Stayed here for a week in March and found it to be very good value for money with great staff. The rooms were a very good size and had everything we required. We stayed on an all inclusive basis and were not disappointed, all the food was very good and there was enough choice to please most people. The only small thing was that in the bar in the evening they were very strict on only serving one drink at a time to guests and you must have finished drinking the previous drink to get another, but this was not the end of the world. I have to say a big THANK YOU to all the staff who were there during my stay as this was a week before the island went into lockdown and they all provide excellent service to all guest in a very difficult time. I would like to mention Delia the waitress who always had a smile for the guests in the restaurant and also Kruger behind reception who was a great source of information, and took time to find the answers for our questions. I Hope that in the near future you will be able to return to normal and continue to provide great holidays for future guests.

We arrived late because of a flight delay, the night manager was rude to my wife, demanding to see a hotel “voucher” even though we showed him our online paid reservation. When she asked about the included breakfast he said breakfast was extra and told her to complain to Hotels.com ( who booked us) We were tired, so we went to our room to discover that wifi was an extra charge @ €3 per.24 hrs and that the room had no heat.we checked out the next morning hoping to use the wifi in the lobby, but it didn’t work because of intermittent power. When we left we found it hard to navigate out of the area because we couldn’t start our google maps on the nonexistent wifi. On the plus side, the room was large, clean, with a good shower, an ancient tv with no remote, and a phone that couldn’t even call reception. Note: the only way to find this place is with gps or google maps or a knowledgeable cab driver. Lesson learned...buyer beware.

Dear guest. We regret that some aspects of your stay were not as expected. First of all, we need the hotel voucher at Check-in to verify your reservation, the sevices reserved and also to attached the invoice. For this reason, the recepcionist ask you for it. As to Wifi with charge, is in our description. Our free wifi works properly, and if doesn´t, you can say it our reception who solve the problem as soon as possible. In the street is not ussual find free wifi, except specific areas. Finally, as we said, our reception is always willing to help you, also if you don´t find the remote control or the phone instructions. In any case, we apologize for the inconvenience and we will try to improve on the issues mentioned. Thank your for your visit and best regards.

I have become a regular visitor to this hotel. I stumbled across it by chance a few years ago when searching for somewhere cheap (funds were tight at the time) and have come back msny times since. The staff are wonderful and will do anything for you. Meals are tasty especially the breskfast. I can't wait to come back in a few months time.

My husband and I stayed here for just over a week, all inclusive, and we had a fantastic time! The staff were all extremely friendly, we had a great time getting up and having a dance with the other guests and we enjoyed getting involved with some of the nightly entertainment activities. I can't understand other reviewers saying they were treated poorly due to their age - we were the youngest couple there but we had a great time with both the other guests and the staff! The food was varied enough, and our room was cleaned by polite and friendly workers to a high standard every day. We are already looking at booking in over Christmas again next year - definitely recommend staying here!

We stayed for the last week of November and I can honestly say it was one of the best holidays I've had. We requested a room higher up before we arrived and were given a great room on the 6th floor with a perfect view of Mount Tiede. On arrival the reception staff were so friendly and welcoming. Lunch finished at 3pm, we arrived at 2.45pm and they insisted we had lunch even though the restaurant was about to close. They allowed us to leave our bags in reception so we had time to eat. We didnt feel rushed in the slightest. As we were all inclusive we chose our drinks and were given a full bottle of wine, which started the holiday perfectly after travelling for nearly 10 hours. We popped to the local shops after lunch and when we got back we had been left a bottle of bubbly and a plate of fruit in our room. The room itself was very clean and a good size. We bought a travel kettle as I had read they didnt have them in the room. However my husband found out we could have requested one so no drama there. The food throughout was really nice and there was a great choice. Luckily we love seafood so there was always something we liked. I would add that they offer a lot of traditional Canarian food which we personally prefer. So if you are looking for burger and chips then maybe all inclusive isn't for you at this hotel. The all inclusive drinks are served from 11.00am to 23.00pm which I think is more than adequate. The barman in the evening (I didnt get his name, a bald gentleman) was really lovely and had our drinks ready when he saw us walking towards the bar. There was also a lovely guy during the day who treated us the same way. Our measures soon became more vodka than orange!!!!! The barman got to know us so luckily we didnt have to remember to take the all inclusive time everytime we went to the bar. Moving on to the entertainment. Yanira the entertainments girl was INCREDIBLE. She really knew how to get everyone involved and she really made our holiday special. The entertainment isn't to everyone's taste, but for us we had the best time. She is an asset to the hotel group. We are a couple in our mid 40s and probably one of only a couple of English couple at the hotel when we were there. Most of the guests were Spanish or German. Although there was a significant language barrier, Yanira managed to get everyone together and through her we felt really included and always got a smile and a hello from the other guests. The location of the hotel is tucked out of the way and nice and peaceful. I would recommend a hire car and if you have mobility issues maybe find a way to get to the local shops by taxi as everything is on a hill. Overall the hotel is really charming with fantastic staff and great food. I would say if you are in your 20s and looking for the Tenerife nightlife then maybe this hotel is not for you. There was a group of younger Germans whilst we were there and there constant loud talking until 2 or 3am was annoying. This was not the hotels fault in any way and I am sure had I spoken to reception they would have dealt with it. We will definately return as it was an incredible week. Thanks to all of the staff for there hospitality. Dont believe everything you read in reviews as everyone has different ideas. We thought the hotel would just be a base, but it turned out that we spent more time at the hotel than we did going out as it was so relaxing. Thanks once again and we look forward to seeing you at some point next year.

I normally read a number of reviews before I start tapping away. Of those I read, although some good points I feel clarification is in order. OK main point, very important. This is not all inclusive, at best it's full board with some free drinks for 12 hours. 11am to 11pm. Outside of these times you need to pay for anything, including coffee and water. Get used to this and it will be ok. Meals: The hotel is predominantly Spanish occupation. So the menu choices at the buffet are probably different to what you expected. The food is edible and varied but you need to be prepared to experiment. You won't see a lot of English cuisine. Breakfast is not great and the choices limited and often colder than required. But you can eat cold meats, cheese, yogurt and pastries. Plenty of fruit available. They need to up their game here a bit. But if your prepared is ok. Pool: Not for children, no shallow end. No diving or jumping or any horseplay Very strict not much fun. Entertainment: Same problem and the food. It's geared around local tastes. Now very odd. They have various entertainment such as bingo, dance class and karaoke. Bingo you play for a small necklace about 2 Euro and a cocktail you must drink there and then. Board games, now this is a puzzler. You have a selection of board games but.....you can not play them in the bar, you must go elsewhere. Very strange. But if you accept this it's ok. Now the overall bit. The hotel is clean. The rooms are clean and well kept. The staff can be a little grumpy so what. They are working your not. WiFi.... forget it and don't pay for it. It's very poor. Location. 20 mins walk from anywhere and a LOT of hills. But taxis are cheap and very quick to come. It's a cheap holiday in a back street. It's not horrible and if you accept the way things are you will have a decent time Is it a 3 star hotel. No I have stayed in better 2 star. Is that a problem. No.

I believe in starting how I mean to go on. In that spirit, upon entering the Hotel Perla you are given you're room key, hotel information and a welcome note. THAT note was the most welcome we felt our entire stay. We were constantly looked down on by the elderly guests the entire time. Had we known younger guests weren't wanted at the hotel we would have booked elsewhere but there was no information to state this. All but two of the staff members were miserable. The nice ones being the bartender Diego and the lifeguard James. The other staff were awful though, in particular one of the other barmen who's name no one would ever give me and sadly the only way I can describe him is bald and rotund. He was always looking at us as if we were something he stepped on, constantly making us feel like were a nuisance just for asking for a coffee (which takes about four seconds to make) and even going so far as to talk s*** about us right Infront of us. He assumed we spoke no Spanish. He was wrong! But the most insulted we felt is when he mocked us for saying gracias each time he served us. I apologise but my mother raised me with manners. He shook his head at us and said "gracias, always gracias" which may be confusing to read but in the context of the moment it was clearly a dig. Hi is without doubt the worst employee there. I understand that they may not be used to having seven men all staying together. All of varying ages but it was my cousin's 21st birthday and so we came to this beautiful island to make the day special for him. We realised early on that the younger members of the group required some looking after and so to appease the other guests we made sure each time we went to the bar we went outside and sat right down at the bottom, past the pool where no one else sat just so we were out the way. The music was dated and very loud and is more catered to dancing in groups. So in our little corner we put our own music on and being Brits we like a good sing along. This just led to more dirty looks. EVEN on the nights when just two of us would go up and have a friendly game of pool (they were actually snooker balls on a pool table but that's neither here nor there) we were still treated like crap. The worst part is we were unaware of the hotel's feelings about us because nobody said anything to us until day six when another British guest approached us and said that they had approached him and asked him to ask us to keep it down. At the time they asked him, he refused to do so as he was just one man with his wife and we were seven men and while I'll argue that we are in no way intimidating, neither are we particularly small. It was not his responsibility to talk to us. That lies solely with the hotel! I don't want to go on too much longer but to sum up: From our experience The Hotel Perla has 'ok' catering but it's hospitality is practically none existent. The food is varied but the temperature is all over the place and there's not really anything that can be made into a meal. It's just random. The same applies to the house keeping. My room was serviced every day and by that I mean they made the bed and closed the curtains. That was the extent of it. But my cousin's room next to mine wasn't serviced once despite having the please service sign on the door the whole time. I've worked in the catering and hospitality sector for years now and I would never dream of treating anyone the way we were treated. Everyone has bad days but it's called putting on a happy face. I will definitely come to the beautiful canary islands again but I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THE HOTEL PERLA! Hotel aside we had a great time in a beautiful location and I would recommend it to everyone.

After reading the very negative reviews on here I was initially unsure what to expect! I’m going to be as honest as possible. What everyone needs to remember about Hotel Perla is that it’s only a 3 star hotel and is very competitively priced! The rooms are basic with a small ceiling fan which would probably be not cool enough in high season but adequate for November. Maid service was daily and cleaned to a very high standard. Beds were comfortable and there was a fridge in the room. No tea, coffee or kettle but that didn’t bother me. We were on floor 5 which was perfect, I would recommend asking for a high floor. Breakfast, lunch and evening meals were all really nice! A great selection so you would have to be really picky not to find anything to eat. Kitchen staff and waiters/waitresses were all really friendly (some other guests were quite miserable but hey that happens everywhere) the hotel had mainly German , Spanish, Dutch guests. Not many English at all but again that suited me. There is nothing here for children but again that was another plus point! The main thing that lets this hotel down was poor entertainment but apart from that we had a lovely stay. Barman Pablo was excellent and always happy to help! All staff we encountered at this hotel were very helpful, the reception staff too were extremely nice.. all in all it was a very reasonably priced week away 😀

Let's say the person who took the photos for the hotel marketing is a brilliant photographer making something look much better than it does. The restaurant, pool and bar was very disappointing. The restaurant was smaller than it looks in the pictures. Didn't appear to be the cleanest as staff would clean the tables by shaking/wiping the crumbs to the floor and then never seeing them sweep. The food was cheap and not much choice they need to sort out the way the show allergies as this was not consistent or clear. The swimming pool was a lot smaller and very deep. The jacuzzi didn't work The bar again was a lot smaller drinks was nice but rude staff serving. The hotel provided a bus which runs into the town and back again. She was a lovely welcoming woman very friendly

I had high hopes for this hotel, before booking I made sure to read the good reviews, make sure it was clean and the food was good. We arrived for a 9 day stay around 9pm and the staff were very accommodating but found it very hard to find our booking. Initially we thought the decor was very out dated and in need of a diar refurbishment, our room was very basic with two single beds pushed together synonymous to hospital beds, a big back TV with only Spanish channels, old furniture and a rickety ceiling fan. Although the room and all corridors were immaculately clean we did not encounter one insect our entire stay. We book B&B, breakfast was lovely and there was a wide variety of hot and cold food, many juices and coffees and the hot food was always hot and replenished. Our friends stayed at the same time and booked all inclusive and they were very disappointed. All inclusive was from 11am to 11pm strictly, they werent allowed take food or drink to their rooms and the food selection for lunch and dinner was very poor. The hotel has one pool on the rooftop with a jacuzzi that is never turned on, a few tables and a pool table. You are not allowed pool inflatables in the pool under any circumstances, which we found unfair not only on us but on the children staying in the hotel. The man at the bar was very grumpy and even though we were paying for our drinks it was almost as if he didn't want to serve us. On the second night the events that happened were absolutely appalling, we were trying to enjoy some drinks at the pool bar and there wasaboyt 3 clothes racks full of the type of clothes you get on the strip for maybe €5 but being sold for €30?. There was one lady operating this but all the staff were involved and were heavily pushing the sale of these items on vulnerable people like the elderly and those with children which was horrible. The entertainment was so drab, every night the same thing, being force sold rubbish and those who bought something would be in a "fashion show" and then bad kareoke. There was a dj but he played the same 3 songs on repeat every day. The staff seemed very adverse to young people my partner and I and our friends are all in our early twenties and the staff were all very rude and dismissive towards us. Also a concerning factor is that all gates and doors are locked at 10pm. Over all this hotel was not the worst and had some positive aspects, but I will recommend that you avoid this hotel if you want to enjoy your holiday at all.
