The beginning of the Landa dates back to 1959. A little restaurant was opened 2 km outside Burgos where travellers used to refresh themselves on their journey along the road which, despite its faults, was then the main route linking the capital with the north of Spain. The commitment of the Landa family to the hotel business dates back to the beginning of the 20th century with the "Real Club de Puerta de Hierro" in Madrid and "La Perla" in San Sebastian, and later with "La Gran Taberna", also in Madrid. The Landa started out during hard times for the Spanish hotel business in non urban areas; the hotel, its various extensions, the tower, the pool, the square... Were incorporated later on, little by little.

From the second you enter this hotel you feel transported to another place and time. The decor is absolutely exquisite. The rooms are spacious and clean. Robes and slippers are provided. The pool is uniquely indoor/outdoor. Dinner in the restaurant was a little pricey but very special. The hotel staff is accommodating and pleasant. This hotel definitely has a "wow" factor!

Exceptional, very "cozy" address in a magnificent setting, not far from the entrance to Burgos (car essential and access a little complicated to find the first time); the proximity to the highway is not a handicap, the hotel is very quiet. Magnificent common areas and lounges in which to rest and read, very beautiful spacious air-conditioned rooms with exceptional red marble bathroom with bathtub AND shower. Impeccable service, very good breakfast but a la carte, which is annoying; restaurant ok without being exceptional. Very practical underground parking.
Only one complaint: all the TV channels are in Spanish even though the clientele is half foreign...Incomprehensible...
Otherwise excellent address for visiting Burgos; we stayed there for 3 nights, which allowed us to visit the fabulous cathedral, the two monasteries in the suburbs and the one further away from San Domenico in Silos

Although this hotel / restaurant / bar complex is just off the highway, you feel like you’ve stepped into another world, far from plastic-wrapped sandwiches at highway rest stops. We opted for a quick bite in the bar section, which offers comfortable and cozy seating and a choice of small dishes, including the house specialty blood sausage (morcilla, served with eggs), which you can also purchase at the gift shop, and a salad with tuna and the signature preserved asparagus (also available in the giftshop). The drive between Bilbao and Madrid is worth it just for the lunch in Burgos!

decay. Being regular customers for more than 25 years, we verified that it is not what it was and it is not even maintained... food for eight with prior reservation expressly indicating what was going to be eaten (subject to prior reservation requirement). Table prepared in pieces, one lacking cutlery, another lacking a plate, another without a glass... but with bread served on the table.
The exquisite attention that has always been had is not found at this time. Waiters who can't breathe, who don't even look at your table in case you need something, dishes canceled due to too much waiting to be served, for eight diners they served individual bottles of wine because they said they didn't have another one... come on, exasperating. We came to collect the dirty dishes from the table so that the lamb could be served. Sorry, this closes a chapter of our family gastronomy. A shame but we won't be back. You pay a high price for half eating and getting angry. Not worth it.

Yesterday, we made a telephone reservation for two connected superior rooms for 2 adults and 2 children. Since it was not possible to add a pet on the reservation page, we preferred to call to make the reservation. During the reservation call, we explicitly asked if they accepted animals, and were assured that they did. However, upon arriving at the hotel and after checking in, we were suddenly informed that the cost per night to have our dog would be 70 euros. This revelation was completely unexpected and disappointing. We were already on our way to our rooms with all of our bags, which made it extremely difficult to refuse to pay this additional charge. I believe this type of information should have been provided clearly and transparently at the time we inquired about the admissibility of pets. Not doing so and charging this amount only after our arrival at the hotel is, in my opinion, a lack of professionalism and an abuse of clients.Although they gave us a discount on the type of room it is not compensated with the high rate they charge for dogs 70eur. The hotel is very nice but it is not worth the value (540 euros per night for 2 adults, two children and a dog) since it is a roadside hotel next to the highway.

Despite the good memories we had of this hotel, this trip has been a deep disappointment. The service and customer attention is not at the level of what it was, we took the suite and it is beautiful but the service is deplorable. The service in the cafeteria and restaurant is especially bad. Mediocre food, ridicule and price not in line with quality or service. We have eaten better in some roadside bar than in your restaurant. No suitable place to rest within the hotel. They offer you rooms with museum furniture that are not suitable for sitting and have been collecting dust since the 18th century. The “heated” pool was freezing and when we mentioned it they told us that with the sun it was already warming up, the indoor one, in Burgos! Reception and bellboys, despite being friendly, were far from up to par, they remained motionless without knowing how to react to any comment or complaint. A real shame, it was quite an experience to come to Landa, now it's just a bad memory.

Feelings mixed with this hotel...Reception, lovely staff, polite, involved in any questions or needs that may arise. Yet the bar... leaves much to be desired. The managers (dressed in red jackets) perhaps if they get involved, but they go so far that they can not with everything and it shows... that in itself is already striking in a hotel of this type, since you notice shortage of staff to attend to the people housed and those who come for drinks from outside. I understand there aren't many of them, they can't handle everything, but I can't handle the disrespect. The day I arrived, I settled in and went down to eat. I recommend saying “of one” everything that will be ordered, because no waiter will return to see if you need more water, more wine, bread, another dish, a dessert... if you call them equal to 20 minutes appear. Generally when a waiter walks past you, he looks away from you so he doesn’t have to attend to you (or so I understand, because you called them and until you toned up enough, they didn’t turn).
What he already repeated to me is on one occasion that I went down to snack (18:00h) with everything much calmer and still, same feeling... I ordered tea and croissant and when serving it I asked please add an orange juice. After 20 minutes (no joke) a waitress came out to look at something from the outside. I called her and playing crazy as I explained before, finally she says “tell me” in the distance... I tell her that I have a juice left and putting a face of me that you tell me releases me “because it will come out”... I told her that I had been waiting 20 minutes (it was so, that the table next to me that was listening everything flipped -they were also in a similar situation-) Don’t think that she ran, that it took about 7 minutes to bring me the juice, when I was getting up to leave (and I left). Again I asked another waiter how to enter the restaurant and he sent me outside (door closed), I saw him again and told him that the door is closed... because he lets me go “well that’s where he puts restaurant” as if it were delayed... I said, look when I opened the door I have seen people inside enter... maybe it is inside? And let go of me because I don't know...
Anyway, the conclusion is that I have been very struck by this type of service so full from the very breakfast at 8:30 in the morning... the shortage of staff, but worse, the attitude of some workers. If I see them busy, I wait politely, but it can not be that they play crazy, that you have to get up several times during your meal to ask for more bottles of water, that respond badly... that it seems that you are doing them a favor for being there... if you do not know something, you tell me because look I am new here, I do not know where you enter... but you do not send me without knowledge where it is not... anyway, for now although ideal room and pool, I will not repeat. Too bad.

A painful experience. I have to say that I did not stay at the hotel, I only went to the restaurant
We got to the bar and they told us 20 minutes, ok, it was raining heavily but hey, we waited because we wanted to meet him. After an hour, we were still there with two small children and no news....the girl was very kind, yes, but with a rather poor perception of temporal space.
I was funny when a well-known actress arrived, who signed up after us and within 10 minutes she already had a table at the bar...curious and one more demonstration that this place has remained anchored in time.
After more than an hour they send us to the restaurant, different menu and more expensive but of course since you're there...you're not going to leave now...
The first thing they tell us when we arrive at the restaurant is that they close the kitchen in 15 minutes....how? so? painful
The waiter who serves us, either I owe him money or he was having a bad day, unfriendly to the extreme, as if I were the luckiest guy in the world to eat at Landa, which is nothing further away.
The delicious food, let's see, blood sausage with eggs for 14 bucks, can already be delicious, (in Alar del Rey, blood sausage and eggs much better and at a price according to what it is) the lamb was crumbled for us, so to speak, by one person that instead of cutting he uses the knife to separate...that is to say, he has not carved a lamb in his life, for less than what he did there are people imprisoned :)
In short, bad service, very expensive, a place for the elderly of the place who have nowhere else to go, Chicote will appear there any day
Dire and in clear decline, I will not return

We are regular customers for more than 25 years with mandatory stop every time we pass by. For more than two years now we have witnessed the decline he has suffered. Today we stopped at 12.30 in the morning. We arrived at the entrance and found a queue of people in the sun, waiting to come in and be put on a list. The place inside empty. They take our name and tell us to wait between 15-20 minutes for coffee. Obviously we have left as have the rest of the people who did the
Tail. It's worse than walking into a supermarket in Venezuela. It is clear that this business is being ruined as the quality of service, food and maintenance is absolutely deplorable! From today I will take care not to recommend this site absolutely to anyone. Delezable

It is all delicious but the breakfast service leaves much to be desired. They're usually slow, but you arm yourself with patience and that's it. But today they were also rude. In fact we ordered bread and tomato and the young brown waiter didn't even bring it. The older waitress who took note of us seemed to spare your life every time you asked her for something. They should improve public service in such a reputable place. It was just this morning.
