I can't understand much of the comments. We stayed 5 days and no noise, dirt, hair, bugs, cockroaches, grime and all that you read here. The apartment was very clean and tidy, acceptable for the price they have. Fridge, sink and some utensils for lunch or dinner from time to time. Comfortable beds and spacious bathroom with central hot water. They cleaned our bathroom and made the beds every day (although the last one warned us that the towels are changed every 2, negative point). A large wardrobe for clothes and a great terrace with table and chairs overlooking the pool quiet and traffic free. The normal swimming pool, with sun loungers and showers. Very attentive receptionists and polite and not noisy cleaning girls. All this more than acceptable for the type of apartments we pay for.
All those who complain should think about where they get in and their expectations. If you want a full kitchen and feel at home, you can opt for luxury apartments and take a chachacha (cleaning pack included) that washes and cooks them daily. These are for showering, resting, eating and sightseeing on the island, which gives a lot of itself.
Note: the area is busy for parking, but it is easy to find room in the little dead ends in the surrounding area.

What I liked about it: the structure, in my opinion is in a strategic point if you want to get around the island by car. about an hour you have everything and the neighborhood is full of bars and restaurants. room side, large and with the bare essentials. services side the pool is large and clean. Parking is located quite easily.
what I didn't like: meanwhile the comfort of the beds. we are a couple but the beds have only single. also mattress and bed base were not really the best. side cleaning made the beds and arranged the room but without cleaning or changing sheets. towels change them every 2 days. side noises unfortunately the rudeness of other customers can not be managed but clean the rooms from 9 am is definitely early for those on vacation. I do not say that the world should stop but other facilities leave from 10 am onwards. And unfortunately the rooms (at least where we stayed), was not soundproof at all. last note, wifi, never worked

Not a bad stay at the pez azul. Myself and my fiancée stayed in room 412 for two weeks , from the 7th of july to the 21st of july. The room was top floor over looking the ocean to the right and mount tiede to our left. Room was clean pool was clean. We had room only so we had breakfast and other meals in the daytime and evenings out of the hotel lovely restaurants and tavernas around the area so will not be able to comment on the hotel menu as we never tried the food there due to the pandemic and social distancing. We chose to dine out and also to eat outside. Every meal was lovely and breakfast in the cafe near the supermarket and taxi rank was lovely. We went every morning full fry up x 2 coffee x 2 orange juice x 2 all for €9.50. Beach a 10 min walk lots of steep hills and walking up and down steps but we hired a car from the airport a brand new seat ibiza for 2 weeks was only €175.00 the car was great air con and dab. Staff at the hotel were friendly and sanitizer also available around the hotel. My only issue with the hotel was the mattresses were very uncomfortable as after 12 nights we had an issue with our door card and our door wouldn't lock so they kindly gave us another room also on top . Room 415 the mattresses were lovely and pillows much better so for our final 2 nights we slept much better as i suffer with a bad back and so does my fiancée unfortunately. But we decided not to complain as we understand we was fortunate enough to get away during the current situation as many other are not so lucky. Over all i rate the hotel 8 out of 10. I was more upset the coronovirus had kept the pool bar closed as the one day it opened was a good day at the pool. Anyway if you want to stay at pdlc and don't mind walking to the beach its worth a stay. Maybe a week here but for 2 weeks i would definitely choose a more luxury resort. Some photos will be uploaded for anyone thinking of staying in the area. 😎☀️

Fortunately I only read the reviews after I had booked. Was a little concerned in view of some of the bad reviews, but in fact the Pez Azul is brilliant, especially in view of the price. The staff without exception are extremely friendly and helpful. I hadn't realized I'd booked a "low cost" single accommodation, but in fact my accommodation was very spacious with twin beds joined together. I was on the groundfloor and my terrace was surrounded by a garden with tropical plants (and I had view of the Teide). I experienced none of the problems mentioned in some of the negative reviews. The location is super, both for transport: the bus from the airport stops almost outside the Pez Azul . It's a pleasant walk down into town (a bit of a climb on the way back, but if you have walking difficulties, the taxis in Tenerife are very cheap). You can walk to the beautiful Taoro Park (via Calle Belgica it's shorter) and don't miss the "Jardin de las Orchideas" of Agatha Christie fame , which is a 5 minutes walk from the Pez Azul (Sitio Litre). Closes at 2 pm. What I appreciated most is that, unlike so many places in Spain and especially Tenerife, the Pez Azul doesn't play loud music . If, like me, you want peace and quiet, I would suggest ground-floor, away from the swimming pool. The weather in Puerto is nice all year round: although I went in October, I was able to have a swim in the outdoor pool (the weather was brilliant!) Re. the cockroaches mentioned by some: this is part and parcel of a tropical climate BUT here's the trick: keep the bath and bidet outlet plugged and put a few bayleaves in a small dish: bay is supposed to repel the critters. (The accommodation was clean and I didn't meet any insects!) As someone who previously lived in Puerto de la Cruz for several years and also stayed in hotels most of the year during my tour leader's career, I can honestly say that the Pez Azul is a great choice and gives more than good value for money.

Happy to write that this hotel far exceeded some of the other reviews.
It was not without fault- when we arrived the receptionist was lovely, but our room smelt as people had smoked there and covered the smoke alarm. We returned to reception who quickly upgraded us and we keen to help. The room we were transferred to had comfortable beds and air conditioning
The pool outside is far bigger than the photos suggest, my daughter and I had a great time as my wife relaxed by the pool bar. The barman they hired was also very friendly and helpful
We had half board and I've stayed in many places with inclusive food. The food was fresh every day with a great selection. I don't know what people are complaining about but compared to some places I have stayed, at Pez Azul the food was fresh, varied and interesting.
The reception also helpfully sells 5L bottled water for a good price, saving any hassle of going out to buy it.
We would stay here again.

We didn't get to shower for 3 days because the shower was broken. 4th day the mechanic finally came along. Instead of fixing the shower, he replaced the shower head. Then he went back to fix the shower because the problem was not solved water finally came out but the water fluctuated between freezing or scorching hot. The mechanic would come by on day 2, we have been waiting all day for this but unfortunately no one saw. Been to the reception 5 times in total to ask and complain. Here we were laughed at and sent from the cabinet to the wall with promises that a mechanic would come the next day.
There is a sewage smell coming from the wells of the room, cleaning ladies and mechanic have looked at it but could not solve it.
In the grilles of the bathroom is mold. This has made my friend with asthma very ill.
The microwave is also covered in mold and cannot be used.
The beds are never changed and are simply turned around so that it is less noticeable. The floor is not cleaned and the towels are sometimes replaced. Sometimes you get 4 and sometimes 2 for 2 days with his 2s.
We were not helped at all and heard at the desk.
Eventually managed to switch rooms. However, we have the same problems here and we now have cockroaches.
Because of all this hassle spent a lot of time waiting and discussing with the staff instead of being able to enjoy the holiday.
We never come here again and do not recommend anyone to sleep here. Yah!

We stayed at the Pez Azul Apartments first week of September, just got back last night.
I don’t do reviews but felt in this occasion, I had to.
We celebrated our 25th anniversary here, I send an email asking for a nice room, to our surprise, we got the top floors overlooking the sea & volcano. On our arrival, we were greeted by the friendliest of receptionist who couldn’t be more helpful all times, ( apologies, I cannot remember your name, I hope you know who you are. We opened our room door to be surprised with a ice chiller bottle of wine (what a nice touch)
We needed help on 2 or 3 occasions, the lovely lady at reception could not help enough…….always.
Food - em, it was okay, not the biggest of selection, food hot, cold buffet was also okay.
Big disappointment was that the busier the hotel got, the more watered down juice, milk and fresh yoghurt got, not the staffs fault, obviously management. To management, STOP watering things down, what…..to save a few euros on your reputation? This is not the staffs fault, this practice puts the staff in awkward positions.
Staff - from the housekeeping staff to the bar staff &, technicians, all were outstanding.
Remember, the hotel is 3 stars after all, our week was very reasonably priced.
Rooms serviced daily, cleaned, etc.
We had a lovely relaxing time at the Pez Azul and would most probably go back.
I reiterate to management - STOP watering things down.
Overall, enjoyed our week.

Our apartment was on the second floor overlooking the pool area. It was very clean, with all facilities as stated in the apartment details! There was a full sized fridge, toaster, microwave, kettle and hob with accompanying kitchen equipment! We did not elect to have breakfast or dinner and therefore cannot comment on the restaurant. However, the bar was welcoming and the bar staff attentive and cheerful. Reception was helpful and informative and the cleaning staff delightful. The room was cleaned and made up daily and promptly! The surrounding local area was safe and pleasant with all the basic facilities such as mini supermarket, restaurants, cafes and local bus stops on the doorstep. The town was a 10 minute walk down hill. The walk back up is fairly steep and not for the infirm or very elderly. Local public buses run regularly and nearby. We enjoyed our stay at the Apartments Pez Azul and would happily return!

It could have been a very pleasant stay due to the good location of the apartments… it turned out to be disgusting. Old and poorly maintained furniture, somewhat uncomfortable beds and questionable cleanliness. But our surprise came when we found a cockroach in the room. That made us be on alert and we will have killed about 20 cockroaches in 4 days. They come out from the ends of the doors, they are curved and they are there. Disastrous apartments. We certainly won't be back.

Very regular food and quality mo. During our stay there was no heated pool. They told us it was broken, but they didn't give us any compensation. The room we were given old and not very clean. Although they are renovating some apartments, I do not recommend renting any.
