The hotel is small and inviting, not far off a small rambla with lots of shops and restaurants, though more of a neighborhood shopping district than The Ramblas. Also, from the hotel, you are a handful of blocks from the beach and a long, pleasant walking path along the coast. The staff are friendly and helpful. We had three or...

We spotted this place on previous visits to Barcelona's likeable Polblenou district on previous visits to the city and wanted to give it a try. It's a simple, well maintained B&B with good sized rooms, spacious bathrooms and a pleasant dining area, especially the terrace section. Breakfast is very nice indeed with the freshly prepared scrambled eggs a highlight. It's...

I found these people very efficient to deal with when making booking. I had to change dates marginally and they arranged it without difficulty. The room we ended up in was the Pau Casals on the third floor and it was very adequate. If one is challenged by stairs would not be for you. It was simply furnished and spotless...

We at stayed Hostal Poblenou for the last 9 days of June, and what a wonderful 9 days they were! It's a beautiful and original piece of 1930's architecture, original fixings and features kept just as they were when built. The decor has been kept simple and neutral and suits the area and the building. Our room was a nice...

Had a three night stay In Hostal Poblenou on 25th Feb. Lovely quiet B&B just off Poblenou Rambla and only 100 meters from seafront. Very friendly staff with good English and very helpful with all aspects of our stay. Will go again.

This slightly off the beaten path B&B couldn't have been better. A lovely room with an excellent bed, a nice breakfast, close to the beach, and surrounded by lots of bars and restaurants that serve the local community as well as tourists. And a perfectly charming and helpful staff. Highly recommended.

My husband and I are glad we stayed out of the centre of Barcelona in this delightful suburb which was easy to reach by metro. At least we encountered many locals and didn't feel surrounded by other tourists. The owners and staff are kind and helpful, the breakfasts are excellent and the nights peaceful. It is unpretentious but comfortable.

This B&B is pretty close to perfect... wonderful location and great neighbourhood, charming, friendly and helpful people, and a great breakfast. Good transit is close by and I walked in one direction tote Barcelona Convention Centre and the other way into the old parts of the city. The little community of shops and restaurants half a block over was interesting...

I love the kitties. I love the breakfast. I love Mercedes. I love the wonderful beds. I love the fantastic bathrooms. I love the proximity to the beach at a reasonable price. I love the bar across the street and the one downstairs. I love the place. I've stayed twice and will stay there again.

Staying in Poblenou

Neighborhood Profile
Poblenou
The futuristic Agbar Tower stands out from Barcelona's skyline in Poblenou. It is no coincidence then that this area of town is the newly crowned technological park of the city, its own mini Silicon Valley containing a tech incubator (Barcelona Activa) as well as a host of local and international high tech companies. To accommodate the onrush of new residents and workers, the area of Poblenou has seen a surge of activity in new high-rise residential buildings and two top-notch shopping centers catering to everyone's need. The ambiance of this area is calmer than the city center and the beautifully relaxing Bogatell Beach, popular with locals, is just a handful of blocks away.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The house was built in 1930 and has been completely refurbished. We’ve kept all the original elements that give it that special character and style, for example the ceiling’s heights, the coloured mosaic floors, etc… but of course, we given special care to the fact that a good rest is essential. In this sense, the rooms are cosy, the beds comfortable, and we provide eiderdowns in winter months, and fresh cotton sheets for the summer ones. To transmit a feeling of harmony, light colours predominate in all our rooms. The rooms are equipped with television, air conditioning and heating. For those travelling with their laptops we provide Wi-Fi area, but if you just want to check your e-mail, we have a shared terminal with internet connection... everything with no extra charge. The house was built in 1930 and has been completely refurbished.
