This is a lovely little hotel just steps from the Barcelona Cathedral. The surrounding streets are interesting, charming: twisting mixes of medieval stone, museums, and modern shops. You can walk to Picasso museum, Placa de Catalunya, Ramblas, and the cathedral, of course. The room was large and modern with excellent service. Very nice breakfast. I gave them 4 instead of 5 stars because of a few, admittedly picky things. We had a couple of minor issues with the front desk, both of which may have been our fault because we were too last minute, but in both cases I wish they had told me that. One was when we asked for dinner recommendations for that evening. All of the nearby restaurants they recommended were unable to seat us, and we were starving by the time we found something. The other was one morning when we asked for a taxi, which we had been told upon arrival that they could do. We had a timed entrance to Park Guell. They were unable to get one and told us to walk down to a main street; no big deal, but we were walking 12-15 miles per day so saving any steps was our preference. (BTW, taxis are tricky here and some did not want to drive around the winding back streets to drop at hotel door...the price you pay for such a picturesque location). The other minor issue was the rooftop pool. We usually wouldn't care about that, coming from a warm climate full of pools and beaches, but the heat was pretty intense and we thought the view would be nice for a drink, maybe a quick dip. The pool area is quite compact and when we got off the elevator, everyone literally stared at us. It was bizarrely uncomfortable. We walked down the row of chairs, spotted 2 empty ones, asked if they were being used and was told they were, that people were coming back. It was just really unwelcoming, with very little shade and not enough room. So we left!…
Location is terrifica, just 1 minute from Cathedral and close to evrything -- all attractions, airport bus, Metro, Old Town, La Rambla, Eixample etc. Friendly staff, very nice modern decor. Would highly recommend
Based on reviews on TA we decided to stay at this fine hotel after a 10 day cruise ending in Barcelona. We had a great time in this great city and the hotel was truly outstanding. Location: the CC is located at a terrific location (Bari Gotic) walking distance to many of the best sights and restaurants. We could not think of a finer location to see Barcelona on foot or in close proximity of tourist or public transportation and many great places to dine. Staff: We classify the hotel as a boutique hotel with nicely sized rooms with very nice amenities. The housekeeping staff is absolutely excellent, they are hard working and will keep your room in immaculate condition during your stay. The desk staff are very helpful and will be glad to help you with directions to sites or restaurants and assist in obtaining necessary transportation to airports or tourist sites. The bartenders and wait staff are personable, engaging and seemed truly concerned with us enjoying our stay. Food: The breakfast is truly outstanding. CC has anything you could possibly want for breakfast including eggs, meats, waffles, quality pastries, fruits, bacon, sausages and breads. Two coffee machines which will make you any type of coffee you will want. There are a number of fresh fruit and juice choices. We had a rainy evening one of our nights and did not want to leave the hotel and also decided to dine in the hotel on our last evening to get ready for an early departure. The hotel dinner food was very great and the service was also outstanding. We chose sole rather than the traditional tapas that we had had at many of the Barcelona eateries and the presentation and service could not have been better. The service, food and wine prices were excellent. Pool area: We did not make use of the small outdoor pool area because we spent most of our days sightseeing in this enchanting city but on our last day we went up to the outdoor pool and bar area there and had cocktails. These areas are fabulous and the bartender was truly engaging. It is a great outdoor space on the 4th floor of the hotel that is a fun place for great cocktails. We had wished we had stopped there for happy hour before dinner on more than one occasion. If you are a sun worshipper this area is quite nice for a boutique hotel. The outdoor bartender was a true professional who was a lot of fun. Price point and rooms : In our opinion the price point is great for a truly quality hotel with great service. The rooms while being in the center of all the action are very quiet and the beds extremely comfortable and the service exceeds the value We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the CC and this will be our home when we come back to this great city. We would highly recommend to TA readers, we can't wait to stay there again. This will be our new home when we come to Barcelona.…
This was a stopover enroute to our cruise. We chose the Catelonia Catedral because of previous visits to the hotel, and we were no disappointed. Friendly staff, great room, an a convenient location made this a perfect choice.
Great location. Clean and modern hotel. Spacious room with all we needed. Very helpful staff. Only comment would be to put handrail for access to the pool. Excellent Dover sole and Iberian ham served in the reastaurant and at a reasonable price.
I loved this hotel. The room was clean, and the bed was firm, I slept really well. The room was tiny. There are other rooms in the hotel that are much larger. You should look into this when booking. The location is excellent. The breakfast was fine but not unique. There are many places nearby for coffee and pastry.
What an amazing experience!! All of the hotel staff are wonderful to be around and willing to give advice on local restaurants. The purpose for my stay was adversary considering my passport was stolen, but the front desk staff printed the documents I sent them that I would need to get my passport. They were never inconvenience by anything I asked. Working for a major airline as a flight attendant, I know what it takes to give excellent customer service, and let me just say that this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at! Worth every penny!
Excellent overall experience.. Staff very professional and helpful when needed. Food was tasty and good service. Hotal located in an excellent location allowing walking to many historic sites. Would definantly repeat if visiting Barcelona again.
In my opinion, best hotel in Barcelona! This was our fourth stay at this hotel. We stay here because of the location, the facilities and the staff. The location is perfectly located to everything. Close to the train station, walking distance to Los Ramblas, shopping, everything. The hotel is wonderful. Great pool and great dining options. We enjoyed the breakfast and there is plenty of gluten free options for those who need it (me)! We love the bar area and the staff is wonderful. We will always stay here!!!!
We had the best, friendly, life saving reception from Davido and front desk staff.
