Terrific Staff! Front desk Titian took time and patience to help me with my IPod and phone! Overall staff in dining room were wonderful. Always a smile! Women that cleaned the rooms worked hard. Took care of out requests promptly. Yes, We would stay here again. We were on 5th floor looking out towards the harbor.
Good location but the breakfast and service of the waiter completely let this hotel down - we paid for breakfast and ordered the English breakfast, the bacon was COLD, the beans was COLD, the sausage was a tinned hot dog sausage which was COLD but the eggs were just warm. The breakfast was served to us so was not sat on a buffet facility where it could get cold. I did tell the waiter but we didn’t even get an apology and he just walked off so was not impressed and this completely let the hotel down.
Pros: Great location on a pedestrian street across from a pretty park with lots of cafes and shops. Also close to other attractions within walking distance. The hotel was absolutely spotless in all areas that I visited. In the guest room, the sheets were ironed and the bed made up perfectly. Check in and check out were performed efficiently and professionally. Every employee I encountered was friendly and helpful. I requested a bathtub, and I got one. :-) My room (#311) faced the park, but was very quiet. The windows must be a sound-insulating type. The breakfast was part buffet style (coffee, juice, cereal, yogurt, sliced bread & a toaster oven, jelly, butter and other condiments) and part menu (eggs, meats & cheese, pastries, fruit, etc.) and was quite adequate to insure that you won’t walk away hungry. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The room had a neutral smell—no dirty scents or perfumed scents. The window opened if you want fresh air. There is also a thermostat for cool or warm air conditioning. There is a restaurant on floor 1 with a bar and comfortable TV lounge. Also self-service coffee, tea and water available 24/7. Electrical outlets and light switches are conveniently located on each side of the bed just above the bedside table. There are comfy extra blankets folded inside a plastic bag on the top shelves of the closet. There is a safe for valuables, but I think you need to get the key from reception, and there may be a charge. The TV had a variety of channels, but seemed to be satellite rather than cable. Limited foreign languages. I saw German, Russian, English and French in addition to Spanish, but only a couple of each. I watched BBC News in English. In general, the Sercotel Principe Paz is an excellent value for the money. Cons: (The “cons” are not complaints, but only meant to be thorough and honest in order to help future guests and hotel management.) There is no passenger or luggage drop off area. You will need to walk at least half a block if you arrive by taxi, or farther if you drive and park your own car. There are several parking garages nearby where you can park for 24 hours for €6,95. The two and only elevators are very small (typical) and very slow, so you may have to wait some time for your turn, or else take the stairs. The water sprayer for the shower in the bathtub leaked. The bathroom mirror was a little rusty on the edges—nothing but a frame needed here. There was a crack in the porcelain lid of the toilet. There were no bags for sanitary napkin disposal. The wooden furniture in room 311 was dated and a little worn. The windows did not lock. There is no coffee machine, kettle, minibar or refrigerator in the room (but you can go to the buffet area on floor 1 and find coffee and some other goodies). There was no bottled water in the room. The poached eggs I ordered for breakfast were cold—very cold. I suppose they were precooked and refrigerated. The breakfast food in general, although abundant, was nothing special. The quality was typical grocery store or industrial grade. In fact the pastries were stale. Why not have a few special offerings such as chef-made Cañarían banana muffins, an omelette station, an inspired breakfast quiche or chorizo casserole? Conclusion: I would most definitely stay again at Sercotel Principe Paz. It’s cleanliness and welcoming staff impressed me. The location can’t be beaten. And the “cons” were very forgivable.…
Located opposite a small park in a pedestrian only area, the hotel is a good choice for those wishing a central location with most of the city's attractions and services within walking distance. Entrance is via a shopping arcade and check-in was efficiently completed. Our clean, spacious room overlooked the street with pre-Christmas lights and stalls, yet noise was not an issue. Breakfast was a mixture of cooked options along with a buffet of breads, cereals, fruits and pastries. On one occasion the "hot" option was rather lukewarm. Overall the stay was a positive experience.
Great Value, perfect location close to everything . Very nice room, comfortable bed. Parking is 300 meters and cost 10€ for 24h (the hotel also has a small parking). Cheap breakfast everywhere close to the hotel.
Stayed for over a week. OK hotel, low priced for the service and the location bang in the centre. Facilities ok. very helpful people, the even have a parkingspot when you need one. Only minus is the contactnoise by banging doors early morning.
We stayed for two nights, one double room and one triple room were a good accomodation for our family of five. Rooms are clean, spatious with comfortable beds and nice bath rooms. Our double-room faced the lovely park while the other room faced a gloomier and narrow patio inside. Rooms are quiet, AC worked fine and we all slept well. Breakfast is quite ok, though seems to vary between days. One day we could enjoy waffles, the next day (Saturday) there were none when we came down at 9. All in all a good - though perhaps a little boring - experience in an excellent location with great shops and restaurants just around the corner.
We spent 4 nights on our first visit to Tenerife. The Principe Paz is centrally located in Santa Cruz. There is a park with a cafe across the street. Restaurants are within a few minutes walk. The staff were friendly and the rooms clean and of a good size. I would definitely stay there again.
Friendly stuff, clean hotel, in the heart of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Not the greatest interiors but it's very good value. The central location means it's difficult to park but the hotel has underground parking space for a fee. The breakfast buffet was decent as well.
We stayed 2 nights at the hotel on our way to the south of the island. Walking from the harbour it was harder to find than anticipated. The hotel is located in a very nice pedestrian mall area, but inside what initially looks like a Benetton store. The reception is at the back of the entrance. Modern hotel, clean rooms. Our room was very small and crowded. Lots of nice cafes and shopping around the hotel. Very walkable location to all tourist areas and also near the tram. Would recommend.
