I booked the Hotel Barcelona Princess for my upcoming conference (ICASSP 2020). The meeting is moved to on-line session due to COVID-19 situation. I contacted the hotel for a refund. The staff there understands the situation and will refund my reservation ASAP. Great customer service. I will definitely stay there for my next trip to Barcelona.
My company booked 6 rooms totalling approximately €4,000 for a 3 night stay in April for 6 of our employees attending a conference. The conference was cancelled this week due to the coronavirus and I tried to get a refund from hotel under the extraordinary circumstances. The refused out right to even consider any type of refund whatsoever. We are a small company and this size of cost is significant to say the least. I’d certainly be very very careful of booking this hotel with this type of attitude.
The hotel is quite dramatic to look at and is in the Forum part of Barcelona. Good tram and train service is nearby. Rooms were adequate and cleaned daily. View would have been brill , we were on 17th floor, but sadly we were looking at another tall building that made the room dark and view less . The shower was an amazing pressure but leaked into the toilet and bathroom ! Nightmare clean towels if requested daily Didn’t stay for breakfast so can’t comment thought it was expensive 25 euro - local shopping parade close by and had it there for 5 euro. Unable to comment on price of hotel as was a gift Mini bar filled everyday - it holds 2 bottles of water one each of still and sparking 1 lemon tonic 1 coke and 1 beer Pool closed which was a shame as we had beautiful weather The only staff we had dealings with were the reception staff who I found almost to a point rude. Not acknowledging you seemed a inconvenience when we spoke and was on a whole very unhelpful. This was made worse at best there was always 4 plus staff just chatting to themselves They do not exchange English pounds but there is a cash machine in the lobby - at a cost All in all I fell felt it had a business feel to the hotel and not catered for holiday makers. No advice guidance map on hand bar a tube map to support your planning of trip Would I stay there again no - I prefer to be a little closer to the main part of Barcelona, hotel approx 30-40 mins away on tram- and the hotel did not promote a holiday vibe so felt unwelcome.…
Stayed here for a trade event in February for 4 nights and upgraded to an executive room which was on floor 17. The room was large with a balcony. The bathroom has a large window so you could see the city from the bath which was cool. The ceilings had all been painted black which looked shabby as the paint was also on the walls etc. The bed was standard and the free mini bar only contained 1 beer and 1 water. It’s a no frills basic hotel but did the job for the time i was there.
Amazing Hotel, we got a room in the top floor with an amazing view over Barcelona. Super friendly stuff everywhere. Super kind bartender. We can only recommend this place to stay. A nice pool in floor 23 and 3 a clean sauna as well. About the food we cannot say anything because we used our time to eat nearby. Our shower cabine didn't close was fixed within a short time. Of course in some corners of the room you can see some hints of using but the room itself was clean. Thanks for a wonderful stay. We will come back for sure
