Be Live Experience Orotava garners praise for its prime location, conveniently close to beaches and local attractions, as highlighted by guests. However, the hotel's atmosphere is often found wanting, with calls for a more inviting ambiance and modern touches. While the cleanliness of the rooms and common areas receives commendations, the amenities, including a cramped pool and inconsistent WiFi, leave some visitors disappointed. The service and value proposition of the hotel elicit mixed reactions, with particular criticism directed at the extra costs and food quality that don't align with a 4-star rating.

So, the first thing you’ll need to get over is that this is a 3*plus hotel - if you do that, you’ll be fine.

Yes it’s an older hotel, yes the rooms are a little dated, yes the pool is small (but very clean) yes the food could be a little better (swap your dinner for lunch if you’re half board, much nicer) but if you’re here on a deal - stop complaining or go and pay another £1k for another hotel.

The reception staff were very helpful and friendly, made a courtesy room available for us as we were getting picked up at 4.30pm and check out is 12 noon.

Great location, small shopping mall across the road with a Mercadona for extra snacks and a drink on your balcony.

The rooms were cleaned every day to a good standard and fresh towels daily too (this is lacking in other hotels I have stayed in on the island)

Sun gets to the pool area about 11am, no entrance to that area until 10am - meaning no sunbed stampede at 7am :) Pool towels are €10 deposit and €1 each time you need a fresh one. The sunloungers are new, so I have no idea why other reviews are complaining about them - if you want a Bali bed, go down to the Lido and pay for one.

€9 for a bottle of wine in the restaurant - very reasonable.

Overall, if another Tui deal came up for 4 nights again, I’d definitely come back - a holiday is what you make it.

I would advise for you to read as many reviews as you can if you’ve already booked to stay at the hotel. I did which helped manage my expectations but I was still a little disappointed. The main things that disappointed me was how old and rusty the room and furnishings were, especially the bathroom. This hotel is certainly not 4 stars, don’t expect luxury. And if you don’t then it’s okay. We had all inclusive but I wouldn’t bother to be honest, the food was okay but would could’ve been improved was the variation of dishes. It was the same group of meals each mealtimes so after your first day, things felt repetitive. Also if you went to the buffet any later than 30 mins after serving then everything was cold. We stayed in the 12th floor when it was 30 degrees and had no working air con!! This room was already much hotter than outside so to not have aircon made sleeping incredibly uncomfortable. All inclusive alcoholic drinks surprisingly didn’t include English brands, which we were not told about upon booking which wasn’t great as some drinks tasted watered down. The good thing about the hotel is that it’s in a great location so lots of bars, restaurants and beaches around. If this hotel was priced around a 3 star budget hotel I would say it’s worth it because of the location but due to the price I would say it’s not worth it and definitely overpriced

Arrived very late due to TUI delays 01-30am receptionist very welcoming, unfortunatley we were on 11th floor.Following day staff would of moved us to floor 7 but we would have to wait until mid afternoon, we stayed on the 11th floor,3 lifts but peak times you wait a while
All staff very friendly,no kettles in room towels paper thin, beds comfy tele on wall with 1 channel sky news(but you dont go away to watch tv) safe deposit box €20 deposit,€18 for the week.Tiny fridge in room
Food very bland brekki cold but there is a microwave,Beer and beverages very average in paper cups (not ideal) we found couple local bars 5 mins away €4 a pint very nice.
Pool area far too small for size of hotel, sun doesnt come up until 11-30am so no rush in getting a sunbed pool is very very cold.
This hotel is clean but needs a good upgrade.
Some nice bars and cafes very local to this hotel, macdonalds and burger king near too
My advice take a kettle
We wont be returning

4* REALLY! All inclusive - REALLY!
Surely 4* hotels should have the following as a bare minimum.
1) A kettle.
2) free WiFi .
3) mould free bathrooms .
4) a clean swimming pool and sunbeds.
5) hot food.
6) lifts that don't take forever to arrive.
7) timber architraves around doors that's not falling apart.
8) Walk-in shower. We had a bath with a wobbly showerhead. This is a very dangerous arrangement with a bath and showerhead when you have to climb out onto a slippery floor. No slip mat provided.
9) Clean fridges - ours contained black mould. Health hazard.

All inclusive should mean more than one small glass of wine at meal times.
All inclusive bar finished at 11:00pm even on New Year's Eve, not that we had a chance to try the local drinks on offer as the bar staff were to busy serving the locals.
I am no hotel inspector, but this hotel is way below the standard of any other 4* hotel I have stayed in before.
We were booked in here for 7-nights. Needless to say we checked out after the 2nd night.
The Hotel Manager - Jonathan Doniz was not available to speak to us so we left our opinions with Raquel - the Head Receptionist.
Hopefully we get a response from Love Holidays soon.

The food was appalling, multiple guests where moaning and discussing how bad the food was, we spent all of our holiday money on meals out as we couldn't eat it, we found mouldy tomatoes in the breakfast and they didn't apologise just acted dumb and took it away!
I asked for a glass of tap water for my partners tablets to be taken and the barman told us to go to the other bar and refused.
We were given mouldy toilet paper in our room which was disgusting!

All inclusive finished at 11pm!! Was not advised about only getting certain drinks until arriving, had to pay €9 extra for premium drinks and also another restaurant we weren't allowed to use.
I was not able to wear strappy tops you had to have your arms covered at all times in the restaurant, over rall north Tenerife is beautiful but would never stay at a be live hotel ever again.

Room was clean and comfortable. Shower was hot and the shampoo/body wash was good, saving the need to bring it from home or buy it there. Communal areas were clean and well maintained. We liked that the hotel does not allow guests into the pool area before 10am thus preventing people from bagging the best sun beds before breakfast.
We thought that there could have been more options for soft drinks at the all inclusive, I don’t drink alcohol or fizzy drinks so an option other than fruit juice or water would have been nice. The lemon slushy from the pool bar was very nice but not available after the pool bar shut. Food was good, plenty to choose from, but a definite lack of non alcohol/ non fizzy drinks in the restaurant, basically only water.
I think it is important to remember this is not a big hotel but it is reasonably priced and close to the sea front and the old town. Plenty of shops, restaurants and bars nearby. The lagoon pools are a short walk away and very reasonably priced for a day visit.

The hotel is well located, the rooms are nice and of a good size. The housekeeping standards are very good with the rooms being kept clean with fresh towels delivered daily if required. The food was nice and well varied. The hotel was a pleasure to stay at.

We arrived at 11.30pm to find out we were put in two rooms of two, just what you want to hear at that time or night with two young children. The receptionist said TUI often do this when there are no room for 4 left. Not sure what family will want that set up.
We head down for breakfast at 8:30am and the food was stone cold, all of it. You can't even get a freshly cooked egg or omelette.
We then come down to the pool and it is tiny for the size of the hotel, not many kids/adults braving the freezing water but imagine it gets very congested when it is busy or warmer. There is a constant smell of cigarette smoke around the loungers. Been here less than a day and can honestly say it's a dive.

We booked this hotel through a travel company. When we arrive to check in we were welcomed by the nice receptionist Markus (I think that was his name?) he was really nice and give us a lot of information and jokes, it was nice after a whole day travelling.
We went to have a dinner. It was a buffet. Restaurant staff were nice, at least some of them. There was a man in his middle age without hair and he was nice to us throughout our stay. There was one waitress who was really rude all the time.
According to the food – one day I was without dinner, because I couldn't choose anything from there. Pasta with sauce? It tasted horrible.
The meat was all the time tasty, live show cooking (except the omelette for the breakfast) was tasty, baked potatoes and they were floating in the water…
Late breakfast? Well, you can eat meatloaf with old french fries and bun or in the mini fridge there is a small amount of cheese, ham and toast from the supermarket.
Hotel room was nice. We got half sea view. Housekeeping cleaned our room every day and cleaned it well. You can borrow a towel from the reception, but they request it a deposit 10€ for each.
Bar area was nice, but do not order any cocktails, because they do not shake it (mix it)
Pool area – swimming pool is kinda small. It closed at 5 pm. They you can swim under your risk, because they are cleaning the water.

Myself and my partner had a wonderful time at this gorgeous hotel, thank you so much to each and every member of staff that made our experience so memorable 🥰

Breakfast buffet has a lovely array foods from continental to full English and plenty of fresh fruit as well!

Evening buffet was great each night, themed nights across the week with an amazing selection of different cuisines and lovely desserts each night as well 😄

Our room was cleaned daily and was light, airy and perfectly working air conditioning! The room size was great and lots of storage space! The terrace was also lovely, we had a partial sea view which was gorgeous - Ideal location as well, across the road from a shopping centre and supermarket and right in the middle of the city so very easy to get where you need to go!

Overall Puerto de la Cruz is a beautiful city with so much to do, including a gorgeous lido right by the ocean and lots of shops!

Thanks every so much again Be Live Orotava Hotel, we will definitely be back! 🥰🥰❤️❤️

Yes (bottled beer) I think approx €9 a day to upgrade. To be honest bottled beer is only €2 a bottle if you are all inclusive. Bar shuts dead on 11 every night we were there May 24.
