Hotel Chiqui has captivated guests with its charming ambiance, boasting modern comforts, scenic balconies, and a welcoming pool and terrace. While the rooms' sea views are a hit, some visitors mention they are compact and could benefit from amenities like tea-making facilities. Its prime location near the beach and local dining is a highlight, as is the commendable cleanliness throughout. Although the pool is on the smaller side and there may be additional charges for parking and views, the hotel's value, coupled with the attentive staff, makes it a popular choice among travelers.

Stayed here Feb 2020 for one night only, we were actually booked in for 2 nights, but got a text from ferry company, saying they were having to leave a day early due to bad weather, so only had one night. We arrived in Santander and drive the short journey to the hotel at the end of the beach. We had a warm welcome from reception. We had a superior room with a good size Our room was lovely;spotless, spacious and with a sea view. We asked for a extra pillows which was delivered very quickly,
We had dinner in the hotel and the food was ok. Staff were helpful and friendly.
It's a nice half-hour walk from the hotel to the city centre, with a bus 5 minutes drive. From the city centre (Puertochico) there is also a beautiful walking path (1.5 hours) along the coast..
In the morning we chose to have the buffet breakfast it was ok. It is possible to have breakfast in their main restaurant- and that would mean good coffee and pressed orange juice and higher price.
If you are expecting a 5 star all singing hotel then this is not for you, but if you want a hotel with a boutique feel and comfortable rooms then this is a must, it is excellent value. The hotel lobby and Panorama restaurant and bar are well designed and have a lovely ambience.. Only minor problem was that the WiFi was weak.
Chiqui, this hotel is so convenient for the ferry from or too the UK.
Special thanks to the front office girls on duty, they went the extra mile...

Stayed for one night before ferry return to UK. This is a large, modern, beachfront hotel. We booked a standard double room, but on arrival we were given a free upgrade to what was a medium sized, quiet, well appointed double room with a comfortable bed and a small balcony with sea view.
The hotel has a bar/cafe and a restaurant, which looked OK although we didn't use them.
The reception staff were very pleasant and helpful.
Parking. There are about 30 or so free parking bays for guests to the front and side of the hotel. Furthermore, the entire length of the promenade road directly outside has free on street parking bays on both sides.
The hotel has a secure car park for which there is a charge, but we didn't use it.
The hotel is an easy 3 or 4 mile, 15 minute drive from the ferry dock.
To summarise, this is a reasonably priced, pleasant, convenient place to stay before the ferry home. We'll certainly use it again.

This was one of the best hotels I have stayed in and I've stayed in very many. It was only one night before catching the Ferry to Plymouth but everything was just perfect and the staff were all excellent, helpful and courteous. Reception went far beyond that and even printed our UK Covid-19 Passenger Location Forms for us.
Set in a lovely convenient location right on the beach and with plenty of parking.
Rooms all have sea view and we also had a balcony which most rooms seem to have. Very comfortable bed and well equipped bathroom with fluffy towels.
Bar service was superb, Breakfast was magnificent.
All the Covid secure measures and procedures were excellent and gave us a feeling of safety and security (far better than anything we have seen in the UK!)

Am currently enjoying the splendid view across the bay from my Hotel Chiquita balcony. A balcony so we’ll designed that I am protected from the stormy elements playing out in front of me. The views here are just fabulous.

The hotel has undergone some improvements since our last, pre covid visit. It does look smart.

This hotel is good value especially if you can catch it when the rates are low. It offers very comfortable accommodation with all rooms overlooking the sea.

On the negative side, the rooms do not include any tea/coffee making facilities as so many others do. Also the available T.V. stations are a bit rubbish. Given the international clientele this hotel attracts you would assume/hope that there would be a better selection than the standard channels, it’s a small irritation though.

The Panorama restaurant has been glamed up with an exciting menu and slick decor. The service is good too, impressively the staff can work in several languages.

The secure underground parking is usually available for a fee which we don’t begrudge paying to feel our car and it’s contents are as safe as possible.

We hope to return to this great hotel with all it has to offer from stunning views, great food and friendly efficient staff, in the future.

I made a 3-week-trip by car through Spain and stayed somewhere else every night. In Santander, I thought it would be cool to have a room with beach view. When I got into the room I was amazed at how tiny it was for that price. A comparable room of that size usually costs 2/3 of that amount. It can only be justified by sea view, but not really. Next, there was no air conditioning. How can that be possible in 2020 in a good hotel in a major city? Wow. This means you had to sleep with the window/terrace door open. And thats the next problem: There were constant construction works going on. Drilling, hammering etc. Impossible to sleep in the morning without earplugs. So you had to either choose between no sleep due to the excessive noise or no sleep due to the heat/lack of fresh air. But not only was there the noise, no, the construction workers also used tar. So, even if you used earplugs you would get that terrible smell everywhere in the room. Upon checkout, I confronted the receptionist or manager with these issues in a friendly way but they were totally uncooperative. "You chose a room with sea view, and this is what you got" - Like it's my fault that there is construction going on. Ridiculous. They didn't offer anything as compensation for this ridiculously overpriced stay and when I told the lady I'd probably be forced to leave a negative feedback she was like "Who cares". Customer service, especially in a hotel, where proper sleep is the most important thing, is something else. Never again.

I have used this hotel a few times when I visit Santander for the ferry to and from the UK
The staff have always been very nice and efficient. Food in the restaurant very tasty and good priced .
Rooms very comfortable with view of the bay but lack air conditioning Which I would like in the summer
Free parking is a problem to find as the hotel and restaurant/ bar are very popular but underground parking for resident is reasonably priced and safe
Shall use this hotel the next time I am in Santander

The hotel is in a lovely setting with beautiful sea views from many of the very comfortable, well appointed rooms. The staff were all welcoming and helpful. The restaurant provides food of a very high quality at a fair price. Free parking is a real bonus!

Just wanted to say 'thank you' to the hotel for instantly giving us the refund for a 4-night May stay we had booked in December 2019. Our flights were cancelled and we feared we would not be entitled to a credit as the deal we got did not allow us to amend the booking. We sent the hotel reception an e-mail and after a few hours were told we would be offered a full refund. I was still sceptical, but 24 hours later our credit card was refunded. You hear horror stories, but on this occasion I was thrilled. When we can, we most definitely will consider rebooking our stay and visit this gorgeous part of Spain. Take care everyone, stay safe!

The location of the hotel is just perfect to view the beach and be handy for all the local facilities. The room and balcony were quiet and spacious. The staff were always very friendly and helpful and the food for breakfast and dinner was well prepared and wholesome. Thoroughly recommended either for an overnight or longer stay. Parking limited at front of hotel but good parking available below the hotel for a fee.

Lovely hotel overlooking beach, about 10-15 minutes taxi journey from railway station and old town.

Staff were friendly and very helpful.

Room (we had a Superior Sea view room) was spacious, clean, comfortable and had a balcony with a table and chairs overlooking the beach/sea which was a great spot to people watch and to relax.

Breakfast was very good with a good choice of hot and cold food and drinks.

We ate in the Panorama restaurant attached to the hotel only once as the service felt a little chaotic. Some nice restaurants and bars within a few minutes walk from the hotel.

Our room at the front had a balcony and I think all front facing rooms did have one. However, rooms at the side of the hotel also have a sea view (it’s at the end of the promenade) and I’m not sure if they had balconies. I seem to recall we had a ‘sea view’ when booking and being told we’d been ‘upgraded’ to front with balcony when we arrived. I didn’t pay a lot of attention as it was only 1 night prior to the ferry. Hotel and promenade area were nice though.
