Halfway through our stay & this hotel is a great find. All the staff are fantastic & very helpful. A special mention to Caryn & Claudio for getting us milk for our many cups of tea. The hotel is so easy to get to from the Aerobus & a great base to get anywhere. Breakfast is plentiful & the room...

This hotel is in a good location, about 2 blocks off of Ramblas, 3 blocks south of Placa de Catalunya and only a couple blocks to Mercado de La Boqueria market (good place to grab a snack or lunch). We stayed here with 2 other couples for 3 nights in September. The rooms were nice and clean but very basic....

I returned for a 3 night stay after my first stay in October 2012. The location is excellent with even more restaurants and bars close at hand than I remember from before. I booked a single, which I knew from my previous stay would be tiny. This time the room was also unbearably hot. I could not get it to...

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
