3 nights here in a family of 4 - very lucky to have a very nice room with a balcony. It was close enough to walk to Sagrada Familia, La Rambla, the Gothic Quarter and much more. A kettle with tea and coffee was available in a communal sitting room and there was a fridge that we kept a few... More

We enjoyed staying here. The staff was friendly and helpful with lots of tips on how to get places. The location is great within easy walk to metro. We had a room facing the street but street noise was never a problem. The room was very clean and nice quaint features. Would stay here again

Basic hostel Quaint features Quaint rooms Clean - friendly staff Would be a problem if lift did not work Upmarket for students Quirky change for those used to more Affordable for those who want a longer stay as opposed to a shorter - more luxurious stay. Reasonable central Not far from familias and not far from old town

Service below average and unhelpful, staff are not very good at speaking conversational English (despite everything written around the hotel being in English). Entrance hard to access and located inside a hostel of considerably lesser quality than the actual hotel (sticky bannisters and musky smell included). Parking almost non-existent and particularly troublesome if you have mobility problems (a short walk... More

This small hotel is well located just a few stops out of the centre of Barcelona on the Metro. The rooms are clean, neat and well priced. We had a little balcony overlooking the main road. I was concerned by the amount of traffic passing but once the doors and windows were closed there was no noise. There were two... More

Very tiny room -approximately 12' x 12', which is not unusual for Europe. Really quite comfortable if you're spending all your time sightseeing anyway. Also a tiny private bathroom but very functional. Reception office across the street. A little hard to find but the receptionist was friendly and helpful with printing some tickets that we had ordered online. Very close... More

Excellent location. The staff is very friendly and helpful in providing information on how guests can easily visit the city. Free coffee and tea available to all, gives you a quick revival. Hostal's ambient atmosphere fits very well with ambient area in which they are. I wish I could repeat this experience!

Central location. Metro station and bus stop right outside the door. Everyday cleaning. Very polite and helpfull personnel. Maybe a restoration could help but its ok. The beds are for people of maximum height 1.85 m. Extremelly recommended.

Had everything we needed, store outside, cafe on the door step. Great breakfast. Did the tour bus thing and was great value too. The staff were so friendly, all staff there. Not just the receptionist. Felt safe traveling alone with my two teenagers.

We booked a 4 night stay at the cheapest lodgings we could find to be near to the bus station as my colleague has a bit of difficulty walking and we didn't really expect a lot since it was only a hostal. We now know that a hostal isn't a hostel but an often cheaper hotel option in Spain. It... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
