This hostal is in a great location - just 50 metres off the Rambla and right beside the large market. The room was quite big and clean, but a little basic, although it did have an onsuite shower room and Wi Fi but no suite toilet and no TV it was also quite expensive I felt at €70 per night

The hostel is located few streets off La Rambla, 5 minutes from the metro, quite easy to find. It is right behind the market, though we did not find it noisy. However, the walls are paper thin so you will get a lot of noise from inside rather than outside. We had a room with a private bathroom which was... More

Recently married young couple traveling on honeymoon tour, this hostel was prime location for all the right sites. Right off the Ramblas and next to the La Broqueria market where breakfast is a must (being so close to the market it becomes pretty noisy early in the morning. The hostel itself is very clean as done daily. Amenities are simple... More

I don't want to repeat the content of previous reviews. But let's just summarise: the location is pretty awesome. And the beach is just a 30 min stroll away too. To the hostel: i had room 105, which was a spotless comfy room with balcony, great air-condition and own shower ( no wardrobe though) . Shared toilet was just opposite... More

The best thing about this hotel is definitely the location. Situated on the side of the market, couple of minutes walk from La Rambla and around five minutes to Placa Catalunya (where you can catch the very convenient Aerobus airport shuttle) When you wake up in a morning, make sure you go into the market for breakfast - there are... I loved the location of this hotel--right off the Rambla and steps away from La Boqueria--an amazing market. We walked everywhere from this place--even Sagrada Familia (though that was a hike). The room wasn't particularly well sound insulated but the air conditioner really helped keep the room quiet and comfortable. Great value.

This hostel is situated in the heart of Barcelona. Mercat de la Boqueria is next to the hostel and it is fantastic to go there and buy some fresh food or fresh fruit coctails. La Rambla si about two minutes of walk. Location is really great! There are a lot of restaurants and bars. The room is quite big and... More

The bed was very small but that was expected. Everything was very clean and well maintained. The location is excellent - being next to the Boqueria was awesome for breakfast and general browsing. It's also within walking distance of lots of sights.

The hostal is at great location. Very clean, rooms are big enough with small terace. You can easily reach Rambla and Plaza Catalunya where can you take a metro or bus. Downstairs you can eat in a fabulous restoran with home made dishes at affordable prices and the best mojitos ever.

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.

“I did have a private room, and I was on the end of my trip. This was my last stop before leaving to return home, but it was super good for me. The large fresh market right around the corner, the Metro stop just a short walk and plenty of restaurants.”
