Everything you’d expect from the folks at Soho House. Beautiful building and decor in a great location with a warm (way too cool for school) team. I have 5 Instagram followers including my mum, yet didn’t feel out of place. We had a ‘tiny’ room that was quirky, comfortable with an awesome shower! A good base with most the day and night out and about in the city. A huge selection of Cowshed bath products was a nice addition along with a cocktail making station. Gym was well equipped with high end treadmills. The food was excellent in Cecconi’s, the Sole was delicious as was the the Guazzetto. Extensive wine list. All contributed to a great weekend in a wonderful city.
I arrived with my partner to Soho House Barcelona, knowing the brand well and appreciating that although the ‘hard product’ environment is always great, the ‘soft product’ service is not always quite as consistent. However, the ‘soft product’ was consistent at this hotel. Consistently awful. From the moment we arrived, we had lots of smiles with uncouth and sometimes quite frankly rude interactions with staff. I was embarrassed at times for the Soho House brand. Members of the bar staff would regularly not even attempt to make eye contact. ‘Yeah, buddy’ in a muttered unfriendly way was a common response. For example, a remarkable interaction took place upon entering the gym. The attendant simply glanced up at me as I entered the door, so on the basis he couldn’t conjure the basic greeting of ‘good morning’ I walked past him. Obviously unhappy that I didn’t report to him, he walked after me and shouted ‘Can I Help You?’ with his palms open waving his arms up and down, as if, ironically, he had not been greeted in the way he deserved. Hello, I’m a hotel guest and a member, I responded. What room?, was the response. ‘Ten’, I responded. At that, he literally turned around and walked off. Upon leaving, he openly finished texting somebody on his phone before responding to my query about opening times. That brings me to my point, Soho House Barcelona should decide whether it is a members club or a five star hotel, because although members may accept self indulgence on the part of staff, guests of a five star hotel will not. Decide and reduce the room price to reflect the service, or up skill the staff, but the current mix just doesn’t work. …
I visited with friends- a burger and chips was about £17 and tasted decidedly average. Service is generally very slow and painful. For breakfast I asked for a large latte coffee - I was charged 2x €3:60.......so basically a large latte in Soho House is £7 . I have never felt so ripped off in my life. The place is also full of chavs with no style. I won’t return- ever.
Located on the vibrant marina front Soho House, Barcelona is very well positioned on the edge of the Gothic Quarter and within walking distance of a range of attractions, restaurants and transport links. From the first opening of the door to the last, one is well looked after and made to feel special. From a personalised concierge arranging travel and reservations, and inclusive gym offering varying classes every day, there is a real focus on providing more than just a hotel experience. Both dinner in the upstairs restaurant and lunch in Cecconi’s were of a very high standard in both service and quality. The bedrooms have absolutely everything considered to ensure a “home-from-home” feel is attained; including cocktails and abundance of complimentary items from the Cow Shed Spa range. It really was a struggle to leave.…
My husband and I stayed a total of 9 nights at SoHo House Barcelona and the entire stay felt like perfection. This is my second time staying at the hotel, and both times felt luxurious and comfortable. It was all perfect, from the warm check-in welcome to the gorgeously decorated rooms. The hotel has a really cool artsy vibe, and everything feels very though out. The rooms have absolutely everything you could ever need: chargers, flat iron and hair drier, full sized hair products and shower gels, all sorts of travel sized toiletries for you to take, robes and slippers, you name it. The beds are extremely comfortable and the pillows are what dreams are made of. It was spotless clean and the rooms smelled amazing. Our room was the "small" and it was large enough for two people to be very comfortable. Would totally recommend this size for a young couple. Some of our favorite hotel amenities include: the full size gym, the free cinema, the spa (we both had a super great facial!), the 5th floor's cowering space and bar/restaurant, and the rooftop where we also attended their NYE party (it was epic!). Also looooved the adjacent restaurant, Cecconi's, where we dined multiple times and had delicious wine. The staff was super friendly, especially the Italian servers on the 5th and 6th floor, as well as housekeeping! I will definitely stay here again next time we are in Barcelona, and have already recommended this hotel to all of my friends who are planning a trip to Barcelona soon.…
