This modern hotel is situated in a small street near Las Ramblas, in the center of Barcelona, near Plaza Catalunya (from where the Bus Touristic and Aerobus leave). We had a double bedroom for 5 nights, situated at the back of the hotel (balcony at the patio) and a very pleasant stay. The staff is very friendly and welcomes you... More

Dear Guest, Many thanks for your lovely review! you made our day! As you said, the little Hotel Curious is so ideally located (city center) that you will reach everywhere by foot. Even if you are coming from the airport, the best thing is getting the Aerobus, getting of at Plaça Catalunya and waking for 5 minutes. That's all to... More

Our family had four rooms at this hotel because we were a large group traveling together. I really wanted to love this hotel, but I couldn't. Pro: free breakfast, location Con: our room had plumbing issues. The water in the bath tub would not drain and also gross stuff would come up through the bath such as hair and mold... More

Staff were really helpful and friendly. Location was great. Reception was 24hrs and there was a buzzer to get into the hotel so it was very safe. Breakfast was good, continental buffet with bread and pastries, teas, coffee and juices. Rooms are on the small side but the beds are comfortable. Would definitely recommend.

Stayed here for six nights on our first visit to Barcelona. Firstly, the location of this hotel is superb, just off Las Ramblas and only a five minute walk from Placa de Catalunya where you can get the Aerobus to and from the airport. We had a room at the back which was so quiet you wouldn't know you were... More

We stayed 5 nights at the Hotel Curious in October 2015. We chose this hotel as we have friends who stayed here a few years ago. We arrived early after a long transatlantic flight, and found our room available. We requested a twin room (401) and found it to be very nice. We overlooked Carrer del Carmen, a few blocks... More

Everything about the Hotel Curious was perfect for us, except our stay was too short! The location (right off Las Ramblas, walking distance from Place de Catalyuna, so no taxi needed), the ambiance (we knew we were in Barcelona, so charming!), the service (everyone was so attentive and helpful), and our room (perfect size, great bathroom, balcony, good wifi). When... More

This hotel really couldn't be any more convenient - it's a stone's throw from Las Ramblas and about 5 mins walk from Place de Catalyuna where the Aerobus arrives & departs. Our room (101) was lovely, with simple modern decoration (I love the huge wall-size photos on a theme of Water/Air/Earth/Fire) and very comfy beds. We had a balcony onto... More

We recently visited Barcelona for a one night stay before a cruise. We stayed in the Hotel Curious and were very happy with the facility primarily because of the outstanding customer service. This is our second time at this hotel, we loved it previously so decided to stay again. On our arrival we were checked in by Mateo (it was 11am so I didn't expect our room to be ready, what an added bonus that was) and he asked if we had stayed before as he recognised us (we have but we... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
