We recently travelled to Barcelona to start a 12 day cruise to celebrate my parents 60th wedding anniversary. A total of 14 family members and friends stayed at the Amister Apartments for two days prior to our cruise in three apartments on the second floor. Due to a 12 hour flight delay, we arrived at the hotel around 11pm. We...

Arrived there for Easter weekend. First went to the Amister Hotel because we were arriving before 1600. There they told us, there was already someone at the Apartments, so, with 3 children and luggage got into another taxi, who, in retrospect, made us pay too much for the short ride. At the apartments, doors closed, no one answering the bell....

What a great place to stay. If you visit Barcelona to see the sights and want to stay down town, you cannot go wrong with the Amister Apartments. At the end of the building is the metro (at the corner of La Ramba) and the stop for the tour bus. There is a grocery shop really close by and the...

This apartment is located just off the Ramblas - close enough to it, Placa de Catalunya, and train lines without a lot of congestion. Very clean, modern living space fully equipped with kitchen and laundry, as well as free internet and flat screen cable TV. Bedroom is lovely, roomy, couches pull out for extra sleeping space. The staff is helpful...

We used 'Amistér Apartments' - run by 'Amistér Hotel' - for a family week-end getaway in Barcelona and were very happy with both the flat and the service (Ariadna in particular was extremely helpful). The apartments occupy two floors of a building located on Carrer Pelai, a few steps from Plaça Catalunya & the top of La Rambla. Location is...

I stayed with my friends at the apartment for 2 nights when I went to watch U2 360. When checking in, I was told that the apartment that I booked may not be available as the prior guest would like to extend their stay, so I was asked if I mind staying at a larger room for the first night...

We travelled to Barcelona for my hen weekend, and were really please we booked accommodation at Amister Apartments. The location is fantastic, central to everything, only a few steps away from Las Ramblas & Placa de Catalunya, with great public transport links which will take you to anywhere in the city. There is also a tourist bus stop just outside...

We booked 3 apartments for a friend's hen weekend and we were very impressed. The bedrooms and bathrooms are great (all new modern furniture) and once inside the apartments are very quiet even though they are on a relatively busy road. We booked the rooms directly and managed to get a better deal than booking though an agent. I'd definitely...

Excellent location at the top of Las Ramblas. Myself and two friends stayed in a studio apartment with two twins and a sofa bed. The apartment had all mod cons (although no kettle) and the location was fantastic. Had black out blinds as well (a neccessity in the heat and if you want to sleep until midday!). You have to...

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
