#14 of 45 hotels in Toledo
In the midst of the walled city of Toledo sits this unique hotel, whose principal structure is a rustic home and an antique blacksmith shop dating back to 1815. The enclave's easy access to all points of Toledo is privileged. Near Zocodover, the city's principal plaza, the Hotel Abad Toledo is surrounded by some of Toledo's most emblematic monuments: the Puerta del Sol, the Mosque of Cristo de la Luz (999 B.C.), the Puerta de Bisagra in addition to amazing views of the lower section of the Tagus River. This charming three-star hotel houses 22 rooms, each one unique. During the restoration of the building, efforts were made to maintain all of its original element, such as hand-hewn wooden ceiling and wall beams and exposed brickwork, while adding a modern concept of design and decoration. The results are both functional and innovative, but always very cozy and inviting. Paying special attention to the guest, this family endeavour has thought of every detail to ensure a comfortable stay: air conditioning, heat, Radio, satellite dish, personal safes and hair dryers. Also a buffet-style breakfast composed of traditional Spanish and more continental fare is offered every morning.

Centrally located in historic old town Toledo. On the main road and easy to access via taxi, driving, or walking. I loved the decor, modern amenities within the shell of an old building. Shower was amazing, and the water was hot. Opted for the included breakfast, which offered everything you need to fuel up for a day on the town. One thing to note - it is an old building and there is ONE climate control for the entire building, it's either set to AC or heat depending on the season and you don't get to choose. Opening the windows is an option, but you are in the city and it's loud outside. Probably not an issue unless you're traveling on the cusp of the season. I had no problem sleeping with the windows open, but did hear several guests complaining during our stay.

Room Tip: top floors towards the back of the hotel (away from main street) are probably best

Certainly the most stylish hotel we stayed in while in Spain. There is both an elevator and stairs; two people in our party stayed in a 2-floor suite (room 27?) that was elegant. Desk staff is very friendly and speaks English, and the hotel is seconds away from a taxi stand, so cabs come very quickly. It's located at the bottom of the hill below the Mosque Cristo De La Luz, and about a 5 minute walk to Zocodover Square. Both are uphill to get to--but it's Toledo, so be prepared to walk uphill.

Spent two nights at Hotel Abad. Great location and easy to get to with driving directions. Plus they have a car park near the hotel that you can use (for a fee). We were in room 31 which was on one of the higher floors and it was well appointed and quiet. The king bed was really two twin beds pushed together and they had a 'plastic' cover under the sheets. It wasn't annoying when you slept on the bed but I'm sure helped with cleanliness. The bathroom was well appointed as well and roomy as was the room itself. The location of the hotel was also great for wandering around the city. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We did not partake in the breakfast that was offered as we felt we could get a better deal going to a local super mercado to buy yogurt/bananas etc. that we prefered. If you are staying in Toledo, this is a great place to stay for a night or two.

Nicely located at the foothill of Toledo it offered great sunsets. A very good breakfast was included and comfortable rooms. We stayed in the back of the hotel that faced the stone hills directly. The hotel, though modern, was a good choice for value and a taste of the city.
