We did an impromptu stop in Leon for the night and stayed at Hotel Alfonso - it turned out to be such a pleasant surprise, we loved our stay, and have decided to go back for a few days on our next trip. Staff were all so helpful & friendly, hotel itself is in good condition, bed was super-comfy, shower was good. Perhaps the only negative was the sound of other doors in the hotel closing as people came and went, but at least you couldn't hear people talking in the passage or in their rooms so it wasn't bad at all. They have onsite parking, but we found street parking quite comfortably. And the hotel is perfectly situated to walk to the vibey pedestrian streets around the cathedral. Leon was a great town, and Hotel Alfonso was a wonderful stay.
This hotel is simply great. The location better impossible and the most important thing the attention they give to the clients. Having been a difficult one, with lots of special requirements because I am traveling with my mum who is more than 80 years old they made all possible changes possible and always with a smile. A big thanks to Mario at Reception. I strongly recommend this hotel
We stayed overnight in this hotel- it is located close to the main attractions of Leon and the motel is easy walking distance from the train station (about 800m). Check in was straightforward with the staff speaking good English. No breakfast was included in our deal however there are plenty of good quality options close by if you don’t wish to pay €14 per head. The room we were allocated (808) had overhead pipes in the ceiling that transferred water(?) very regularly during our stay which made sleep difficult. Suggest you don’t accept this room!! Overall however a good hotel in a lovely city.
Be forewarned if you have a mobility issue—there’s a big step from the sidewalk to a landing and then six more steps to the lobby. Once in the lobby, there’s a small elevator to the room floors. The staff was friendly, helpful, and efficient. I emailed the hotel twice before the trip with questions, and they responded the next day. Estefania at reception was friendly and provided maps and a good restaurant suggestion. Our room was large and clean, with two single beds, two night stands, a desk and desk chair, and a safe, but only one hassock for a suitcase. A second suitcase stand was not available, although there was plenty of room for it. It’s very annoying when a room for two persons has only one luggage rack; one person’s suitcase had to go on the desk, which limited the usefulness of the desk. There are numerous electrical outlets scattered around the room. As others have noted, the toilet and bidet are in one room, while the tub/shower and two sinks (nice to have two for two people) are in another. Be forewarned again: our room had a step up to the sink room. (Be careful at night!) The location is convenient, in the new city but right at the end of the main pedestrian street of the old city. Just a short walk to the San Isidoro Museum, Cathedral, and Plaza Mayor. Overall, the pluses outweighed the minuses, and we had an enjoyable stay at this hotel.…
In a building which doesn't look special from outside, but had e great atrium inside. In 8 floors around this atrium the rooms are situated. Room is space, well decorated and equipped with a comfortable king size double bed. Nice walk in bathroom with sliding door. Bath and shower and sink in bathroom, separate toilet and bidet in other room. Breakfast buffet is of good quality but had a bit of a poor choice. Fresh Orange juice and good food quality, friendly and helpful lady to assist. Parking garage is very Barrow, as well as driving down, as in the parking spaces.
