I booked this hotel because reviews stated it had a free shuttle bus to the Centro Historico. It doesn't since covid. The hotel itself is very corporate. Maybe a good choice if you are travelling with a large group or a bus tour. But lacks charm, location, and trained staff if you are a solo traveler. It had those long, aimless "The Shining" corridors decorated with the same faux marble bust at each corner. The had what looked like "evidence tape" across all of the clean rooms that said "clean and safe". The hotel did look clean. The room we stayed in was strange. All the drawers of the bedside tables and desk with glued shut with false fronts. The thing that most concerned me was that the room was designed to accommodate a handicapped guest. But neither of the telephones worked. I reported it to the front desk (well, I couldn't phone, could I?) They couldn't do anything. The strangeness continued with the staff, who seemed super friendly but quite unable to help. The front desk clerk was confused when I asked for the concierge had no idea what a concierge was. This was surprising because I had asked the hotel a question before I arrived and it was signed by "The concierge". After several frustrating attempts to get things done, we decided to just go sit on the terrace and enjoy a drink and a lovely view of Toledo. We were told that we couldn't because the terrace was closed. This was probably for a function, so no big deal. We would just go up to our room and had a drink out of the mini bar. We pulled out a half bottle of wine. It had a cork. There was no corkscrew.

We have spent three weeks in Spain; traveling to Barcelona, Seville, Madrid, and Toledo. The hotels have been top notch and the staffs have been friendly until this Eurostar. Let me first say that we were previously at a Eurostar in Barcelona( the Grand Marina) and received superb service. When we walked into Buenavista not one staff member said hello or hola. We initiated the exchanges. No smiles nada. No offer of water which was set up I assume for guest. I did notice that the staff was much friendlier to those who spoke Spanish. Check in was quick but image our surprise when there wasn’t an offer to have someone cart our bags to our room. We had been traveling all day since 7 AM and reached the hotel at about 3:30 pm. It was hot and we we’re definitely bedraggled. We came to Spain not knowing the language well but have successfully used Goggle Translate. When we went to dinner the waitress admittedly didn’t speak English which was fine, so we used our translator. Once again we were not greeted and staff was reluctant to speak with us.The first waiter said he didn’t speak English and after we got him to understand our room number, he grabbed another waitress and “ had her deal with us”. I understand some Spanish. It was clear that neither waiter wanted to attend to us. After asking for our drink orders we were told “ no”. When I asked for a drink menu she said they only had wine and beer, but I later saw a couple with what appeared to be a cocktail. After selecting and receiving grilled beef tenderloin. The waitress NEVER CHECKED BACK to check on us, until I waved her down for the bill. During dinner staff were around but ignored us. This unfriendly and rude behavior happen again at breakfast. No greetings were returned and again they were obviously friendly to the Spanish speaking guests. Typically at buffets dishes are removed from the table so that you can use a fresh dish. While other guest had dishes immediately removed ours sat in front of us from 8:00 am until our departure at 9:00 am. Let me correct myself. Right before we left one plate was removed. Front desk staff did call a cab as we requested but again they appeared u happy to help us. Honestly, we have been stunned by the ongoing pattern of disregard and unfriendliness. I usually right reviews AFTER I return home.Im writing this while I’m still here. I’ve just returned to the hotel from an outing and 1:30 PM. When I went upstairs my room key no longer worked. The front desk attendant rescanned it but offered no explanation and again was unsmiling until she accidentally ( I assume) flipped the key so that it landed in the counter instead of my hand. The room wasn’t cleaned but perhaps they, like everyone else have a staff shortage. I’d rather have a “dirty” room and polite staff. I’m not sure why but Toledo Spain in general has been the least friendly place. I don’t like making global statements but …. .I’m really glad that we’re only spending two nights here. The hotel is big and beautiful but the boutique hotel we left in Seville was a much friendlier and helpful. I recommend staying elsewhere and making Toledo a day trip.

Originally booked this hotel knowing that although it was on the outskirts of the city, that they had a free shuttle bus to mitigate the location. However, it had not been returned to service, even 'post-covid', resulting in €34 of unexpected taxi fares. However, what truly irked was the fact that I couldn't pay the bill in Euros. Their card machines insisted in converting into sterling (with of course the inflated exchange rates and a 7.9% mark up.). Tried a number of cards and alternative options but still I was forced to use this option. The icing on the cake was when I noticed my receipt at home and it stated that "I accept I was offered a choice of currencies for payment". So contacted them and was told 'the quickest way' to rectify was to refund my payment and re-charge in Euros. I accepted this but 3 days later was then told their accounts dept was 'on holiday' so to wait another week. Now that the date has long passed, they're simply ignoring me - a month since my stay!! Stay was absolutely fine in general. Quite stuffy and formal atmosphere/clientele but rooms were great and breakfast lovely. No bar service at the pool - long walk with stairs to get drinks....in 40 degree heat. Toledo was amazing but this hotel most definitely wasn't.

If you're driving you may want to stay outside the walls of Toledo. But this may mean a corporate feel (and indeed conferences in progress). On the other hand the good thing is efficient service, oversized rooms and everything is - well - easy. No complaints. Big beds, everything worked as it should

Hello everyone First of all Covid has been a nightmare and we have only just started travelling again and so this review is a long time coming. Hope you are all ok So here we are, back on the road, holiday in Spain in our beloved Xabia and on the road doing what we love to do which is a road trip to a great Spanish City. This time its Toledo in Castilla La Mancha The Memsahib booked us into a promising hotel called the Eurostars Palacio Buenavists which, on their website promised 5 star elegance with 3 star prices. It doesnt get off to a good start. The much vaunted and necessary Shuttle service to the city of Toledo is not running. Necessary because its much too far to walk. Its a few miles to the city and you will need all your stamina to manage the hills of this sumptuous city. So, a mark against The room is excellent with lovely views over the Tagus (not of the city) but...the rooms are a little fur coat and no underwear. They are far too hot and the aircon is risible and the drawers in the bedside tables dont really exist. But they are comfortable and spacious. I would add a grizzle that the only English TV channel is Bloomberg and for those of us who couldnt give a rat's backside about the state of the Dow Jones today that is a tad frustrating. On a plus side the reception staff are delightful and very helpful. They booked a taxi for us to getintot he city which was less than 10 Euros and that was slick and a great service. After a day of yomping around the city we thought we would eat in the hotel and booked a table for dinner. At this point it all sounded promising Shifting now to dinner we were sat in the gorgeous dining area under a stained glass canopy with a chandelier so it all boded well. Then the waiter brought the menus. I have seen more choice the last time I ate in "Chicken Chicken Chicken" in Arizona which served chicken two ways...fried or deep fried. The menu comprised of some tapas, some pasta, some sandwiches, burgers or the fish/meat of the day. When I aske dit was a straight choice between pork or hake. Honestly, I was spoiling for a fight at this point. I know I know, first world problems and all that... Well prepare for a surpise. Dinner was excellent. The wiater, Angel ( a superstar) was the very essence of five star service. Atentive, polite and with everything presented with an old fashioned charm and flourish that completely won us over. First of all a glass of house white for the Memsahib and a glass of house red for me. Well the red was excellent. I mean properly good. Delicious notes with an earthy almost Rioja undertone..but there's the kicker...it was local. A gorgeous Syrah from La Mancha at 3 Euro's a glass. I would have paid a lot more for that quality. It was so good I photographed the label. We had the Croquettas as a starter and they were great. The Alioli accompaniment was also delicious. It was the pork and vegetables for the Memsahib and I had the Merluza (Hake) with potatoes which turned out to be chips. Ok so lets be clear. The choice was limited, but the cookery and the produce we excellent. The fish was perfectly cooked and the chips were par boiled and then gently deep fried and seasoned to perfection. The Memsahib's pork was cooked to a turn and was moist and delicious. She even raved about the cauliflower! With this we had the house Rosado which was fine and then brownies for desert. I had to have another of the red wines bec ause it was just so damned good. Angel was a superb host and while I was pretty desperate to fine fault witht he meal I couldn't. It was seriously good Covid restrictons are still hampering this hotel but I tell you, it is worth the stay. Accept the limitations and enjoy what it has to offer because its great. So here we are with one more night after tonight and already I am looking forward to the excellent buffet breakfast (the scrambled eggs are the best I have eaten in Spain) where each guest is given a set of disosable bamboo tongs to avoid any cross contamination at the buffet. This is a brilliant extra touch. It probably cost only a few cents per guest but you just get the impression that despite the difficulties, this is a hotel that cares. Next time in Toledo, we will be staying here. I cant believe I am saying that after the first day but there we go. After check in I expected this to be terrible - I had also read a pretty bad previous review. I was ready for it but I have to say I have changed my mind and I think this place, on balance, is great.

Well the hotel is basically fine but we had some issues. We had a delux room which was very large. Bathroom was also large but somewhat dated. Common areas and breakfast fine. During our stay keys did not work 2 of 4 days, power died in our room only one day, safe would not open and it took a maintenance visit to open it, on day 4 the main pool was milky green and the room air conditioning was marginal the whole stay. It only became tolerable when the staff selected ac dial positions that clearly said don't use? Maintenance does not appear to be at the 5 star level. Underground hotel parking at 11E /day.

This hotel is on the outside areas of Toledo – you need a car to get to the centre (I read there is also a shuttle, but this was not mentioned to us, nor did we see any info on this). The hotel looked a empty, the parking was very empty, the bar/restaurant area was very empty,… Checking in was smooth, and the room was very nice: it was big, clean, with a good bed and very nice bath room. We wanted to eat something, but this was only possible in the bar area, one that looks very stylish with a color glass ceiling. The menu is very limited, but the food was good, prices reasonable. Breakfast was very nice, plenty of items to choose from, with a lot of attention to Covid (masks required, you have your own ‘device’ to grab the food, and they monitor this very closely too. Would I recommend this place? If you like a big room, and don’t mind you are not in walking distance of the town: for sure!

After a year and a half of not using a hotel, we decided as a family to have the experience of a 5-star hotel again, and we decided to book a "luxury" weekend at Eurostars "Palacio" Buenavista. Conclusion: the experience has not only been disappointing, but an insult to the 5 stars that it supposedly calls the hotel. This is NOT a 5 star hotel. Terrible customer service, a wedding party downstairs that didn't let us sleep, absent management the whole weekend, bar service rude and problematic. The most repetitive word we hear was "We are really sorry", after mistake after miskate of noises, wrong bookings, and so many things I can't post here. WE WILL NEVER RETURN TO ANY EUROSTARS BECAUSE OF THIS EXPERIENCE.

We stayed 19 & 20th. Jan. 20 and were pleased with our spacious room( #126) and the good service from the staff. The shuttle service to town is an asset. Need to reserve the moment you check in. The only disadvantage was the restaurant , absolutely unworthy for a 5star hotel. We dined on the day of arrival and the food was of poor quality , service mediocre and price too high. That needs to be addressed! Parking underneath at reasonable price @ € 10 per day.

After a major disappointment with a smaller hotel in Toledo , we decided to try this hotel . The room was spacious , quiet and the staff was pleasant . Not very charming but more of an international standard hotel that will satisfy most travellers.
