If you stay here you have to know what you're getting: an clean, cheap room in an awesome, central neighborhood. You're paying for the location (close to just about everything from the beach to Barcelona's main sights/neighborhoods), not the quality of the room. It was clean as was the bathroom (we stayed in the matrimonial suite which just means you... More

We stayed in Pension Francis for three nights in March. When we arrived at the hostel we were greeted by friendly staff member, however he had very little English. We stayed in a Double room with a private bathroom. The bedroom was very small however it was very clean. The bed was comfortable, but could have done with more pillows!... More

Like 1hour later i got mail saying my flight is rescheduled. I needed to change all my flghts and staying for one night in Barcelona was not needed any longer.... More

Goog locacation right in the city center. The area is full of restaurants and shopps and it is within walking distance to the beach. The staff was very helpfull in every moment. I would definitly reccommend this place.

Maybe a classical ''you get what you pay for", this is a quite simple place to sleep. The room and bathroom was pretty small, and no place to hang out really. But thats not why you are here anyways:) No AC, which made it pretty hard to sleep the first night in this heat. There is no breakfast served, but... More

Barcelona is incredibly expensive compared to most any other city in spain, especially to stay near the beach, which is worth the extra cost if you ask me. The room / hotel is very clean but very small, dated, with no ac, no elevator, all while being almost twice the cost of any other city in spain. My view was... More

After reading some of the other reviews I was a bit concerned about my boyfriend having booked this hotel for our week stay. This is budget and was almost half the price of anything we had seen with an ensuite in this location. The highlight is the location, it is pretty much perfect in lovely El Borne. The building doesn't... More

We had a reservation in this hotel, and after checking in at 1:00 AM, we were so shocked by what we found comparing to the deceiving pictures we saw on the net. The worst part of this experience is the bathroom. Anyway, we left after two hours at 3:00 AM where we had to find an other hotel !

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighborhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
