I had booked earlier in the week through Booking.com, and received a confirmation (Monday, and arrived today Wednesday with a taxi from the airport to find the hotel closed for maintenance/reforms!). What!? A telephone number on the door that I could call.....offering me to transfer to Eurostars Marina hotel in the Port of Barcelona, where I was treated nicely by the receptionist on duty. Received an upgrade. But seriously....you should have emailed me about the closure!? Would have saved me time and anger/frustation!
Huge room, nice shower, balcony with a view, no noise, great breakfast, nice backyard, kind personel, clean, great roomservice. All in all great value for money! BUT i'm very glad I had the room for my self since the bathroom is actually in the bedroom. Very fancy room. I liked it a lot. Nice to have water boiler and tea/coffee avaliable. Bus stop right outside the hotel. I recomend this hotel. Stayed there for 6 days as I was attending a course with 3 collegues, right before shut down due to corona virus.
The location is great since it is close to many tourist attractions plus the area is good for shopping. The rooms are well isolated since we could barely hear the traffic in this very busy street; but the room was close to the lift and that you could feel... I guess there is not much that can be done about it. The room was nice and tidy, although some maintenance is required. The breakfast was of good quality and choice. The staff was not very friendly although they did their job properly. This is deninitely not a 5 start hotel, but the location is great and it was a nice stay.
I booked this for the weekend as surprise for my husbands birthday, first of all the location is amazing, 20mins from the Airport. Asked for a tray of fruit and cake which was nicely provided.. clean room, with complimentary crisps tea water etc..Nice big bed, only thing I would want to change is the sinks are outside the toilet and shower and when washing face etc you can get water everywhere. not a massive problem as we only went for the weekend. Location is good, Brunch places are really nice also, not too far. Beach is around 15mins away in a taxi, or you can use cabify. Lovely staff, didn't have an issue with anything at all. Let us check out slightly later than we was supposed too as we had an evening flight. allowed us to leave luggage there. Overall cant complain about a single thing. Many thanks…
Good location and very easy to access the main attractions. Although, it is a bit easy to miss the hotel. You go through an entrance that leads to a foyer and you take a lift up. The first thing one notices is a bin which has a black garbage bag that hangs over the bin, The lift takes you up to reception - which you will later learn is where breakfast is also served (we did not try the breakfast) - you will however get the smell of the earlier breakfast served though. Once you get your keys, you go up to your room passing a foyer that looks very much like an office hallway - no decor - drab flooring and doors that honestly look like something you would expect in an office block. The room might be suitable for some - there is a bath in the room along with a basin which flows to the bed area. The only area that is enclosed is the loo. To be honest it felt like there was far too much of everything crammed into a small space. For a two night stray at over GBP 800, we expected much more. It is not somewhere we would go back to.…
This hotel is absolutely phenomenal. Arrived 3 hours before check in and within 10 minutes of waiting we had our room ready. The lady on reception upgraded us to a room with a view and what a stunning view it was. The room is unlike anything we have ever stayed in before. It was a very big room with an open plan with the bathroom. Some people may not like the layout because it is different but we thought it was a highlight of the room. The location is fantastic, 5 minutes walk to the Rambla and there are fantastic luxury shops within a stones throw. After a busy afternoon of exploring Barcelona we had a relax in the room. There was a knock on the door and a lovely waiter had brought us some chocolates thanking us for choosing to stay at the hotel. This really was a highlight of our stay. Overall, superb staff, stunning room, great location and I will 100% be returning soon.…
This hotel far exceeded our expectations. We arrived early to the hotel to see if we could drop our bags off and to our surprise our room was ready. We had been upgraded and had a lovely note left by the hotel staff thanking us for our stay. The room was lovely and the bath and shower huge. Would recommend this hotel to all, great location staff were so helpful and polite. Thank you
Looking for a premium experience in the centre of Barcelona we found Eurostars' BCN Design 5* Hotel, which was instantly appealing due to its location. The first impression was mixed, the entrance being easy to miss from the high street, as it is very modest, compared to other similar hotels in the area. The lobby and reception have a modern minimalist design, and seem very clean. However it can feel a bit crowded if there are several people waiting at the reception, as it is quite small. Going upstairs towards our room we notice the hallways are not at all impressive and could use some aesthetic improvements. The rooms are very spacey and look nice, however there is no bathtub in the bathroom. Most likely only the suites have a bathtub Also the sinks are outside the bathroom, and it makes for an interesting room design…
Great location, however check out Google street view so you know the landmarks to find the entrance. The staff was very nice and helpful. I especially commend the breakfast staff who brought my coffee and prepared a hot drink to help with my cold. The breakfasts were decent with the option of eggs cooked to order, in addition to the typical Spanish hotel breakfasts of breads, sweet baked goods, meats and cheeses. My room was nice - I was apparently "upgraded" to a king bed and view of the Passeig de Gracia. No issues with the bed or room location and the room was very quiet. The negative was the open bathroom which is not worthy of a 5 star hotel (nor a 5 star rating). If you are not alone and would like a bit of privacy showering, etc. this is not for you. The open design of the sink and shower was awful as the tiny sink could not be used without splashing everywhere. Also, some hooks are needed near the shower for clothes or wet towels and more shelving by the sink is needed for personal items as the one small shelf did not fit much at all. I put most of my things on the floor. There was a short black plastic stand by the sink for the little bottles and soaps. I almost missed the black hair dryer tucked into a lower shelf in the little stand until got down on my knees to investigate.…
Service at the hotel is excellent. Front desk employees were very good. Fast check in and breakfast is good. Selections were limited like hamon and breads. Also a selection of diff egg dishes but really good. Best to eat around the city though. Location is perfect and you can walk to ramblas , gothic area and plaza catalunya easily. El nacional is across hotel with good selections to eat. Many shops around area and very easy to get public transportation. Overall I would definitely go back soon
