Our room was the smallest I have ever experienced! It was very uncomfortable to move around, there was no place to pack things from our luggage, so we kept everything in the suitcases. However as much as we love Barcelona, we did not spend a lot of time in the hotel room and the location of the hostel is perfect.... More

GREAT location. It's in a quaint street that isn't too busy but still has shops and cafés. The rooms are fairly small, but it's fine for a short visit. There is also no air conditioning, but they did have a big fan in the room. We had a private bathroom, which I definitely recommend getting.

Hostal Santa Ana provides reasonably priced accommodation right in the heart of Barcelona. Located just off of La Ramblas, within walking distance of the beach, the gothic quarter and numerous metro stations, it really is in a prime location. The rooms, while small, are clean (tidied daily). Being on the top floor could be an issue with a suitcase due... More

Many of them people don't speak English but rooms are very clean. Everyday we were finding the room comfortable. You can book a room with private toilet to feel nice. The WiFi is open all day and all night. Its in the center of the city and has easy access to the sightseeing

The Positives: Very easy to find (helpful when arriving off a late flight) and late check in not a problem. Superb location. Bathrooms and room spotless (but on the shabby side). Wifi worked in the room. Good luggage storage while we had a day 'walking' Barcelona Great price for a room so close to the Rambla's. Negatives: Our room had... More

Great location and great value for money. Very friendly staff. I visited Barcelona with my girlfriends and it was a fantastic place to stay for a long weekend. Three of us we shared a one room. Perfect location is a bonus. Clean.

Hostal Santa Anna is located only few meters away from La Rambla and Placa Catalunya, which is great. Although the staff does not speak English very well, they are very friendly and willing to help. We were staying in double room with private bathroom and it was very clean and great value for money.

The only reason this place is so popular is that it is so close to the heart of the city. The room shape is very weird and difficult to navigate around. The staff don't speak much english. They have twin rooms but the beds are not together, and you cannot book just one bed. There is no air conditioning and... More

I don't normally give negative review, but when I do, it really means how bad a service is. First, the place does not have any elevator and we had to climb the stairs up to third floor. Staff has rude manners and refused to help us with our baggages. Secondly, the place is poorly maintained, toilet and room is dirty.... More

Arrived here late at night with friends after our plane landed. When we first arrived there was quite a lot of confusion as apparently we had no booking! I loaded up my email and gave the guy my reservation number and showed him the email but the only reservations coming up on the hostel system were for other people. After... More

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
