Loved the castle experience. Actually was moved from another site! Hotel is right next to the highway, which is a bit weird, but convenient. Have to drive into town, but it is easy. The room was large and lovely. Bathroom large and lovely. Evening staff pleasant. Only downsides were a rather weird very high luggage rack and lack of some... More

We stayed just one night in this fabulous property, but all of us wished it had been three nights. We were in room 401 in the tower, which has a marble fireplace and beautiful furnishings and furniture. The compartmentalized bath has a claw foot tub, two sinks in separate areas, and a separate shower. One negative was their computerized climate... More

Stayed here for an overnight stop en route to Santander for a ferry. The hotel is based around a 14th century stone tower. We had a room in the tower and the room was very spacious with a large bathroom and sitting area. My wife is disabled but acces was fairly good being able to pull up right outside the... More

We recently stayed in this hotel on our way to the UK from Portugal, it is in a great location if you are driving this route to Calais. From the moment you enter the strange Castle door it greets you with a warm and fantastic ambience. There are wonderful artefacts everywhere which create great design features in keeping with the... We are a gay couple. We were given a room with two single beds and when we asked for a room with a double bed we we're asked to pay extra. This is outrageous. Never heard anything like this. We then asked for iron and a board. They said they don't have enough irons but offered to take shirts n... More

very conveniently located on the way north, landa is famous for its restaurant, but also has a very nice hotel. Rooms are spacious, staff very attentive, and has a spectacular indoor/outdoor pool in a gothic setting (including a large fireplace).

This hotel is very well located as a hotel for travelling east west or north/south through Spain. Its an 8-10 euro taxi ride from Burgos old town. The hotel is well used and we had a suite in the very old castle tower which was luxurious and very traditional. The hotel is in the grand, rather old fashioned style with... More

This is a comfortable and well located hotel with quality bedding and bathroom facilities. There is free wifi which works fine. I don't thin it is a hotel that you would want to have a prolonged stay. It is slightly Disneyesque in its construction and the staff while competent appear to be under stress the way they move around. However,... More

Spent one night with my wife during our trip from Madrid to San Sebastián. Location is unusual, next to the A1 highway a couple of kilometres away from Burgos. Room has a special touch, lofated in a building that looks ancient. Hotel entrance is unsual, it's like entering a medieval place. All details are world class. Front desk personnel extremely... Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The beginning of the Landa dates back to 1959. A little restaurant was opened 2 km outside Burgos where travellers used to refresh themselves on their journey along the road which, despite its faults, was then the main route linking the capital with the north of Spain. The commitment of the Landa family to the hotel business dates back to the beginning of the 20th century with the "Real Club de Puerta de Hierro" in Madrid and "La Perla" in San Sebastian, and later with "La Gran Taberna", also in Madrid. The Landa started out during hard times for the Spanish hotel business in non urban areas; the hotel, its various extensions, the tower, the pool, the square... Were incorporated later on, little by little. ... more   less
