Many guests at AluaSoul Orotava Valley commend the hotel for its attentive and friendly service, though a few have encountered less helpful staff. The tranquil pool area and the all-inclusive options are popular among travelers, despite opinions that the pool is somewhat undersized and entertainment is scarce. The hotel's location offers peacefulness and picturesque views, but the steep hill challenge to nearby areas is noted. While the rooms are recognized for their spaciousness and cleanliness, concerns about noise and the necessity for updates have been mentioned. The hotel's atmosphere is seen as welcoming, yet some guests wish for more vibrancy. Opinions on value vary, with some guests appreciating the reasonable prices and others pointing out additional costs.

The hotel was really great. We were warmly welcomed by a gentleman who spoke German fluently. The entrance area looks inviting and is clean. Our room was also clean and modern. The WiFi was a bit slow at times. The bathroom was large and equipped with a toilet, sink and rain shower. There was also another toilet with a sink.
In the living room there was a comfortable couch with TV and access to the large balcony. There was also a TV in the bedroom.
The breakfast was plentiful, there was something for everyone. Fresh fried eggs, scrambled eggs according to your own ideas and pancakes were prepared straight away. There were also various rolls, bread, a large selection of sausages, cheese and fruit.
What was annoying was that all machines work with tap water, which in Tenerife is mixed with chemicals for cleaning purposes. There are often heavy lime stains on the plates, which is sometimes unappetizing.
Freshly squeezed orange juice could be purchased for an additional charge.
The pool was clean, the pool bar was also great.👍
The service was great. The staff was always friendly and always available. What was also very positive was the bus, which transported hotel guests to and from the city several times a day free of charge.
The location overlooking the sea is great. The stairs at the hotel take you quickly to the beach on foot. The disadvantage of the room's location facing the beach is that it sometimes gets noisy at night due to the sound from other hotels, which in my opinion is bearable considering the view. A real recommendation, especially for couples.
The hotel is child-free.
Conclusion: Price performance is optimal. I felt super comfortable and definitely recommend the hotel.

The overall stay at this hotel was just ok. Most of the staff are wonderful, especially Ana (i hope that's her name.. the short blonde lady in charge of entertainment and just the general lobby area) The room was bigger than expected, decorated quiet nicely which a view of a pretty tree, the mountains and some far away cluster of houses. The room did have a dirty sewage smell.. room 8027 especially in the bathroom, you can smell the drain the whole time you are in there. My sister and I saw faint brownish water marks running down the walls and door only to realise that whenever the room upstairs takes a shower.. a lot of that water leaks through the door frame and into our room. We realised this was an old problem, we noticed there were coats of fresh paint where the water was leaking meaning they probably painted over the wet marks and mould... rather than actually deal with the issue. When we informed the reception staff they just confrimed that it was a known issue but did nothing. We did have a leak in the room for the remainder of the holiday so had to keep placing down towels on the floor to soak up the guests up stairs bath water......... The hotel isn't in the best of conditions, but its comfy enough, on sundays during bingo night the lobby area REEKS of alcohol but the drinks for ALL INCLUSIVE guests have no alcohol... not that it's a little, there was NONE in there. I watched him make me a "strawberry daiquiri" without any spirits, strawberry liqueur or syrup.. he put ice, water down juice and lemon juice into the blender and poured it into the glass - oh wells i guess. The food selections isn't huge. The only reason i don't give them a terrible review is because the staff were nice enough to make you over look to errors. Overall - the stay wasn't bad, everyone seems friendly, the entertainment is nice but the tourists are boring and don't get up or get involved. The location is a bit annoying because they're on a bit of a steep hill, so if you're walking to places get ready to go up a steep hill for like 10 minutes. If you're a person of colour... specially black, don't bother, you'll be stared at by the guests like an animal. The other tourists here are elderly retired whites or middle aged snobs who think they owe the little land they stand on. oh - They charge you for the towels - a cheeky 10 euros that they may or may not give back. The fresh juices are 2 extra euros so you have to just use the machine juice which was looking weird

Review of the hotel AluaSoul Oretava Valley in Puerto de La Cruz
The following is an attempt to present my perceptions (3 weeks in January 2025) as objectively as possible:

1.Personnel: Absolutely friendly staff. 9 out of 10 points. A point deduction because it becomes clear that the reception is consistently business-oriented. Customer centricity is not enough or is only offered for additional fees. Apart from that, the staff is friendly and accommodating.

2.Location/accessibility: Without a car, a guest must be very good on foot. For older or less fit people, the route to the center is a show of strength as the hotel is a bit remote and the route is VERY STEEP. Tip for guests: Take the elevator to the pool level, then use the poolside elevator to get to Level 1 and exit through the back exit – saving your strength. To return, enter the rear exit with the card, go to level 1, use the elevator to the pool (level 4) and continue up with the other elevator. For car rental owners: Especially in the evening, the few parking spaces on the street are quickly occupied. It may be worthwhile to use the small parking space above the hotel complex. This is free, close to the hotel, but also with limited space.

3.Hygiene: The hotel, including the bathrooms, is clean and there is nothing to complain about.

4.Soundscape: Rooms facing the street are exposed to the noise of cars and buses. If you really want peace and quiet, you should prefer rooms with sea views – but the sound of the sea is audible. Soundproofing between neighbouring rooms is acceptable.
Disturbance factor: The sounds of the drain pipes in the bathroom are unpleasant. You can hear sewage falling into the lower floors.

5.Program offer: The hotel offers a varied programme. However, presumably through the clientele of an adult hotel, no real mood arises. It was striking that the guests were also very reserved among themselves, something I did not experience in other hotels. Anyone looking for contacts might be disappointed.

6.Internet: Anyone who, like me, relies on internet should not rely on the hotel's statement that internet is available in all rooms. Although a connection is displayed, this was mostly not usable, especially during the day. Also, you should not rely on the fact that the data volume of the German provider is really unlimited.Solution: Buy a prepaid card from a local mobile operator. These are significantly cheaper than in Germany and offer, for example, 300 GB for 20 euros. All you need is your ID card. The card is activated on site and is ready for immediate use. I bought a prepaid card in the shopping center "Centro Comercial La Villa / Alcampo" in "Puerto de la Cruz" at Vodafone and was well looked after for 20 euros. While it is said that the Internet is available at least at the reception level, this is not practical for everyone.

Summary: In my personal assessment, the hotel is not suitable for people with health impairments, remote workers or people who are sociable. I would NOT book this hotel again and recommend it especially for the reasons mentioned.

The staff are a bit rude sometimes, the food at the buffet in the morning, at lunchtime/evening is always cold and not very varied. The cleaner adjusted the air conditioning two days before we left and turned it off completely, so that the rest of the time we had 25/26 °C in the room. She also didn't make the bed and left the windows open all day long during the hot day. A few times in the days before I even found ants, which I then removed myself. When I asked for a second blanket at reception, nothing happened. The drinks in the bar are good though, and so is the food at the pool bar. It's not far to the beach and you can borrow towels for the pool/beach against a deposit.
The rooms are big and nice, all the other cleaners did a good job (everything was cleaned very quickly and thoroughly), but all in all I would have expected more and above all more politeness, better food and better service. If we are back in Tenerife, it will certainly not be at this hotel.

After initial difficulties with the room on the 1st floor, where the walls were damp, we were given a really nice room on the 6th floor and were completely satisfied. The hotel is high up but that's not a problem thanks to the hotel shuttle, which runs to and from the city several times a day. Loro Park is within walking distance.
The hotel as a whole is very nicely furnished, with plenty of comfortable seating. The rooms were cleaned properly every day and the staff, apart from a small, older waiter at the pool bar, were very friendly. The food was good and I think there was something for everyone so that no one came home emaciated. The drinks, we had all-inclusive, were also very good. The pool and everything that goes with it wasn't huge but very clean and tidy, with comfortable loungers and a well-stocked pool bar where you could also get snacks. So all in all, a successful holiday. We would definitely go to this hotel again.

I understand this hotel has been recently decorated but it was done very badly. It looks incredibly cheap and tacky with lots of areas already falling apart or not touched at all. Decor is very basic with no single taught behind. No recycling around.
I was given “suite” 4019 with a very sad looking balcony with a rotten staircase. Corridors leading to the rooms looked so institutional and depressing that I wanted to run away from there.
Food. I have never come across that with the half board option you are not allowed to drink anything but WATER (not even a tea or coffee) at dinner!!! Such a disgrace. Choice of food was absolutely appalling with almost non existent hot dishes. there was no heated up trays for foods such as chips, pizza (it was precooked) or potatoes so you ended up eating cold, tasteless food. If there were any hot meats they were never cooked properly and served raw inside. Absolutely shocking experience. Dirty table clothes. Only one glass/mug/set of cutlery on a table like they did not want people to have a second serving. So everybody ended up nicking ones from the next table. How they are not embarrassed. The member of staff at the reception named Michael / Michel was the rudest person I have ever encountered, when I wanted to change the room as it looked like a hole he would not have any of it sarcastically telling me adios adios. Avoid that cesspit of accommodation!

Regarding the suites, they are very good with two separate bedrooms with 2 TVs, even if you are not on vacation to watch TV, it is convenient to watch football while the lady watches something else.
What I found very annoying for the French, Belgians, Swiss, Luxembourgers and all French-speaking countries is that there are zero French-speaking channels but 10 German channels, stop taking the Germans for the kings of the world and ignoring the French-speaking ones. .
Concerning the restaurant, it is in line with what one can expect from this category of hotel, they try to vary, although in meat it is never offered anything other than chicken or pork, I agree with Other comments, it's okay for a week, if you stay longer, you will quickly have the impression that it's always the same thing.
The restaurant staff immediately clears the tables, and you don't have that feeling of not having a place when you come because it's not cleared, it's very good in that regard.
Regarding the evening entertainment, it is approximately one evening of quiet music at the bar, one evening of rhythmic music at the swimming pool and one evening of old-fashioned games.
Concerning the swimming pool, there are clearly not enough chairs and tables for everyone during the evening entertainment, and like many hotels it is not big enough in August to offer deckchairs to everyone. , basically it's random, but I more often had no deckchair because there were too many people than the opposite.
To finish with the entertainment on game nights, one evening it was Bingo where I won an L t-shirt with a full box, if you were more crafty you would win an excursion, that would force the rest of the family to join. take too.
Concerning the other game from the 90s, you have to find the films by listening to music, the problem is that people play music on their phone, we should perhaps renew these games which already existed 30 years ago.
Regarding the staff, the vast majority are friendly and speak English, it's not 100% of the staff but overall it's okay.
In conclusion, I will say that if you are someone who does not spend their day at the hotel and who is not looking for Mediterranean club type entertainment, this hotel will be very good for you, on the other hand if you want to "stick" the swimming pool from morning to evening, and if you are a fan of evenings with successful entertainment, this hotel is not specialized for that, there is nothing extraordinary in that regard.

I have not long come back from a 7 night stay at this hotel . Fantastic service from all of the staff from check in to check out . I emailed prior to my stay as I have some mobility issues and wanted to make sure this would be suitable I had the best room in the hotel as far as I'm concerned. The long transfer from the airport to hotel took about 1hr 40 mins . When checking in Micheal on receywas very thorough on informing me where everything was as the hotel has 8 floors . Was helped to my room ocean view club suite was stunning. Food was fantastic I was sceptical as there have been some quite bad reviews but not once did I have a bad meal . Drinks and cocktails stunning and the bar staff especially Javier in main bar always remembered what I wanted . There is a free courtesy bus that takes you up and down the hill to the town or is about €4 in a taxi . The pool area was lovely not loud or rowdy with a great view of mount Tiede....weather was great but the wind can be quite deceiving as I found out with a little sunburn. I would definitely recommend this hotel adults only made a more chilled environment (apart from when the football was on lol )

We stayed at the adults only Alua Soul Orotave Valley Hotel in Puerto de la Cruz. Our rooms were in the 'extended' part of the hotel, which gave us very easy access to both pools, particularly the very shallow secondary pool, which is only really for cooling off as its not deep enough to swim, but still very welcome under the direct sun! The whole family really enjoyed our stay at this hotel, its very comfortable, clean, plenty to eat and drink ( we went All Inclusive) and all of the 'public facing' staff spoke English. We would definitely go again, so would therefore recommend to others.

This is a nice hotel with lovely staff and absolutely gianormous rooms, with a separate TV and seating area. The pool is quite small for the size of the hotel, but is heated and was rarely full in January. Outside restaurant hours, food is available down by the pool, which is great for a late lunch, after a morning out and about. The hotel is clean and the staff are friendly. The food, at breakfast and lunch, is fine, but a little lacking in variety at dinner. The entertainment is varied but fun. It would probably be a bit tame for younger guests. The one thing of note, is that the hotel is high up overlooking Puerto de La Cruz, so any walking into and back from the town, involves a lot of steep uphill and downhill walking ( good for all inclusive guests’ waistlines!) However, there is a shuttle bus to ferry guests up and down to the town centre. We had a hire car ( easy, fee parking on the road or nearby car park, but expensive in the hotel car park) and we were able to visit lovely towns nearby- Icod de Los Vinos, Candelaria, Santa Cruz etc and we highly recommend the organised trip from the hotel to Orotava on the bus, led by Ana, the animación. She took us to all sorts of places in Orotava, that we wouldn’t have found ourselves. The bus station isn’t far from the hotel, and buses go to lots of places from there, if you have no car. Lord Parque is within walking distance, as are the lovely botanic gardens, although it’s a big uphill walk to the latter. You could get a bus from the top Road instead! The ‘Dragon Tree’ park is good in Icod de Los Vinos, as is the banana plantation. Candelaria is interesting and a great place for a local seafood lunch. Disappointingly, the beaches in the town were all closed due to sewage pollution,, although this didn’t seem to stop the surfers. Ther3 was also a mysterious and unpleasant drains smell by the pool area on a couple of days.
