El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.

During our European stay over for few days, we slept 2 nights in the this hotel and it was quite a nice experience for us. The rooms are very nice, clean, and modern. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooftop bar just topped everything off as the views and cocktails were amazing! Also, it offers very nice views of the City.

Due to the virus we sadly had to cancel our stay! Firstly, I have had such difficulty trying to get back the money from previous hotels who were using the same excuse as “it is out of our hands”. This hotel was incredibly, they replied quickly, and were incredibly efficient. When we return to barcelona when the virus is over, we will certainly use this hotel, simply because of how well they treat their customers!! 5 stars!!!

During this crazy time, it is nice to see that hotels such as this establishment worry about the health of their guests and the world before money. My husband and I had planned a trip to this hotel-attracted by the ambiance and adults only aspect-for July 2020 to celebrate our two year anniversary. Unfortunately due to covid we are not able to travel from NYC to Barcelona this summer. The hotel was extrememly understanding and timely with their response. It is SO appreciated and shows the high quality customer service! We look forward to coming to Barcelona and staying at Hotel Rec in the future! Thank you!

This hotel is located in the beautiful area of the ''Arco de Triunfo'' of Barcelona. The room was very clean and cozy. There is a nice swimming pool on the rooftop with a view on the city, we enjoyed this rooftop even in March because the temperature was already good. The staff is very kind and when we had to go back to France sooner because of the Corona virus, the manager of the hotel and his staff were available and helpful. We will definitely come back there on our next trip to Barcelona.

WOW this hotel was pretty amazing, clean, people that worked there were so relaxed, helpful and nothing was a problem. Alexandra at the reception was incredible (well they all were) but Alexandra called the room once we got to it... timing of the essence to check if all was ok. The room was upgraded and there was a wonderful bottle of champagne on ice waiting for us. Thank you you very much. The room was clean and equipped with all we needed, the WiFi and in ceiling speakers were top class. The people working in the bar area at the roof top were great too and made everything just great, morning breakfast was all set up with hot and cold and healthy options. Views from the roof top were wonderful. The hotel was central enough to get around Barcelona by foot, metro or bus. 2 min walk from the arc de triomf and a 20-30 min walk to center but as we next to the gothic quarter food and restaurants were so plentiful. Thank you for a great trip to Barcelona hotel REC you made it for us, we’ll be back as there is loads still to do and tick of the Barcelona bucket list... see you again in the near future.
