This is a basic hotel so don’t expect tea/ coffee making facilities in your room, pool towels or free bottles of water! However, the breakfast is more than adequate catering for all nationalities ( fried, boiled and scrambled eggs and bacon, beans and hash browns!!!) the rooms are clean, the staff are friendly and the location is excellent!!! The pool is small and cold (we went in February) but it’s a little sun trap and very peaceful if you don’t want to spend money on the lido and the hotel doesn’t supply towels ( we just dried in the sun ). The best by far is the location of this hotel, a two minute walk from the old town yet it’s still peaceful at night! For the price I would definitely recommend hotel Marte!

I stayed at the hotel between the 10th and 19th of September, and I must say I would NEVER return with it in this condition. The rooms are extremely outdated and need lots of work done. I was a solo traveller, and my room from entering had a sicky smell, which reception said this was due to varnishing the rooms. The room was very hot as the air con was a little unit, which did absolutely nothing to cool the room down. There was a lack of plug sockets, which meant I had to keep unplugging the TV and phone. The room also did not have a fridge, which in this heat is ridiculous. I was having to constantly buy water from the shop so it was cold and was then wasting the warm water left in the room. I since on leaving was told I could have paid daily to have a fridge but this was not offered to me. I personally think with the heat it should be included. The staff were friendly, so I can't fault them on the poor standard and lack of amenities within the hotel. The pool is extremely small, so I used other pools nearby. I spoke with several other guests who confirmed the same, and some even checked out and spent money to stay at another hotel. If it was not for money, I would have checked out myself, but unfortunately, I did not have that privilege. The bar area is not manned, and you have to ask reception for drinks, and they then charge you then get you the drink, which is not a great experience. I am extremely gutted and tried to stay out of the room as much as I could as the surroundings are beautiful and have lots to do, so I am thankful for that. I am now also going home with bad back pain as I could feel every spring from the mattress.

We booked this trip in a hurry, just to get a break before a knee surgery, later this month. We "upgraded" to Superior room, but to be honest, has nothing to do with Superior... In the room, we found three electrical outlets, one occupied with internal tlf., one occupied with TV, and third one, with a fan, which should replace the aircondition. In this modern world, You need to charge a phone, a tablet etc. The room was very ordinary. But to the main point, with temperstures at 40degrees C. outside, we just had to evacuate, and find a different hotel after first night(our fault, should have checked better). Friendly staff, and the room was tidy and clean, but the fellow in reception, spoke very little english. So for this time:Sorry...

This is a great little hotel in a very good location in Santa Cruz. It punches above its weight providing decent accommodation, while slightly dated being both comfortable and clean. Bathrooms are quite limited but provide all that is needed. Breakfast is as you might expect and a little disappointing. Fried eggs are very good but most other hot offerings failed to impress. Cold buffet a bit underwhelming. Staff were all friendly and helpful. All in all would recommend for a reasonably priced stay.

Marte Hotel - Puerto de la Cruz Excellent quality 3*hotel. It is in a very convenient position if travelling from South Airport by Titsa (public bus); it’s a 5 minute walk downhill from back of station. Also, situated a very easy 5 minute walk to 2 big supermarkets and start of town, squares etc before main promenade walk along by hotels and Martinez Lagoons. There is also a big supermarket adjacent to bus station going out other side (Hyper Dino) example there 8litre container of water is €0.88). I believe in constructive criticism and am being helpful in stating the following starting with MAINLY good points:- 1. Obviously all as above 2. Lovely lounge bar/reception area 3. Regular entertainment 4. Very clean, sheets changed daily. 5. All staff very friendly from waiting staff, reception staff, cleaners and pool attendants, (yes there is actually a lifeguard overseeing postage stamp size pool). NOT SO GOOD POINTS 1. Annoying to find after having paid top asking price for private balcony/patio to find inconsiderate guests smoking on adjoining patio (our area, level 6 was only separated by 2 troughs of shrubs) when there are 2 really large sun terraces on the the level above and below our area) 2. Food most of the time was at best lukewarm even after going into dining room at beginning of service, the food choices were certainly adequate for the half board upgrade but deserts were very unimaginative and tasteless. 3. In conclusion I would definitely recommend this hotel as being very reasonably priced and in excellent location for getting around by feet or public transport.

Thank you for taking a few minutes to send us your feedback and share your opinion with other users. The entire team at Hotel Marte is happy to know that your experience has been positive overall and that you especially appreciate the good value for money and the treatment received. On the other hand we regret the incident with the temperature of the buffet and that you were not completely comfortable with the assigned room. We would be delighted to offer you another room that is quieter and that you will visit us again in the future. From Puerto de La Cruz Yours sincerely Hotel Marte
