This seems to be an apartment converted to small rooms, and the machine-assisted plumbing is very noisy - other guests would likely have awoken me, if I hadn't slept with earplugs. No wifi password displayed at reception nor anywhere in the room, but I didn't realise this till I'd already undressed and didn't feel like changing to go back out and ask for it. What bothered me most was, even though I arrived precisely when I said I would and the reservation website had said "no prepayment required" the receptionist had already charged my credit card before I arrived. I use a personal card to guarantee my bookings but travel on business so this just means added paperwork/credit card debt when I had intended to pay cash. They shouldn't do this when a client is still within the expected arrival time.

Myself and my partner stayed here yesterday only one night. I would say that it is not to bad if you want to stay somewhere central for one night but not for much longer. The place is clean which is a plus but the bed wasn't comfortable and there was no shampoo or shower gel. I think you can find a better place for the same money.

Great location two minutes away from the bus ans train stations. Decoration is simple yet practical. All seemed well maintained and clean. This is a good place if you are spending a night in the city and want to keep the budget under control.

We stayed longer than most people at the Plaza(12 nights)because my Spanish wife took off to visit relations for a few days during our holiday in Cantabria. The Pension is clean, tidy and with very nice people behind the desk and looking after the rooms. They don't speak English which wasn't a problem for us and I don't think it would be for non-Spanish speakers either.Room was small but quite sufficient for our needs(basically sleeping and showering.)Linen changed and room cleaned regularly.Very central location,a few minutes away from cafes, bars, restaurants, shops, stations and the town centre.5 minutes walk from the Ferry Terminal,if you travel to Santander by ship,as we did.We enjoyed Santander and surrounding area, and living in the Plaza. Not expensive either.

I recently stayed overnight here while walking the Camino to Santiago. This stop was only a short walk from the ferry and accessible to shops and restaurants. The room was spotless, with a lovely ensuite. If one was staying longer than one night however it may be a bit cramped as there was little space between our twin beds. The pension was on the third floor. Reception was welcoming. It was a bit more than one would normally pay for on the Camino, but we felt that the price was fair for the quality of the accommodation. We would recommend it for short stays.

This hostel was ideally situated for ferry, train and bus terminals. Rooms small but very clean and well fitted. Also close to heart of the city and was excellent value for money. Staff very friendly helpfull and efficient. If you are stopping of for a few days to see the city or waiting for a ferry and don't want to spend a fortune, this is an excellent place to stay

We booked a room here as our ferry was leaving quite late to Plymouth, and our Brittany Ferries hotel was fully booked so was unable to offer us a late book out. As it turned out this was perfect for us. We checked in to a super clean double room, with en suite shower. We left out luggage, very secure setup, 24 hrs cover. This enabled us to enjoy the day and a long lunch, followed by a siesta ( very Spanish). Then return to the ferry refreshed.

This is a very conveniently located hostel - directly by the bus and train station and close to plenty of bars/cafes/shops and a lovely promanade walk. If you are arriving to Santandar by public transport and need a clean, fresh, easy and reasonably priced room for a night or two, than this ticks the boxes. Its on the second floor of a building; the rooms are basic, but comfortable and spotless. We had a room to the front, two singles side by side, the traffic from the front did not bother us, but room was beside reception and you could hear the washing machine/dryer - but we were not put out by that. We were offered a room at the back of the building, but found the natural light better in the front and the WIFI worked better. Comfortable beds and good nights sleep. You have to ring the bell to gain access each time you leave, so security is good. Flat screen TV on the wall. Small bathroom, and very small shower with one of the accordion doors - when you close it, you worry it will open quick enough, a problem if your claustrophobic in such a small space and lends only to functional necessity as opposed to a pleasant experience although water pressure was good. Would recommend a stay here – particulary if you are travelling and using the bus or train and only staying a night or two – we paid €40 at at time when hotels were pricey (Semana Santa). If you enjoy walking, you can walk out the promanade, still be close to plenty of bars, tapas and resturants etc and right beside the bus and train.

We stayed here for a couple of nights. The pension is very close to the bus and rail stations, although the area wasn't dodgy (as is often the case in places close to stations). A short walk from restaurants and bars, and also close to the bus stops for El Sardinero beach etc. The bed was comfy and the shower very powerful, my only criticism was the wifi, which kept coming and going.
