We needed a room in Santa Cruz to let us get an early flight from Tenerife North airport, and this hotel was perfect. Located on a main avenue, a couple of blocks from the Corte Ingles and a 10 minute walk from the historic centre, the hotel is well maintained with modern, comfortable rooms. Due to Covid 19, you had to pre-order breakfast which was then served to you at your breakfast table.

The hotel is just a 10 minute walk from the Auditorio de Tenerife. Check in and check out were quickly and efficiently handled by very polite staff. The room was clean and spacious, albeit a little dark on the 2nd floor overlooking a central courtyard. Were we to return (which we would if we wanted to stay overnight in Santa Cruz again) I would request an outward facing room on a higher floor. This may, however, have cost implications. Tea and coffee making facilities would have been a bonus. The breakfast, included in the price, was very acceptable. Overall, I would recommend this hotel.

The hotel sits on a busy road junction within sight of the sea from the upper floors. The glass lifts face the road and give a great view of the hills and the nearby sea. The lobby area is welcoming with friendly staff and our room on the first floor is in fact on the third as you realise when taking the stairs. Meeting rooms accessible by stairs only are between reception and the first floor. The ninth floor has a small roof terrace, a small gymn with one bike, one treadmill, one cross trainer, one bench, 2 saunas and one operating jacuzzi. The restaurant is modern and sparse. Breakfast offers a wide choice of good quality food including smoked salmon, cheeses, fruits, fresh bread, cereals, yoghurt etc. We asked for a kettle for the room and got just that. Got plastic coffee cups from the restaurant & used a complimentary toothbrush to fish out our teabags.
The hotel is well placed for shopping, 5 minutes walk from the upmarket El Corte Ingles department store, and in the other direction 5 minutes walk from the vibrant Meridian shopping centre including a wide range of shops from Mango to Primark, and with a cinema and good choice of restaurants & noodle bars on the top floor. Old town restaurants about a half hour walk away.

Hotel is located near the opera house and is conveniently close to the highway, but is a bit of a walk from the old town. This was the worst stay that we have had in Tenerife and the worst value for the price. Rooms are small and we paid $200 for a handicapped room on the first floor that was not representative of their pictures. Parking garage is nearby, but looks sketchy and it extremely tight. This 4 star hotel doesn't have a basic coffee maker in the room and they wanted to charge over 2 euro for waters when all other hotels on the island offer it as complementary. While I understand that we have paid premium for booking this hotel on a new years eve, it was a very poor value for the price. Rooftop terrace is tiny and spa is a joke. This looks more like an airport hotel where people spend a quick layover. Staff were courteous and nice.

We had high hopes for our stay at the Silken Atlantida Santa Cruz based on the reviews however we was left very disappointed.

The pro’s is that the hotel is in a good location, a quick 5 minute walk from the bus station and there is good shopping around and nice eateries. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was really good with a great buffet selection.

The con’s - overall this hotel is poor value for money the rooms are average size for a city centre, we paid extra for the ‘executive’ lounge. We have been lucky enough to have experienced executive lounges in many hotels around the world and this executive lounge is the worst! It’s just on tap coffee ( you have to take your own cups that are supplied in your room) with fruit ( well just apples) and ‘pastries’ (pre packaged tiny single muffins and single pre packed biscuits ) there isn’t even any fresh milk. In a usual executive lounge you are proved with unlimited snacks and soft drinks through out the day with unlimited canapés and alcoholic drinks early evening for an allotted time slot. You really need to rename what you are offering as it is definitely not an executive lounge. The air conditioning in the room was non existent, the room was uncomfortably warm despite having the air conditioner on ‘full’, the lobby areas around the hotel was colder than our room. The room really lacked any little extras, there wasn’t even any glasses in the room just paper cups never mind any complimentary water, tissues, or extra pillows again in the booking we was told we had a pillow menu?!?! In the bathroom there was no light over the shower and the wall made it difficult to get in and out of the shower. The shower gel was to the end of the bath away from the taps I assume to make it easier for house keeping to refill but there was no non slip strips so anyone with a disability or who is unstable on their feet could be liable to slip.

Seriously I’d give this hotel 3 stars at best mainly for the location but it certainly isn’t a 4 start and in my opinion it really wasn’t worth the €113 we paid.

Dear Guest, Thank you very much for the dedicated time to evaluating our services. We are sorry that we did not meet your expectations during your last stay at the hotel. Indeed, the Silken Club floor is an exclusive area of the hotel with 24-hour Open Bar service (including fruit, water, coffee, pastries and infusions). We also have a pillow menu available to our guest (on request) and it is a very quiet area, designed for relaxation and enjoyment of those who visit us. We hope to have new opportunities to be chosen for your next stays in the city. Best regards, Guest Relations- Silken Atlántida Santa Cruz

This hotel was poor value for the 500 euros I paid as a treat for my wife for a four-night stay, with no meals provided in this cost.
I booked a junior suite which stated that there was a lounge and bathtub, together with several extras. Bathtub was a standard bath.
The lounge area was in a dark area in the middle of the suite with the bedroom next to the windows over what was a noisily street with four cafes below.
The TV was in the bedroom not in the lounge, however not any good to us, as it was the first hotel I have been to in Europe where all the channels on TV were in the language of that country.
The WI-Fi would only connect to two devices rendering our tablets useless, despite trying to close the link with our phones and trying to connect our tablets.
The extras turned out to be a cup and saucer each in the room where we would have to walk 50 metres to get our free coffee or tea and water from machines and no fresh milk.
The other extras were not very nice tasting apples, and the free pastries were small pre packaged single muffins and a single prepacked biscuit.
We never had the breakfast as we thought the charge of 16 euros each was a bit expensive, especially when you could get a reasonable breakfast just outside the hotel for under half that price.
The clothes hangers were not fit for purpose, if two items were hang on them the leather made hook could not take the weight and would fall to the floor.
On the plus side the suite was kept clean and the bathroom door that would not close was mended promptly.
The hotel is near shops, but about a 20 minute walk away from the Old Town.
As mentioned earlier this hotel was not any way near value for money and a poor start to our 16-day holiday in Tenerife.
Thankfully the other two hotels we used were much better where we were full board for about 20 euros a night extra for the two of us compared with the price we paid for the Silken.

The location is exceptional. The hotel is close to literally anything you need or desire. The room and the bathroom have a nice and modern design. Also, I was impressed by the fact that the room and bathroom have been designed in a very smart manner (they were spacious, good looking and also useful). I liked the fact that the hairdryer was a qualitative one (not just a small, weak hairdryer that you usually get at hotels). The bathtub area was also very efficiently designed (even if you shower, the bathroom floor is not splashed with water). The AC was very effective and easy to use. The panoramic elevator is just awesome. Very good breakfast and nice staff. I enjoyed every moment there. Unfortunately, I did not find any hotel provided slippers (which I usually find at hotels).

The location of this hotel is absolutely fantastic. It’s in the heart of Santa Cruz and right next to numerous shopping centers. The hotel staff are exceptional, very helpful, always with a smile on their face the suite that we had room 1001, was very spacious and clean, the only downsides to it with that one side of it, faced into a business on the first floor so when you looked out the window, you could see people sitting in a meeting room looking back at you, so therefore, those curtains were always kept closed, one other small criticism that I would like to see the hotel change is that the two TVs in the suite are totally locked down and therefore you cannot go into the menu like you can, in other good hotels in the world, and change the language of the programs that are being broadcasted this is a bit of a fail from the hotel as it spoils the facilities in the room because you cannot understand what’s being broadcasted. Hopefully they will see this message and adjust that just take the TVs off of the hotel lock it’s not needed.

Hotel parking is free with a suite and that I think was great value. The cleaning service was brilliant all in all myself and my wife are definitely going to be back in 2023 and we will also be there every November going forward.

The hotel is comfortable and clean and the staff are very friendly. However, for some reason they play music in the corridors of the hotel constantly between 8am and 10pm. The music is audible in the rooms, so if you want to go to sleep early or sleep in late then you will have to do so with the music playing.

Rated 3* because honestly, they do not provide anything but, room to sleep and food to eat, sorry I got faster internet when I could not do zoom with office. Out stay was booked by agency and we were on fix food menu, which cost, if you are private guest 14.9€ but for us same was 22 € and change. 4*hotel, no water cattle, no coffee machine, TV size of desktop screen, no slippers. Above all, nothing will change, because they are at good location, so extra effort not required

Yes, in my room, but when I was there the only 'English' channel was the American news channel. I had hoped for BBC news. I suggest you email the hotel direct and ask if their in-rooms TVs can be programmed for 'English' channels. However, they will interpret 'English' as American so be specific:-)

People do swim in March but remember this is the Atlantic and at present there is snow in parts of the Sahara. My in-laws live on Gran Canarias and they say it is cold and we normally go for a fortnight in October and the pool is chilly let alone the ocean. Hope this is helpful
