This hotel is more suited to the backpackers of this world. The mattress was very hard, backache to prove it, although room was a good size there was rising damp on the walls with plaster blowing and falling off, the walls were badly marked and the curtain pelmet dirty. There was one socket in the room which you were not permitted to use if the hotel did not provide the equipment, light switches not working. Lots of rules and regs even down to sun loungers not allowed in rooms? Breakfast was designed for the Europeans and even the fruit juice was more like squash made in a machine with water, coffee undrinkable. You were warned that if you tried to take food from the dinning hall you would be charged by the head waiter, card on table to reiterate. This hotel reminded me of a B and B in the 1950's with the strict landlady. We did think of moving but being Christmas there wasn't a lot else around, and for the first time we actually wanted to come home. The pool bar was hardly ever open and you were not permitted to use it after 8pm…
The location is great, 1 km to Loro Parque,300 m to bus station, 300m to the city centre and 100 m to the beach. It's a very clean hotel, nice staff, good food. The pool was ok also. If You want to visit the island, that hotel is perfect for U.
Stayed in the Hotel with a hiking group for one week. It is a simple but clean and cheap hotel with friendly staff. The house has seen some better years so the beds were not very comfortable. Missed a good coffee in the morning and some fresh orange juice. Instant coffee comes out of a machine and juice is like an orange undefined liquid. So recommend take breakfast outside. All in all the friendly staff helps over this negative part. Location is very nice in downtown Puerto La Cruz, rooms with balcony and ocean view.
So I booked the hotel based on the other recommendations but unfortunately was disappointed. Yes it is inexpensive but I still expect more! The bed was so not comfy and ended up hurting my back. The mattresses are simply old and need to be replaced. There were also two single beds instead of one which made this even more disturbing. The breakfast is not good.... old bread, a weird mixed drink they call orange juice and the coffee is simply some powdered drink. The hotel is close to the beach which is nice and close to entertainment but the basics simply aren’t met here like a good night sleep and a decent coffee and breakfast. I wouldn’t return.
Clean (cleaned every day), nice and big enough room with a balcony. There is a pool accompanied with hotel bar. Breakfast is quite standard but there are always some fresh fruits, vegetables and eggs. The only drawback is that there was no fridge in the room. There was no AC either but it was not a problem for us, we would not use it anyway.
Our stay at hotel Don Manolito was very good. Hotel is few minutes far from playa Jardin and market. Hotel is very nice especialy its garden is really beautiful. Service is also good just some employees can't speak english. Our room was fine and clean nevertheless little busy because of frequented street. The pool was also good and clean. There was a good choice of food like salads, meat, fish and desserts. Breakfast was good too. Overall we had really pleasant vacation.
This is a conveniently located hotel if you want to spend more time traveling than staying in the hotel. If you rent a car to travel, the hotel itself has no parking spots (it is sometimes hard to find a parking spot in the neighborhood). The pool is nice but quite cold (to me it seemed the same temperature as the ocean). The staff only speaks German and Spanish. If you need advice about the town, the island or practical information about the trips, do not expect any help in English. Also, they are not really customer friendly and if you want something "special", most of the time they will not be willing to help you (e.g. we were leaving early to catch a ferry and wondered if we could get an earlier breakfast, the receptionist told us that we couldn't). We have booked the hotel well in advance. Three weeks before our arrival I wrote an email asking for a silent room with double bed for me and my husband (saying I was pregnant and I had trouble sleeping in a noisy room). The room we got was a room partially orientated to the street and partially to the other houses around. It had two separate bed. When I asked for a room with a double bed, they told me it was impossible and that I could put the beds together (they kept falling apart). The food was average. They served a "water" and a "juice" for the breakfast, however I thing the water was a tap water (which is not drinkable in Tenerife) and the "juice" was this water with sirup. The coffee was not a coffee, it tasked as the instant "3 in 1" product you pour water on. No drink with the dinner (not even water) with the dinner if you choose half board. The breakfast is served from 7:30 until 9:30 and the dinner from 7 p.m until 9 p.m. At 9 p.m., the waiters were impatiently exchanging table cloths around you and preparing the restaurant for breakfast. The internet is only in the lobby near the reception, not in the rooms. Otherwise, the stay has been nice. The room was quite old and the toilet kept making weird sound after flushing, but otherwise everything worked, the room was clean and was cleaned really properly every day. We didn't watch the TV but if thats what you want there are only channels in Spanish and German. Maybe our overall experience would have been better if we were German or Spanish speaking tourists. But still I would recommend the hotel. It's very conveniently located, close to the beach and all the shops, the town is quite nice and the island itself is very nice even though I was shocked by the number of cars in the streets and the tourism ruining the nature of the island. Next time if I were to go to the Canary islands, I would choose Gomera or La Palma where you can still find the nature in its pure form and where there are not so many people. For Puerto Cruz, good choice if you do not want to spend too much time in the hotel.…
The hotel consists of three buildings. We had a nice room in the smallest one with a view overlooking the garden and the pool. So it was quiet at night. The room was quite big, clean with a nice bathroom. The cleaning ladies come everyday what we thought is not necessary. Staff is helpful. The breakfast was good and tasty except for one thing. You can only drink tea. We did not like the coffee from the machine and the juice was artificial. The dinners varied every night and there was a nice selection of meals and desserts. The hotel is close to the main square with a lot of restaurants and possibilities of nice walks. There are a lot of hiking tours close to the town. The national park is 45 minutes away by car.
Puerto de la Cruz, is a old city on the north coast of the island Tenerife. The hotel is a block from the ocean, there is a beach: Playa del Castillo San Felipe, about 2 blocks away. Shopping and restaurants are just around the corner from the hotel. So it is quite centrally located. I parked my car and was able to go most places on foot. Parking is hard to find anyway. That the hotel does not have any private parking may well be the only negative point I can make...
Was a little bit apprehensive after reading the most of the reviews but i was amazed at what i got. We got to the hotel late but the staff was very friendly and welcoming. He made sure we ate and drank before showing us to our room. The location was great, close to the beach and restaurants. Enjoyed our weekend away from London. Overall good experience.
