Lovely Parador, wonderful historic features and surroundings. Stayed there before and loved it then, hence the 're-visit. Comfortable bedroom and an-suits bathroom. Very polite and helpful staff. Dinner very expensive and overrated.

See above. This information should be on your website. Please update this correctly as it is very annoying to arrive somewhere and find things shut. This whole building is being renovated and only sections of the museum are open and scaffolding covers the outside of some of the facade.

The building looks gorgeous from the outside, and the room (#405) was large and spacious, with a lovely view over the box hedging garden. The FREE Parking was excellent, large, mostly covered, with a Security Guard who not only controlled access, but also patrolled. The FREE daily guided tour (in Spanish) at 10:00 was excellent, and lasts about 30 minutes. The hotel is closing from 15th December 2017 for 2 years, for refurbishment. We hope that they change the beds! The check in staff and bell boy were miserable. We were not told about any of the hotel facilities or even where our room was, or about the daily tour. Check Out was quick and friendly. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. No Tea & Coffee facilities, even though this hotel was supposed to be 5 Star. We would not return here again, unless we see a lot of positive reviews after the refurbishment.

We enjoyed the public rooms with all the antiques & paintings, but found the staff rather miserable, unlike the rest of our hotel stays in northern Spain where everyone was so friendly. Our room in the annex was spacious, had a lovely balcony & looked out on a pretty knot garden. However it was 87 degrees when we checked in & the air conditioning was not working. When we informed the front desk, we were told the AC goes off in October. (this was the first week of the month) No fan was offered.
