Myself and teenage daughter booked this hotel through a third party and were very pleasantly surprised. It was very quiet and empty which we loved (partly because she was studying for upcoming exams), only a few older visitors and quite a few solo German travellers, some of whom we became friends with. We loved the range & quality of food provided on the buffet, we did half board which was great. Our highlight had to be the new roof top terrace bar & jacuzzi! We spent a lot of time there; great views and nice place to relax. Only a short 5 minute walk downhill (good for the legs!) to the centre of Puerto Della Cruz and the Lago Martinez complex & bars/restaurants. If you want a hotel to stay in the whole time or with lots of entertainment, it wouldn’t suit, but if you want to have a balance of hotel and town experience and a great base to be in, then I would fully recommend & we would go back tomorrow! I went for morning runs down the coast and used the wee gym a few times: even if it was quite basic. My daughter and I enjoyed getting dressed up and going for ice creams, karaoke & drinks in the town :). There was a professional photographer there on the night we arrived who took a beautiful picture and made us a souvenir magazine for breakfast the next morning. (See pics). There in a mini market, tourist booking place and tapas bar right underneath! We went on a few trips down south of the island for great value. Big shout out to the staff across the hotel who were all very accommodating & kind, especially Yapci!

To celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary we revisited this hotel at Puerto De La Cruz. With new owners we were concerned that changes had been made however despite alterations being made the hotel was as good as ever. The rooms and service was excellent, the Restaurant despite being moved back to the Ground floor had excellent variety of meals to suit all tastes and the staff headed by Pedro, with Martin ,Federico Melanie and colleagues were welcoming and very obliging and super efficient. I must mention a new addition,The Top. On the 7th floor you can observe the whole of the surrounding area from very comfortable loungers, beds, and 2 hot tubs. A bar serving drinks is also there,a very nice addition to this lovely hotel, but the location is halfway up a hill with 125 steps to walk up and down to the town so not suitable for those with mobility problems, then there is always a taxi!! The new owners are looking to turn it into a family friendly hotel with a new swimming pool and all inclusive, which might deter some people.

Third stay and paid extra for a room in the main building on the third floor which was very noisy. The noise transmission from other rooms was considerable and kept me awake every night. Constant loud bangs, thumps, rumbling sounds the entire evening often until 1am. It ruined the holiday. I will not stay again. The building is old and made of concrete and sound travels! There is no sound proofing. The food is the best feature of this hotel. Drinks varied in price depending on who was serving and were 2 or 3 euros more than bars in town and other hotels.

WARNING! Before you sit in the chairs for eating check they aren’t coming apart. We avoided many chairs as they were separating but one evening at dinner the room was crowded and although the chairs available looked ok when we sat and had our beverages delivered my wife’s chair came apart. Luckily she grabbed a firm hold on the table while the “dining room manager” and I steadied her from hitting the floor. Beverages spilled on us and all over. She has some minor mobility issues with her knees and was injured trying not to fall to the floor. Other guests checked their chairs! We were told by said manager to report it at the desk so we did. The “hotel manager” said OK, didn’t assist us in any way nor did he write anything down. Food, always buffet style, was awful. Very cold no matter what was chosen at what time of day. Now the other bad parts, we reserved in advance, an accessible room due to wife’s knee issues only to arrive to learn the duration of our pre cruise stay (four days) that accessible room was non existent and snappy response was “at least you’re near the elevator”. Sadly, it broke on day two and there was no way to reach our room so we stayed all day in the lobby until it was repaired. The view from our room was nice and room was clean but we didn’t know the hills were impossible to climb for my wife so again she remained at the hotel. Day three we rented a car and escaped. The entertainment provided at the hotel was nice enough but held in the open reception area. People walked through, chatting over the entertainment sounds and moved furniture where they wanted. Took away from performances greatly.

The hotel is not 5 star it is 3 star if lucky . The room smelled of damp, the food was average , staff had no idea what time there own roof top Opened , gym was zero rated no machines worked and over 3 days we stayed was not cleaned once same tissues laying there after 3 days . Some of the guest were clearly unused to seeing Asian people as we got a lot of snide comments and looks

We booked a room with a partial sea view and could see and hear the sea when sitting on our balcony of an evening. The room was clean and comfortable. We do an hour’s exercise each morning and it was ideal that there was a small gym and a circular pool, which was great for swimming circuits. I had it to myself every morning before breakfast. Breakfast was good, with a wide range of hot and cold choices. We only booked B&B and we’re glad we had, as even for a week the food would have got a bit samey. There was entertainment in the lobby bar every night from 8.30. However it was not the best. The hotel is near to the sea front so you are better off heading into town for dinner and any entertainment you are seeking.

If you want a quiet and relaxing break in the sun, this is for you. We were concerned when we read other reviews but although not particularly new and modern, this hotel is absolutely spotless. The staff seemed to be continually cleaning, sweeping and tidying. The bathrooms put the uk to shame. We booked as a last minute break and it was a cheap deal so we didn't expect anything very fancy. We were half board and the food was just as expected for this type of hotel, nothing extra special or particularly amazing but a nice choice of dishes every evening. The room we had was a basic one but very comfortable and clean and it kept cool during the day due to being built into the cliffs. There was a bit of traffic noise but we slept well enough. The hotel is located up a very steep hill with lots of steps so wouldn't be ideal for those with mobility issues. When we were there the vast majority of other guests were German and of a mature age. This suited us perfectly. It was quiet and around the pool was very peaceful indeed. The pool itself is small but perfectly adequate. Lying on the sunbeds there surrounded by the lush green gardens, with the volcano overlooking was very pretty indeed. The birdsong was gorgeous and what better than having green parakeets flying around overhead too. We heard a couple of younger guests complaining that it was too quiet and unfriendly but when you turn up at a peaceful poolside, hitting the drink, swearing loudly and insisting on playing your own music at high volume , disturbing everyone else you should expect more than a few disgruntled looks. This is not the place for loud partying, it's such a shame this kind of thing gives Brits a bad name. Last we heard they were off to try and move to Playa del las Americas. The staff in the hotel were lovely and very attentive, especially in the restaurant. The cocktail bar was busy in the evenings but worth the wait and prices were really cheap. Walking into the town is easy and there are plenty of cafes and shops to look around. There is a free 'train' to Loro Park which is only ten minutes away and a lovely coastal walk up via the road tunnel to the right, this takes you round to the next bay via all the banana plantations. There is a lovely bar/restaurant when you get there too. Not the place for families with young kids as there probably wouldn't be enough to do and the evening entertainment is aimed at a certain age group. We would thoroughly recommend to people of any age who just want some peace and quiet in the sun. The weather in Puerto Del A Cruz was perfect, coolish in the morning (still shorts and t shirt weather but comfortable for walking about) and it got lovely and hot by lunchtime for an afternoon of sunbathing.

The hotel description and images have nothing to do with reality. This is an old smelly used hotel which doesn't deserve more than 2 or 3 stars. There is no tennis court or jacuzzi or nice heated pool.... The food is OK but the staff are very rude. The room size is great but the fridge doesn't work, the air conditioner doesn't work, towels are 100 years old....entertainment is a joke. Most of the guests are old German couples. Please choose a different hotel for your stay.
