathroom and dining room were very clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast was tasty and together with the other guests on a large table leads to interesting talks. Thank you... My 19 year old daughter and I book ended out trip to Costa Brava with one night before and two nights after staying at the lovely Casa Marcelo. We truly wish we could have stayed longer. Marcelo and Oliver are excellent hosts with many helpful tips and abundant good cheer. The rooms were spotless as was the shared bathroom. And,... More

We really enjoyed our stay in this place. Marcelo greeted us warmly and explained everything in detail. He also gave us very good recommendation for local restaurant. The apartment is clean and comfortable, decorated in a good taste. We will definitely recommend it: the first choice in Barcelona if you want good local experience.

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighborhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
