Whilst I hate giving a somewhat negative review I feel that I should in order to help others make an informed decision before booking this hotel not least because it is listed with TUI. The hotel as others have stated is dated but to be fair the lifts worked & the room was clean & spacious. Our room was located in the building that housed the restaurant & the only pool that was open at the time. However, this pool is totally under cover. The other pool whilst taped off (closed) , had people sunbathing around it but did not have a pool bar which should be noted in particular if you are AI. (A good 10 minute walk over to the other bar area) Should you have mobility issues & are accommodated in the building where the main reception is you may struggle to walk over to the restaurant. We were staying on an AI basis. The breakfast was fine but otherwise the food was not to our taste & some days we needed to venture out in the evening to find something alternative to eat. The hotel is located on a very steep hill, so you may be thankful for the shuttle bus that ran 5.5 days per week during the daytime both ways to the seafront & back. Taxis to be fair are very cheap & the walk down is manageable it’s the walk up that’s more problematic! Clearly many guests hired cars which should you be happy to drive would be a good option. Lots of areas to park. The bar set up was ‘different’ with there being no defined bar & seating area over where we were staying. Drinks can be accessed from a very small bar within the restaurant area. Some evenings a more conventional bar was open in the other building, but it’s opening hours were not promoted unless they had entertainment on. A few friendly singers who tried their best to create an atmosphere, which was generally lacking in this hotel. All in all if you want to hire a car & stay B&B using the hotel as a base then this hotel may be for you. For us we will remember this hotel for its well maintained beautiful gardens & Mike the barman - both assets for the hotel.

Spent 7 nights here with my partner and our youngest (12 year old) in the last week of October (school half-term). The hotel itself is a little dated and run down (especially outside) and does not have any real atmosphere at all, however staff are friendly and helpful and the hotel and rooms are clean. The main pool was taped off and out of use for most of our stay (not entirely sure why) but the covered pool was open. Plenty of sunbeds available. On the few days of our stay that the pool was open hardly anybody was around and it looked like there was a poolside bar (but that was not open). The main bar was also not open at all, so the only place to get a drink was at the bar in reception – but that was a bit hit and miss and we hardly saw that one open either! On the one night we wanted to have a drink and play cards with our son prior to going out at 7pm the bar was shut and when I asked at reception a very huffy man begrudgingly opened the shutters, muttering that the bar was not open today, poured our drinks quickly without a smile and then shut the shutters again! (we had our drink and then went in to town to buy further drinks at another hotel instead). It looked like there was a small shop (with water etc) but this also was never open during our 7 night stay (so we got our water from a small shop a few minutes walk away). The grounds are very pretty (with outside gym equipment and a giant chess board, a table tennis table and a snooker table – the mini golf did not look as though it was in use, neither did the tennis court – which looked like it had seen better days!) We were on a bed and breakfast basis and have to say the selection and quality of food at breakfast was excellent – plenty of choice and variety and all very tasty and decent quality. We had a one bedroom apartment which was spacious and well laid out with plenty of storage. The kitchen area was fairly basic – fridge, oven with hob, kettle, cooking utensils and crockery, cutlery etc (although no toaster and no kitchen scissors and, although washing up liquid supplied there was no brush or sponge to actually wash up with). Bed was comfortable but the pillows were not (and we had 4 between the 3 of us). Bathroom decent size with large walk in shower (no bath) and just a generic pump with body/hair wash and very small hand soaps, the toilet did not flush very well (you had to keep your finger on the flush for absolutely ages just to flush a single sheet of paper). There is no air conditioning or even a fan in the room (luckily whilst we were there it was not stifling hot and we just slept with the patio doors open but not sure how comfortable it would be to stay here in the summer). The TV is a waste of time as only a handful of channels, none of which are in English (it poured with rain the first half day we arrived so we stayed in our room for about 3 hours until it cleared up, so would have been handy to have something for our son to watch - although he did read and we played cards - but I never see the point in advertising a TV when you can't actually watch it! You have to pay to use the safe in the room (daily rate) and also you need to pay a deposit if you want to get a pool towel. Location is good with small shops nearby for necessities and just a 15 – 20 minute walk into town with plenty of lovely bars and restaurants, pretty town square, church, harbour etc. In the other direction there are more shops and restaurants and the Botanical Gardens and just a few minutes away there is the Orchid Gardens which are very pretty plus 10 minute drive away to Loro Parque. The approach to the hotel from town is up rather a steep hill but we didn't find that an issue (we are in our mid 50's - maybe people in their 70's or over may struggle). We went out every day (Botanical Gardens, Puerto de la Cruz, Trip to Teide National Park with cable car, Orchid Gardens, Loro Parque and an evening at a Medieval Banquet) which kept us busy. This is not a hotel for families or children really, nor one where you are likely to meet people - if you are looking for a deserted, quite stay somewhere (either as a base to explore or to just literally sit on your own all day, then this is perfect). All in all, for a 3 star hotel it is decent value for money - clean, well located and good breakfasts.

We last visited PVE in2019 and due to covid had to cancell a few times. We will be back again in May 2022. I think it will be our eighth stay there. Look, it's not a five star but for value, we love it. Its clean, basic and no doubt there are better placed hotels. it's on top of a steep hill. The food is buffet style and very varied and well done. Not to everyone's palet granted, but we love Canary potatoes and anything else that Spaniards eat and you can cram as much as you like on your plate (or two or three) . Some say it's an old people's home. Well that suits us fine but ask yourself. Why is it full of Spanish folk? It's because it's not a Britbox or a hotel for wild scenes. It's basic in some ways but it's a happy place and it's clean and friendly. You can pay thousands for a room with a view at some places with pools and food. But, if you want a pool or three, good grub, plenty to drink AND get a free bus to and from town, some light entertainment in the evening, give it a go. Well under a grand for two B&B for a week. I've paid a lot more for a lot less and We always come away happy and satisfied. Looking forward to our return in May 2022.

Hotel maybe is not brand new but very good care and clean. Rooms are renovated. Big garden, big parking avaible. Good kitchen. Is located 1 km from the city center, on the hill. Some effort necessery on the back way. There are few pools avaible but we didn't use it then I have no opinion. We would like to come there again, is very good location for visiting all the island or trekking trips.

Yesterday was my last day of a 7-day stay in Eden Hotel. It is a large complex with 4 swimming pools with a nice garden and a view. Starting with advantages I have to mention the food because it was delicious, very varied. The staff was helpful and ready to assist you in any matter. Cleaning personnel was also on top, the room has been cleaned up almost every day. Coming to the areas which I think are most challenging is location - the hotel is located in the upper region of the city, which means you have to go up a little bit. Wi-fi was stable and fast but you need to log in each time, which was annoying. Also be informed that there is no gym room in the facility, only the outdoor open-air gym. It would be also nice to extend the closing time of swimming pools too. Nevertheless, I count the stay as pleasant and would recommend it to anyone. A small improvement or consideration of things I mention above would be nice.
