This was our second visit to this wonderful hotel, our first being six weeks ago as we drove down to Portugal and both experiences were excellent. We have stayed in Salamanca before but this time our hotel choice was dependent on being pet friendly as we were travelling with our dog. All I can say is whether you are travelling with a pet or not this was hands down the loveliest hotel we stayed in over both journeys and better than our previous Salamanca stays. From the wonderful staff who greet you at arrival and whisk away luggage and park your car to the comfortable rooms and fantastic location this hotel is a real find. During our first stay at the beginning of August the weather was extremely hot and we made use of the hotel’s beautiful swimming poor and on our most recent stay we enjoyed the hotel’s convenient location close to the historical centre. All in all two great stays with a paws up from our dog too!

Salamanca is a beautiful city and the hotel fits in with these surroundings. Well appointed rooms, good management team and the luxury in this small city of a reasonably sized outdoor pool. Nice restaurant for breakfast. A very pleasant stay.

Beautiful, centrally located hotel with big rooms and a nice pool. Friendly service, great breakfast. Will happily return but for more than a day as there is so much to see in Salamanca, with a nice break at the pool in between. Very comfy beds.

I've spent 3 nights there with my 2 babies. The swimming pool is good and with a good view. But If you're traveling with baby/children I do not recommend this Hotel, there aren't any facilities for babies and any other minimum special attention.... w/ my experience I do not consider 5* category.

Peaceful, comfortable and high standard hotel, where one´s stay is easily enjoyed. Among its many strong points are the welcome, the historic building, the views on the city, and the cleanliness. Very well located, close to historic city centre, but also sufficiently distant so as to be relatively tranquil. And easy to get to and from by car. Parking is limited but enough with the help of the car attendant, even with the garage being unavailable for the long term I estimate room for around 40 cars. Excellent breakfast. The only really negative point about the hotel is the unpleasant and unhelpful head waitress at breakfast. Sorry to leave in the end, and would return.

Beautiful renovated convent in the heart of Salamanca. A quiet oasis to retreat to at the end of the day with a refreshing dip in the pool. We loved everything about our stay. The location was perfect for exploring the city, everything is within easy walking distance from the hotel. Would love to return!

Amazing hotel experience. Loved EVERYTHING and highly recommend. I am planning to come again. The hotel building is absolutely gorgeous. Part of the old Dominican convent, fully remodeled with a very tasty combination of old and modern. The room was comfortable, cool. We had dinner at the El Monje restaurant patio, beautiful setting and the food was delicious☺️Best of all was the hotel staff, friendly, knowledgeable and super helpful. The hotel has parking so you can park your car and just walk around the beautiful city of Salamanca.

It's a luxurious hotel in the heart of Salamanca, with plenty of character. The staff could not have been more welcoming. Breakfasts are sumptuous. But there highlight has to be the pool, with the Cathedral providing the ultimate backdrop.

Our daughter got married near Salamanca, so members of both families stayed at this amazing hotel before and after the wedding. Maite in Reservations was fabulous. Rooms, views, food and service all exceptional. I definitely recommend the hotel, and will return as soln as possible.

We stayed in a standard double room at the Hospes Palacio de San Esteban for 2-nights in mid-June (€144/night). The upscale hotel was located just inside the old town, easy to access and a short 10 min walk to all of the tourist attractions (cathedrals, university, Plaza Mayor). It was housed in 2 buildings, with reception and some of the rooms in the older 16th century convent, and most of the rooms in a 19th century addition to the convent to the rear. Our 4th floor room, in the newer section, was long and narrow, seemingly comprising 3 former convent rooms, with a wood-shuttered window in each of its 3 sections: the bedroom, the closet & vanity area, and the bathroom. While compact, the layout worked and the feeling was spaciousness & light. The bedroom had a comfortable king bed & side tables, desk & chair, mini-refrigerator, 52 inch flat screen TV; the vanity area had double built-in closets and a 2-sink vanity with plenty of storage space; and the bathroom had a bathtub/shower. While only a standard room, the 4th floor location gave us views over the roofs to the Santo Domingo monastery and its stork nests right next door, and to the cathedrals, both quite magical when light up at night. The hotel had plenty of parking (€14/night), and a nice pool amid a huge grassy area with plenty of loungers. The staff were friendly and helped with every request. Overall, everything you would want in an upscale hotel in an historic city.
